matching with my new bff/roommate Caitlin (1/20) We just happened to purchase the same t shirt.. this led to a whole matching day all the way down to the Disney Vans. We park hopped, drew things and counted steps. (I got her to buy a Fitbit by telling her about all of the cool features) 😊

The best part of today (1/24) was riding Indiana Jones finally! And then hopping right back on because cast members are awesome.

Here are some highlights from our (my roommate & I) day at California Adventure. As you can see, it was a lot of fun. The best part of the day was going on California Screamin’ (as a single rider) and the lady next to me had never done it before. She was screaming the whole time and I was laughing. 😉

My first visitor! This cutie came down to celebrate her birthday so naturally I had to show her around. One of my favorite things about the day was, she & her friend "didn't need a map because they had me". 😌

Day 8

I officially moved in a whole week ago! Wow it seems like I’ve been here a lot longer. I’m finding it a bit difficult to write/think about the past week because I had my first closing shift last night. I got home at about 3:00AM and woke up around 8:00AM. 

I can’t really describe how stoked I really am to be working at THE Disneyland Resort. Just try to imagine having a dream since about age 10 and then that dream becoming a reality. I’m in an apartment with four other girls and we have all sorts of roles. Attractions, Food & Beverage Cashier, Busser/Custodial, and (me) Merchandise! 3/5 are in Disneyland, 1/5 in California Adventure & 1/5 (me) will be in Downtown Disney! 

I didn’t move alone this time! My mom drove with me and we split it up into two days. The scariest part of the drive was the canyon getting to Nevada. It was down to one lane and it was so small! Not sure I want to drive home that way.. Anyway check-in (Sunday) was really quick compared to Florida. It maybe took me a whole hour to complete. I ended up having Traditions on Tuesday and have been working/training ever since. I am now apart of the ‘WOD Squad’ (World of Disney Cast Members) and there are a lot of us! I’m so excited to be a cast member again. And to be working in the same line of business that I did before. Now it’s time to make some magic!

Interview with a 2016 DCP.

What is your name?

“Cassandra Taylor”

Where are you from?

“Salt Lake City, Utah.”

What excited you the most when you found out you got accepted?

“It has been my dream to work at Disneyland since I was about 11 years old, so it was definitely a moment of total excitement and did I read that correctly!? I think back then I just dreamed of going there everyday, so that’s something that excites me, being able to go to the park whenever I want.”

What/where/when were you when you found out you got in?

“I was at home checking my email at the end of the day. I saw the email and I just thought oh cool another email to say thanks for interviewing or whatever. AH still can’t believe it!”

What interest you the most about the program?

“Definitely learning the ins and outs of the Walt Disney Company. Growing up we always went to Disneyland and after I learned about hidden Mickey’s etc.. I was hooked to find out anything I could about the parks. And of course the opportunity to work at a theme park, namely the best ones in the world!”

What is your favorite thing in Disney Parks?

“My favorite thing is the family element. You don’t get that feeling anywhere else! It really doesn’t matter how old you are, each trip creates so many memories. My other favorite is the attention to detail, each land has so much show going on that you don’t even realize. From the music down to the costumes each part is so awesome.”

“I’m stoked to be working for the mouse again! I can’t wait for the program to begin!”
