Welcome to my Sims 3 stories blog. šš¾ I decided to create this side blog so that you would only have to go to one place to find my stories. I know I'm terrible at finishing them but this is down to some unlucky situations with my computer. However, I'm still gonna keep writing stories for my sims and I hope that you enjoy them as much as I did writing them. š
Rayne: Oh gosh guys come onā¦do we really have to have a debate now?
Lela: *shrugs shoulders* Why not?
Alexander: Look, if weāre all meeting up for one main objective which in this case is to support Rayne, then obviously there will be times when you girls will be having your conversations and we boys will be having ours, but at the end of the day we will all come together and support and cheer on our girl!
Kerry: Sounds fair. It just depends on the situation.
Alexander: Exactly!
Valerie:Ā Hi! Saved by the bell Rayne thought, cause this couldāve went on and on.
Rayne: *standing up to hug Valerie* Hey Valerieā¦guys this is Valerie, and Valerie this is Alex, Zoe, Lela, Kerry and her little girl Tami! They each gave Valerie a little wave.
Valerie: Itās nice to meet you all!
Zoe: Same here; come, take a seat! Valerie found a spot and sat down with the group.
Proprietor: WELCOME TO SIMFEST! A COMPETITION WHEREā¦ The Proprietor continued to talk until she welcomed the first contestant to the stage.
Rayne had the second to last slot so they had quite a wait as these SimFestās last for quite a few hours. However, the entertainment was quite good which helped the time to fly by, and before she knew it the host of the SimFest was welcoming her to the stage.
As her song began to play the audience began to bop their heads, which led to moving their arms to eventually moving their whole bodies. Rayne was pleased because this showed that she has a good chance in becoming successful in this town. Everyone applauded as she thanked the audience whilst making her way to her friends; she was eager to find out the results, but there was one more act left.
Host: LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IāD LIKE TO THANK ALL OF THE CONTESTANTS FOR TAKING PART AND IāD LIKE TO THANK YOU ALL ONCE AGAIN FOR COMING. AND NOW, THE MOMENT YOUāVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR, THE WINNER OF TODAYāS SIMFEST ISā¦*long pause* RAYNE!
Rayne jumped for joy as she received pats on her back and a kiss on her cheek from her boyfriend and friends. She walked up on stage with a huge smile on her face as she collected her trophy and thanked everyone once again.
Alexander: Well done babe! He kisses her cheek.
Rayne: Thanks bae.
Kerry: Soā¦*rubs hands together* are we ready to celebrate? Drinks on me!
Lela: Errā¦are you forgetting something?
Kerry: Obviously Iāll be dropping Tami home; the baby sitterās meeting me thereā¦plus we gotta change into somethingā¦that suits the occasion!
Rayne: Yeah and hopefully Mr man will make it for this eveningās festivities!
Kerry: Heāll be there donāt worry. Are you coming with us Valerie?
Valerie: Oh, I wouldnāt want to impose.
Rayne: Oh, donāt be silly, youāre more than welcome to join us!
Valerie: Aww thanksā¦so err text me the details and, Iāll see you there! Congrats again Rayne and weāll talk later.
Rayne: Cool! Valerie waved everyone goodbye as they began to pack up their stuff and make their way home to change.
Red Velvet Lounge (11PM)
You know how girls are already when theyāre getting ready; they take at least 45minutes to an hour to do their hair and makeup, then another half an hour or so deciding on an outfit with a selfie here or there once theyāre feeling themselves. In this case there were five ladies who had to return to their neck of the woods and prepare themselves, so they didnāt meet up at the place until about 11pm.
Whilst the group made their way to their reserved area Kerry and Valerie went to order some drinks. Alex and Martin got to talking already, so the girls left them to chat and had their own conversation.
Lela: So now that youāve seen that the people of Pearsonville loves you, whatās the next step?
Rayne: Valerieās gonna set up some auditions and stuffā¦
Zoe: And what about the business? Since you have extra help now are you gonna start working on it earlier than planned?
