Breach - reaction to the album
Hi, let's listen to Breach together :)
Before anything, my ranking is:
City Walls (just because it's the newest one, so I only listened to it like once lol)
(I'll spare you my reaction to the top2, since I wouldn't shut up about them since they came out)
And based on the vibes I think I'll like RAWFEAR because it's fancy in all caps and Cottonwood because of the cosy vibes in the title
Okay, so grab a coffee, because it's going to be a long post and let's get it started!
I was so shocked to discover that this is the opener, it just doesn't really sound like one
But I really liked it, from the beginning to the end. Musically and lyrically
And now, listening to it as a song, without focusing on the MV I can appreciate it much more
Love the piano and drum combo in the bridge
The static is giving Slenderman lol (sorry I'm back in my Marble Hornets era)
The "entertain my faith" hits so hard, but I kinda wished for longer scream like in the Drum Show
And the transition to Heavydirtysoul is sick af
What the hell are those screams :D
Hey, it's lighter that I thought
Wait why are we picking up the tempo how fast are we getting
"I wish her parents would stop yelling" same
What the hell is an "Uzi"? Isn't he the guy from seventeen?
I really expected it to be harder hitting or even emotional based on the title, but it's not at all
But I still really like it, and we did slow down after all
"I feel like / My systems are operating at twenty percent / Or less" same
YEEEEAAAAH in the background is so funky
How does it both sound and doesn't sound like twenty one pilots song
What the hell, are they trying to make me cry with the bridge???
Don't just pick back up like nothing happened, I heard those raw vocals!!!
"Don't give up on me" Tyler Joseph you are so sick and twisted for that
I feel like I'm in a spaceship
The vocals are so cool wth
And the drums are so unique
DAMN that scared me, like a musical explosion
The piano sounds like it went mad
Wait, he's saying "oh mercy", not "no mercy". I'm deaf fr
The harmony in the bridge sounds like there are two Tylers lol
I absolutely LOVE the last chorus
This song sounds like it belongs to the Regional at Best, and it would sit next to the first version of Ode to sleep, do you see my vision?
"'Cause I want to be the one after your own heart" okay Mr. Hopeless Romantic
It's a strong contender to be my favourite so far!
Oh, we're so back with being The Cure coded. The beginning is giving me very strong A Forest vibe
The numbers are also reminding me of David Bowie's Space Oddity for some reason
Oh, we're back at the space station
Wait, the backing vocals are the Robot Voices
Where are we going with this song :o
The chorus is so different from the verses – with the guitar and the vocals
God, the chorus is so romantic again
WAIT aren't the chorus lyrics the same as in the My Soft Spots My Robots by Blanket Approval???
Where are you leading Mr. Jazzman?
DID I JUST HEARD MOI DEATH MEME LMAO
Why are you rapping Mr. Jazzman?
Love the conversation like pre-chorus, which are hella lore oriented
Blasphemy by Tyler Joseph mentioned???
This whole song is filled to the brim with lore!
The bridge is so emotional oh my lord
The bridges are just getting better and better as the album goes on
"That part they aim for Josh Dun" – could they reconsider?
Oh, this is the ballad one
This one makes me think about the people whom I'm no longer friends with, due to them not being the best people
It's really like a conversation with them and "You tore me up more than you know" is exactly what I wish to tell one of them. Bro really changed my way of living just to hurt me in the end
Damn, this one hit a little too close home
It's really beautiful tho, just a bit too sad for me, because of the reasons above
Which one? Gerard or Mikey?
Okay, this one is a completely 180 from Cottonwood
Love the usage of all the instruments in this song
"This has not been interesting in a while, while, while" – nah, I really like this album so far
This one sounds like falling in and out of sleep
The vocals are so amazing here!
Why is Josh calling us all from nowhere, is it a call back to Jenna calling in Saturday?
What do you mean it will be another 180 vibe switch:D
He did not just sample Josh's "aaah" into the intro lol
Oh, it really sounds different
"My days lie dormant / 'Cause I just can't afford it / To waste time in a city / Where no one knows your name" – man this is exactly how I feel about my small hometown, and exactly why I left and never looked back
This might be my favourite of the album and I'm only a minute in
"BUT YOU" scratch my brain so nicely
Oh, the bridge is such an emotional roller coaster
No really, I love this one for its lyrics <333
And this whole song is giving a montage in a teen/young adult movie about a protagonist who is chasing their dream and is trying to find their place in the world
Why is the intro giving a teen song of the summer in 2014
Okay what is happening, it's so many sounds at once
" Still now, you believe in me somehow" – always and forever
Idk how to explain it, but it's the most twenty one pilots song in the album
Give me a high note after the bridge, come on
" I breached your trust" – he said the thing!
The drums are really giving me the vibe of the solo in Lane Boy lol
It's so strong, yet so funky
I'm hearing the piano and I'm asking myself weather or not I'm ready to finish the album and the story just like that
Wait why is the intro reversed
What the hell is the original
IS THIS FUCKING TRUCE PIANO, BUT REVERSED
Are the oohs also reversed
I have this funny feeling in my heart wth
I'm gonna find him and I'm gonna strangle him
What do you mean it fits Truce perfectly
"I am starting it all over once again" being parallel to " The sun will rise and we will try again" will make me sick in a second
IS "Just try to be" ALSO PARALLEL TO " stay alive for me"?????
I've just listened to Intentions reversed and IT IS Truce, but we are running back in time
Okay, give me a minute to compose myself
Damn, what a way to end a story
And no, I wasn't ready at all
Man, what an album. I'm not sure if it's my favourite, but I believe that I kinda liked Clancy better when it came out. But still, it's an amazing album. Great way to end the story with using the reversed Truce to show both growth and being stuck in a constant cycle. I think that now, after listening to the whole album Days Lie Dormant might be my favourite from the album. But for sure that could change after I'll listen to Breach another 50 times. And oh boy, I sure will listen to it an unhealthy number of times.
And I'm happy that I waited to be in better mental health state to listen to the album. Because now I can associate it with happy emotions again, instead of focusing on all the negatives in my life.
Hope you liked my little reaction post, and I'll see you around! :3
