Nipah virus -20 high-risk primary contacts of the patient have been placed under observation. Two of them are healthcare workers, who have been identified with symptoms of Nipah virus.
The Nipah virus, which killed many in Kerala in 2018, has returned to the state and claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy in Kozhikode on Sunday.
The boy had symptoms of encephalitis and myocarditis, and he was admitted to hospital on September 1.
As many as 20 high-risk primary contacts of the patient have been placed under observation.