Rayne: If I have the time between auditions, my show here and driving down to Starlight Shores for my other showā¦I dunno, I think I want to see how it goes with my career first and then take it from there.
For some time now, Iāve been wanting to open my own barā¦a place where people can come to unwind and embrace the cool vibes of the setting whilst forgetting all their troubles. Almost everyday I think about it; what itās gonna look like, where the bar will be, where the stage will beā¦but I think I should do one thing at a time and focus on this a little later, most likely when my current goal has been achieved.
Itās been a couple of weeks since I performed at the āBrotherhood of Fine Fellows Hallā and since then my mother returned to Appaloosa Plains to be with her beloved pets, *sad face* Iāve fixed up my house a little (thanks to my mum from the comment she made regarding the darkness of my home and the huge pay check I received from the show), I also treated myself to a brand new car!
But this isnāt even the greatest thing of allā¦āBrotherhood of Fine Fellows Hallā has asked me to be a regular which is so exciting, because since they have a second building here in Pearsonville Iāll be performing there instead which is great in helping me to achieve my goal in conquering this town.
Thereās also something else new in my lifeā¦ *cheeky grin* after weeks of searching and conducting interviews, Iāve finally found the perfect agent! Her name is Valerie Fletcher and Iāve been told sheās helped her previous clients achieve some amazing things!
So now that I have a steady show at a quite popular establishment this should boost my popularity here; Valerie thinks I should cut down my shows in Starlight Shores to at least one so that Iām not completely abandoning my fans there. She also got me to think about how I started off in Starlight Shoresā¦
Wellā¦I donāt think I can go back to doing sing-a-grams, but taking part in a SimFest or two is good for publicity. So thatās what I decided to do; Valerieās gave me the details of the next upcoming SimFest which is in a couple of days, so until then Iāve been taking advantage of my free time by spending some time with my loved ones.
Kerry & Zoeās Place
Zoe: So, howās the new agent?
Rayne: So far so good; she seems to know what sheās doing.
Zoe: Itās a start, but do you feel like some weightās been lifted off your shoulder?
Rayne: I do! I feel like I have more time to do things, especially now that I donāt have to travel to Starlight Shores so often.
Lela: So which gig did you decide to cancel?
Rayne: The coffee shop oneā¦itās a nice place nā all, butā¦how can I say this in a nice wayā¦
Lela: *in a snobby tone* You have higher standards now that youāve performed at the Brotherhood of Fine Fellows Hall! The girls chuckled.
Rayne: Well, tell me what you would do? Would you cancel your show at a big show venue where you can get paid at least 25K and upwards for a show at a coffeehouse thatās worth whatā¦15K!
Lela: Ok I see your point!
Kerry: So, are we gonna meet this agent of yours one day?
Rayne: Well if you guys come to the SimFest on Tuesday to give me some support, you guys will be able to meet her!
Kerry: Cool! *playing with the toddler* Can I bring Miss Tami along too?
Rayne: Sure! Itās a PG 13 event. You can even bring your new boyfriend who we havenāt met yet hint, hint!
Zoe: OMG have you not seen him? Iām sorry to say this about my girlsā man, but he is fine!
Lela: *sounding disappointed* Ohā¦how comes I havenāt met him yet?
Rayne: Yeah same here!
Kerry: Zoe hasnāt even met him, sheās seen a picture and thatās it!
Rayne: Thatās more than what weāve seen! The girls kept pestering Kerry about this new guy sheās dating throughout the rest of their meal. This led to good results as she agreed to invite him to the SimFest.
Tuesday 17th July 2018 (SimFest)
Because I wanted to be at Showtime Park a little early, Alex and the girls decided to come with and make a day out of it! (Iām so glad they were able to get some time off from work so I can have at least a few people cheering me on if all else fails). We found a nice spot by the stage where we set up shop and had a small picnic. The show was yet to begin so for the time being I chilled out on the blanket patiently waiting.
Rayne: So what time is Martin coming?
Alexander: Whoās Martin?
Rayne: Kerryās new man!
