"Yang, please." Weiss sighed, putting her face in her hands.

@caeruleum-feniks asked: "i’ll do what i have to."
Weiss sighed, glancing upwards at Ray. She remained silent for a moment, stuck in her thoughts as she formulated an answer within her mind.
"Well, I can't stop you, but..." She paused, briefly hesitating before continuing on. "But the least I can do is support you. So I must ask, where exactly is it we're going?" Was she exhausted beyond belief, worn down, and ultimately not fit to be fighting at this time? Perhaps. But Weiss Schnee was nothing if not dedicated to being by the sides of those she cares about.
If helping Ray was the way to help her team -- which, in all honesty, it always was -- then she'd happily do so. Any time, any day, and anything for her team.
@invernc asked: "Nothing’s gonna hurt you."
Weiss breathed heavily, letting go of the gasp for air she took in, having banked on it being the last breath that would pass through her lips. It was all so sudden, and yet-- yet she was here, alive, breathing.
"Winter...?" Weiss murmured, looking around the area as her mind recollected. There had been an Atlesian drone, a large one, and yet it seemed her sister had swept in and saved her. It was odd, really, because Weiss wasn't even supposed to be here, and the last she saw Winter, the girl had been injured beyond belief. To see the other beside her, protecting her from an Atlesian drone... a drone that was--
"It was sent by Ironwood!" Weiss blurted out, scrambling back to her feet with a wince. "You-- you can't defend me! Ironwood will arrest you!"

you can’t keep doing this to yourself.
that’s…a lot of blood.
can you walk?
please don’t lie to me.
you were supposed to leave.
i’m not going anywhere without you.
shh, it’s okay. it was just a dream.
there was nothing more you could have done.
it wasn’t your fault.
this is all my fault.
you aren’t acting like yourself.
i’m never going to let [her/him/them] hurt you again.
you’re hurting me.
don’t ever do that again.
go to hell.
please don’t cry.
you have to stay awake.
i wish i could take the pain away.
you could have died.
hey – stay with me.
it’ll be over soon.
did you ever love me?
i’m sorry. i can’t do this anymore.
things won’t always hurt this bad.
you passed out.
how much have you had?
i’m okay. it’s all fine.
it’s not okay! you’re not fine!
let me get you something for the pain.
it’s nothing. it’s just a bruise.
it’s clearly not nothing.
have you been to the doctor?
i didn’t mean the things i said.
i thought we meant something.
people who are okay don’t act like this.
you don’t have to go through this by yourself.
i don’t want you to be alone.

i heard you crying.
you need to get some rest.
when was the last time you ate something?
i’m worried about you.
did you have another nightmare?
[name], there’s nobody there.
i want to be happy but i don’t think i deserve it.
please talk to me.
why are you mad at me?
alcohol isn’t going to solve your problems.
don’t leave me.
did you do this to yourself?
it’s breaking my heart to see you like this.
tell me what’s wrong.
tell me how to make it better.
why don’t you care?
get the hell away from me.
please don’t do this.
i can’t believe that you lied to me.
just…stay for the night.
you obviously can’t be trusted to take care of yourself, so let me do it for you.
you can’t die. i won’t let you.
just hang on, okay?
hold my hand if you need to.
i’m sorry.
why do you have a gun?
don’t panic.
just breathe.
you’re bleeding.
i’m trying to stop the bleeding.
you’ve been crying, i can tell.
you should have told me sooner.
i wanted to tell you in person.
a phone call would’ve been nice.
i hate you.
i love you.

