Light - Who am I?

Hey there, since my blog is starting to grow a bit I thought I'd write out a formal introduction post.

Hi! If you're going to be addressing me, address me as Light as I don't wish to disclose my real name on here.

I'm ethnically and religiously Jewish. I am not fully observant but am interested in moving towards it in the future!

My blog is called Chabad of Tumblr because of a joke the director of Jewish life at my school made about me being on Tumblr, I am not actually officially affiliated with Chabad. Jews of all kinds, those in the conversion process, and goyishe allies are all more than welcome!

I also run a Discord server centered around Judaism, but anyone can join! (Unless you're an antisemite, don't do that, it's not nice.) If you're interested, message me for the link! (I will not be allowing in blank blogs just for safety reasons, sorry!) (TEMPORARILY NOT ACCEPTING NEW MEMBERS)

I also have a Redbubble with some of my drawings on there as designs. Feel free to check it out! (36% of my earnings from the shop will be donated to various Jewish/Israeli organizations.)

mylight-png is an independent artist creating amazing designs for great products such as t-shirts, stickers, posters, and phone cases.

This blog was originally meant to highlight Jewish Joy and the beauty of Judaism in a positive light. After Oct 7th, however, I started to write more about antisemitism and the war, which is what my blog is mostly about now.

Anyway, I hope you stick around!

I really hate the "Jerusalem is very important to three religions why would Judaism get full control of it" because its only important because thats where the JEWISH TEMPLE was and where the JUDEAN KINGS lived. just because people made religions out of fanficing Judaism means we have to give them equal slices of our own cultural history?

Ok I'm ready for this now.

So a few days ago I got to go to a college graduation in Israel to support a family member. You know what I saw there?

Young men and women getting their degrees, supported by their parents. Older men and women getting their degrees, supported by their children.

Men in khakis and polos. Men in tzitzit and kippot.

Women with their hair down, or in hijabs and tichels.

Black grads, Asian grads, Jewish grads, Arab grads, grads who were combinations of the above.

The "apartheid" narrative falls apart when you see all of these people standing shoulder to shoulder graduating from the same institution in the same robes with the same degrees, from so many different walks of life. In Israel.