Alexander: Oh nice! Finally some more testosterone in this group! Rayne playfully nudged him. How did you two meet?
Kerry: At some barā¦he bought me a drink, we got to talkingā¦
Kerry: Thanks Lela but I wasnāt going to say anything else anyway!
Lela: Just making sureā¦
Alexander: Well Iām happy for you Kerry, I hope you have better success in this relationship than your previous one.
Kerry: Thanks Alex.
Lela: Oh please, heās just happy to have a guy to talk toā¦donāt you have friends anyway? She asked Alex.
Alexander: Yeah, but Iām not gonna bring them around you guys!
Zoe: And whyās that? Lela nodded in agreement.
Alexander: Why would I let my boys hang out with my girlsā friends?
Lela: And why would you not?...So if you and Rayne were living together and threw a partyā¦what, would you not invite your boys?
Alexander: Course I would, but in this circumstance where Iām out supporting my girl or at a similar outing like this I wouldnāt bring my guys along, it would just take me away from the main objective!
Zoe: You want to give your girl you undivided attention.
Alexander: Yeah!
Zoe: Aww thatās sweet!
Lela: Yeah but if me, Kerry and Zoe had significant others and brought them here would you not be giving most of your attention to them rather than Rayne?
Rayne: Cool. Do you want to go with them ma or are you gonna wait for me?
Susanne: I think Iām gonna go with the girls if thatās alright ladies?
Zoe: Course!
Susanne: Great! (She kissed her daughter on the cheek) Iāll see both of you soon!
Lela: Yeah donāt take too long to get ready now, you know how long the drive is!
Rayne:Ā We wonāt donāt worry. As the girls waved goodbye Rayne quickly fixed up her makeup whilst Alex helped to pack away some of her stuff. She then changed into something else before exiting the room.
1hr and 30 Minutes Later
Lelaās Place
A couple of weeks ago Lela offered to host the afterparty at her house; I wasnāt even thinking about having one, but when she said that I donāt have to do anything but attend, I said why not! I know sheās a party animal like Zoe, but I also think part of the reason why she offered to do this was because she recently moved into her new place after living with two girls and a baby!
Alexander: *stepping out of the car* Lelaās place is looking good!
Rayne: It does! Iām glad sheās finally moved in cause I know living with Kerryās baby and sharing a room with Zoe was not easy! Iām not saying theyāre hard to live with, but with that much personalityā¦
Alexander: Yeah I remember the stories. She lasted a long time though!
Rayne: She did! (Walking towards the house they stopped in front of the door). Are you ready?
Alexander: Am I ready? Are you ready?
Rayne: I was born ready! He kissed her on the cheek and opened the door to let her go in first.
People all over the house were greeting and congratulating me as I searched for Lela, my mum and the girls; thankfully someone knew where they were so, I made my way to the top floor with Alex following behind me.
Lela: Here she is! The lady of the hour! Everyone cheered as she walked through the crowd towards the bar.
Kerry: Letās take a selfie! Susanne and Alex moved to one side while the girls prepped themselves for the selfie.
Susanne: *handing Alex a drink* Here you go love.
Alexander: Thank you.
Susanne:Ā Join me for some fresh air?
It would be impolite to say no, so whilst they took their selfie Alex followed Susanne outside.
Susanne: So dear tell meā¦ (Alex waited patiently for her to continue) You seem like a nice young man whoās got his head screwed on and loves my daughterā¦how comes you havenāt proposed to her yet? Alex was quite taken aback by this; he never thought she would jump straight into something like that.
Alexander: *clears throat* Wellā¦to be honest Iām aā¦well I wanted to meet you first!
Susanne: And why is that may I ask?
Alexander: Well I wanted to meet the woman who raised Rayne into the beautiful and amazing woman that I have loved from the first day I met her.
Susanne: So why havenāt you proposed to her? Am I really the one whoās holding you back?
Alexander: Okay, if I tell you something you must promise not to tell anyone.
Susanne:Ā *putting drink down*Ā Iām listening.
About 5 minutes after Susanne and Alex went outside to get some āfresh airā Rayne noticed that they were nowhere to be seen. That was until Lela pointed them out to her.