@myrtenastered
It hadn’t really sunk in yet. What she had done. She didn’t regret it, but god, she had thought that when she left, the terror would have faded. But no, now she only feared retribution, after Salem’s reaction…and Cinder. She didn’t want to think of it, and she gratefully took the distraction when Weiss sat down beside her.
Emerald cringed as she recalled laughing about the heiress and the bimbo during the Vytal Festival. It seemed like she was doing that a lot since she had ‘joined the team’ - remembering times she had been rude or mean-spirited behind their backs. And that wasn’t even considering the truly evil things she had done, the way she had used her semblance against them so many times.
While they hadn’t forgiven her, had almost avoided her since she arrived, they should have been harsher, should have kicked her out, sent her back to the streets by now. The fact that they hadn’t was shocking and down right nerve-wracking. A different kind of nerve-wracking then being in the Monstro, but tense all the same. It made her suspicious, paranoid. It was just too good to be true.
Forcing the thoughts away, Emerald tried for normalcy, as if that was possible in this new, strange situation they’d found themselves in. “Um, hey.” she greeted with a bob of her head, then, hating how meek she had sounded, continuing, tone growing dry, “Remembered I was here, huh? I thought everyone must have forgotten about me.”
It wasn't the same, at all really, to when Weiss had undergone her own sort of growth. Whereas Weiss had an in with her team due to, well, them being her team, Emerald had to go through greater lengths just to stand besides them. The ex-heiress was sure it had been difficult, and although she didn't fully know Emerald's history, seeing as she hadn't left them yet, Weiss could only assume that the other didn't have many, if any, other places to go.
"I wouldn't say the others forgot about you," Weiss said, pausing as she took a moment to think. "If I'm being honest, which I will be, I think nobody else has settled on what they think of you." It wasn't a fault of her teammates, even Weiss herself was... a bit hesitant on making such a quick decision, but she was focusing instead on the growth that could occur, if only Emerald was given the opportunity.
A plant without sunlight would never grow, nor a person without support.
"You know, Ruby and I didn't get along at first." Weiss couldn't help but laugh at the memory. It seemed so distant now-- Weiss would trust Ruby with her life. Had, in fact, trusted Ruby with her life. The moments where they didn't get along were long ago, now. They had since grown into a strong friendship, and Weiss into a better person. "She thought I was rude, which I absolutely was, and I thought she was annoying. The two of us butted heads for a while, with me mostly being antagonizing towards her."
Weiss shrugged, wasting no time at all before she carried on.
"I guess, what I'm saying is, we worked out fine, so I have faith you'll fit in here too. Maybe it'll take a bit for things to smooth over, but I don't think it's impossible. Our situations are different, sure," Looking over at the other, the ex-heiress smiled and nodded. "But hey, I'll help you out. You can thank me later."
Standing up, Weiss stretched for a moment before turning to fully face the other, before promptly offering her hand.
"Are you more of a coffee or tea person? We can grab some, together, if you'd like."

studies weiss's go to your room line... on one hand i cant imagine weiss would want to condemn her brother to the isolation she felt in her own room, but on the other hand she might be trying to protect him... if he's not physically around he won't be guilty by association. much to think about, fellas.