Rayne: I wonder what theyāre talking about. *pauses* Do you think I should go andā¦make sure everythingās alright?
Lela: Rayne stop worrying theyāre fine; theyāre getting to know each other, isnāt that what you wanted? (It was what I wanted, but you know that feeling when you just want to be there for every conversation that your boyfriend has with your mother? Well thatās me right now).
Rayne: Yeah I guessā¦
Lela: Alright then, so drink one of these and enjoy! Itās your party after all! As Rayne began to unwind and be more involved in the celebration, Alex and Susanne came to join the rest of the crowd.
Alexander: *kisses Rayne* Hey babe.
Rayne: Hey. Everythingās alright? You and my mum seemed to of had a nice chat! *raises eyebrows*
Alexander: Actually yeah we did! Sheās amazing! She told me about her career, I told her about minesā¦
Rayne: Oh, niceā¦
Alexander: What? You donāt want me to hang out with your mother?
Rayne: I donāt mind, Iām glad you two are getting along!
Alexander: Cool. Iām gonna get another drinkā¦want one?
Rayne: *raising her half full glass* Iām good thanks. Alex kissed her on the cheek then headed towards the bar.
The party went on until the wee hours of the morning. Susanne headed back to Rayneās place a couple hours before the rest, which is when Rayne eventually let down her hair and enjoyed the rest of the night. So much so that Rayne and Alex could barely wake up in the afternoon to get ready for their lunch date with her mum.
Rayne: As hungover as I am I could probably eat all this butā¦this is a lot of food ma!
Susanne: I wanted there to be optionsā¦and Iām sure you two are starving after all that partying! I donāt know how you young ones do it.
Rayne: *taking a seat* With years and years of practiceā¦I hope you had a good time thoughā¦
Susanne: I did! It was lovely. Even the show; it wasā¦amazing sweetie Iām so proud of you.
Rayne: Thanks ma.
Susanne: So, since youāve completed two of your lifetime wishesā¦whatās your next goal?
This is it. Todayās the day. Itās a day when Iām finally able to sing my heart out and have my mother in the audience. Itās a day that will show and prove how far I have come in my career, and itās also a day when my dream becomes a reality and I get to share it with the ones I love.
Talking about the ones I love, itās also a big day for new relationships since later on will be the first time my mother and my boyfriend officially meet! Nerve racking I know, but I have to keep it cool otherwise Iāll have so much problems later on, on stage.
Bae cooked me a nice breakfast which actually tasted good, *claps* he also ran me a nice bath with my favourite bath salts from āThe Body Shopā so I could relax and unwind. My shows at 6 but Iāve to be there a couple of hours before for sound check and some other stuff before preparing myself (hair, makeup and clothes wise) for the actual show! *sighs*
After a couple more hours of relaxation on the sun lounger, I had to get myself ready for my drive down to Starlight Shores. Alex, my mum and the girls were going to meet me there a little later before the show.
45 Minutes Before Showtime
Lela, Zoe and Kerry arrived shortly after Alex and it didnāt take them long to chill out and enjoy the free drinks in the seating area. My mum was running a little late, but you know she gotta make a big entrance. *rolls eyes*
Kerry: How you doing over there? She asked Alex.
Alexander: Iām good. You?
Zoe: Ready to meet Rayneās mum?
Alexander: *breathes deeply* I think I am!
Kerry: Well you have nothing to worry about, Susanneās lovely!
Zoe: Yeah. If I ever get married I hope my mother in-law is as nice as she is! (The girls nodded her head in agreement).
Alexander: Good to know!
Lela: Right? She winked.
About 20 minutes later with roughly 25 minutes to spare before her show, Rayneās hair and makeup was complete and was now in the dressing area putting on her dress when her mother finally decided to show up.
Susanne:Ā Well hello ladies!
The girls put their drinks down and went to greet Rayneās mother. Alex also stood up but let the girls greet her first; Rayne was just about to put on her dress when she heard her voice. She put her dressing gown back on and went to make sure she was there to do the introduction.
Susanne: Oh sweetheart you look beautiful!
Rayne: *hugs mum* Wait until you see me in my dress!
Susanne: Well donāt keep me waiting!
Rayne: Before I do thatā¦Iād like you to meetā¦Alex! (Alex walked towards them whilst the girls stepped back to get a good view).
Alexander: *stretching his hand out* It is a pleasure to meet you Ms Collins! Susanne returned the gesture by shaking his hand.
Susanne: Oh call me Susanne! Itās nice to finally meet you love! *pauses* You are really a handsome young man!
Rayne: Hands off, heās mine! She joked before heading back into the dressing area to change.
Susanne:Ā Oh donāt be silly loveā¦heās too young for me!
Alex chuckled slightly as Susanne linked arms with him as they made their way over to the seating area.
It was a minute before showtime and everyone was by the stage waiting for the show to begin. The lights in the room dimmed whilst the ones on stage came to light and they knew it was time.
Rayne was amazing! She looked amazing too! The audience were engaged, Susanne was feeling mighty proudā¦it was everything that she dreamt of but much more!
After fulfilling the request of an encore, Rayne met the group back in her dressing room where they graced her with lots of praises, especially from her mother.
Susanne: Sweetheart! You were absolutely amazing! Watching you perform on the same stage that I performed on was mesmerising! *holds hands* I just want you to know that Iāve always been proud of your achievementsā¦but I couldnāt have been prouder! (Rayne leaned in to hug her mum).
Rayne: *tearing up* Oh mum, youāre gonna make me cry!
Lela: Itās a good thing you got on waterproof mascara!
Rayne: *blotting her eyes* I know right! *sniffle*
Lela: So, imma leave yaāll to gussy up and change and weāll see you at the after party yeah?
Before heading to the airport to pick up her mum, she did some last-minute packing and cleaning around the house; she had at least 3 hours to do this since the flightās only a couple of hours. After doing so she had no time to do anything else but leave as time was flying by like no oneās business.Ā Ā
Thankfully Rayne made it there on time as her mother had not yet come out until a few minutes later. After embracing for what felt like decades, I helped put her luggage into my car as we began our hour or so journey back to Pearsonville.
Rayne: Home sweet home!Ā
Susanne: Oh Rayne sweetheart you did good! The outside looks beautiful!
Rayne: Thanks mum!
Susanne: Youāre welcome luvā¦.being here brings back so much memories!
Rayne: Well you did live here for quite some time!
Susanne: I didā¦I did indeed!
Rayne: You know, I never asked why you left Pearsonville! She mentioned whilst making their way to the front door and into the house.
Susanne: I justā¦oh wow Rayneā¦I have to say, Facetime did not do your place justice; itās lovely! A bit dark compared to what Iām used to, but I like it!
Rayne: Thanks ma, Iām glad you like it! So you were sayingā¦
Susanne: Huh? Oh yes; itās nothing bigā¦I just wanted a change! Of course I was leaving everything behind, but I was retired and finally free to do as I please!ā¦Sometimes though I do feel like I made a mistake.
Rayne: Aww whyās that?
Susanne: Well since I moved to Appaloosa Plains Iāve missed so much! You and your career, your new boyfriendā¦
Rayne: Aww mumā¦ *moving in to give her mum a hug* I miss you too, but you shouldnāt feel guilty for doing something for yourselfā¦you deserve it!
Susanne: Well I feel better knowing you feel that wayā¦ (She squeezed her daughter a few seconds more before she loosened her grip and moved away slightly). Soā¦when am I gonna meet this new guy? You two have been going out for some time now!
Rayne: Yup! Ā Almost two years now!
Susanne: Wow, thatās a long time! *pauses for effect* So whereās the ring?
Rayne: Mum!
Susanne: Oh come on, youāve been together for two yearsā¦something must be right!
Rayne: What can I say? Itās just not the right time!
Susanne: But you two have talked about the future at leastā¦right?