chasingsun:
Yang’s fingers begin an idle tapping against her knee, but Weiss was one who thought over her words, careful where Yang was reckless. She was soothing where Yang burned.
Even in her bluntness, her words calm the raging storm that swirls through Yang’s chest. Practical. Weiss had a way of simple practicality about her, and Yang finds herself nodding in agreement, automatic, before Weiss even continues.
A small snort bursts from Yang’s chest, her face lighting up as she smiled over at Weiss. Some of the tension drained from her shoulders and her expression softened as she said, “Leave it to you to bring science into this. But really.”
She cleared her throat, dropping her gaze to her hands as one boot scuffed at the floor.
“Thank you, Weiss. It means a lot, that you believe in me. I … I don’t know where I’d be, without you.”
As Yang laughed at her, Weiss flushed. She struggled to find the right words to say, she wanted to protest, to fight back and say, "I was trying to comfort you, don't laugh at me!" but..
Admittedly, Weiss didn't want to interrupt Yang's laughter.
Still, it came to a halt despite Weiss herself not intervening, and for a moment she worried that Yang's comfort was just a temporary joy. For a moment, concern overtook her expression. As fast as it came, however, the expression was equally as quick to fade. Weiss released a breath she hadn't quite realized she was holding, before confidently smiling at the other.
"Of course I believe in you. You're not just my teammate, you're my friend." She chuckled to herself, looking up at Yang to try and make eye contact. "I'm always here for you. Don't go doubting that, okay?"
reverentiia·:
Marrow had a choice to make, torn between his orders and what his heart screamed at him- that this wasn’t right.
“You grew up with Winter as your sister,” Marrow corrected. Try as he might, Marrow could never be Winter; the perfect Atlesian Special Operative, able to set his own feelings aside in favor of the bigger picture. Marrow lost himself in the small details- the lives he tried so hard to save, the people he wanted to protect.
His team could turn their gazes to saving Remnant, they could lose a battle to win a war, but all Marrow could think of were the countless people still trapped in Mantle, family and friends and strangers. All those lives, snuffed out under the oncoming darkness.
Marrow had a choice to make, frozen for a moment as Weiss spun and planted Myrtenaster into the floor, her glyphs spinning to life beneath her.
Marrow made his choice, and he could only pray that he did not choose wrong.
“I’m not going to fight you,” he said. “When I chose to become a Huntsman, I never expected any of this, but I knew it wouldn’t be easy. I knew I might die. If I have to die defending Mantle tonight, then I will. There are people down there, and as much as I want to trust the General, that I want to believe that what he’s doing is the best course of action …”
Fetch clatters to the ground, somehow deafening to Marrow’s ears, even over the sounds of fighting behind him, Weiss’s glyphs forming before him. Like a condemnation.
Treason. This was treason, but Marrow’s voice comes out clear, strong, despite the frantic pounding of his heart, the voice in his head that sounds suspiciously like Clover, urging him to trust Ironwood, that it will all be alright.
“I’m not leaving them. They trusted us, and they had no choice to be a sacrifice for the greater good. Fight me if you want, Weiss, but Mantle is my home. I would rather fight our real enemy, than you.”
"You don't know anything about what growing up with Winter was like." Weiss was practically growling, eyes narrowed and full of fury. How dare he correct her on her own family situation-- How dare he assume that growing up with Winter wasn't having equal parts sister and machine.
She felt her hand shake as she tightened her grip on the hilt of Myrtenaster. She felt herself losing her temper, and with a quick, yet deep breath, she steadied herself. Weiss Schnee was not a brute, she was a tactful, graceful fighter. She was adept and mid-summon when she heard the sound of mental clattering on the floor.
At first, Weiss braced for impact. Her eyes shut as she focused her aura, hoping to block the hit without expending a terrible amount of it.
But the hit never came. The sound of metal rang out and nothing followed. Her semblance whirred in the background, like white noise from a fan. For a moment, things were nearly quiet, and Weiss opened her eyes in surprise.
"Marrow, I-" Weiss paused-- she'd let him talk. No need to cut him off. This wasn't usual battle banter, this was a surrender. This was the white flag on the battlefield-- a lone soldier losing account of what he was fighting for, only to find a cause much more worthy.
She was at a loss. Was this all a trick? Admittedly, she wasn't sure. She couldn't tell.
No, she couldn't tell at all.
Silently, she lifted Myrtenaster from the ground. A two finger point shrunk the summon down to size, and on her command, the knight moved to retrieve Fetch. Weiss knew better than to get close to an enemy but... Marrow seemed genuine. He spoke of saving Mantle, a cause Weiss could get behind. Her family name now carried the burden of Mantle's misfortune, and Weiss couldn't help but wonder in pasing why Marrow didn't blame her too.
Blinking once, twice, Weiss focused again. Her summon shimmered close by, Fetch in hand. Marrow in front of her. His will to fight was not gone, but... directed in a place much better. He was right-- why were they fighting amongst themselves? Mantle was suffering.
Weiss sighed, moving forward through the ice stalagmite's formed earlier in the battle. She hooked Myrtenaster to her side, looked up at Marrow, and extended her hand to him.
"We have to be working together," She said, a small smile forming on her lips. "I'm not going to ask you to fight by our side, against the other Ace Operatives, but... know the invitation to join us after all of this is open. I think we could do some real good out there, together."