Rayne: Course! We both want marriage and kids somedayā¦
Susanne: I think you might need to start making some hints luvā¦itās the only way for him to get a move on thingsā¦or maybe he might propose on your anniversary! Has he told you what youāre doing on that day?
Rayne: Nope. Not a thing. Come to think of it maybe he is going to propose on our anniversary, because last years he told me his plansā¦or maybe heās forgottenā¦
Once her mum was finished getting involved in her love life she showed her where things were (even though she could probably find them on her own) before putting luggage into her car. Mum followed behind.
Susanne: Are you sure you donāt want to stay for dinner? Iāll make your favourite cobbler!
Rayne: As tempting as that sounds I have a big day tomorrow and I need my beauty sleep.
Susanne: Okay. She briefly hugged her daughter goodbye and watched her enter the car and drive off before heading back inside.
Alexās Place
Whilst relaxing in bed messing about with her phone, Alex came in with a cup of hot chocolate with marshmallows and placed it on the bedside table before sitting beside her.
Alexander: So, mums all settled in?
Rayne: Yeah.
Alexander: Happy to see your mum again after all these years?
Rayne: Of course! And sheās finally gonna see me perform, althoughā¦I think sheās looking forward to meeting you more than watching my show!
Alexander: Really? Well we have been going out for quite some time now.
Rayne: Yeah we have havenāt we? Do you remember when our anniversary is?
Alexander: Course! July 20th! *pause* You thought I forgot?Ā
Rayne: You just havenāt mentioned itā¦
Alexander: I know lifeās been kinda hectic lately, *places his palm on Rayneās cheek* but Iāll never forget the day you came into my life! He kisses her on the lips.
Rayne: You know, sometimes I donāt realise how lucky I am!
Alexander: Well you better recognise! He joked which made Rayne smile a little as she gave him another kiss before snuggling up beside him.
Hey guys; so this is itā¦the first chapter of my new story. I hope those who take the time to read it enjoys it.
CHAPTER 1 (Part 1)
Although Iāve spent majority of my time in Starlight Shores pursuing my career, Iāve never worked up the courage to leave my current town āPearsonvilleā and return to my original home town. During my adolescence my mother moved here as she was finding it hard financially to remain in Starlight Shores, so this is where Iāve been ever since. Iāve performed a few shows here and there but Iāve yet to conquer this town and become known for my talents!
But Iāve been so conflicted recently as I want to continue working in Starlight Shores, but at the same time to be able to conquer Pearsonville, I must give it 100% which means I have to give up everything that Iām currently doing in Starlight Shores! So far 2018ās been really good to me; I have little jobs here and there such as presenting checks, attending ceremonies, I also have 4 steady gigs that takes over my weekend which leaves me with only 3 days to recuperate, catch up with my friends and spend time with bae which is why I think I would have to downsize on some or all of the things that Iām doing!
Itās a lot to think about, but for the time being I have something really important to get ready for and Iām so nervous!
The first thing is mine and Alexās 2-year anniversary which is coming up, so thatās excitingā¦Iām quite anxious to see what Alex has planned! *cheeky grin* And the second thing Iām really, really excited about is my upcoming show next Wednesday as my dream come true is becoming a reality! Part of the reason why I wanted to pursue a career in singing is because of this locationā¦itās the same location where I watched my mum perform alongside some great artists as a little girl and now the time is coming where I will be standing in the same spot on that stage singing my heart out to my beloved fans.
As Iāve been struggling to find the perfect outfit for my show (which hardly happens) my girl Lela joined me on a shopping trip to help solve my problem. Sheās familiar with show business as she works as a Stagehand, which means she knows her way round a stage, plus she loves fashion like me, so I knew sheād be the one to guide me in the right direction.
I took Lela to one of my favourite stores where I mostly buy my unique pieces of clothing. It took my girl Lela, a stylist and the store owner at least 25-35 minutes to help me find ātheā outfit and thankfully those 25-35 minutes didnāt go to waste as I had finally found it! After finding my outfit the stylist there showed me a few looks that I can do with my hair that I really liked, so now all I needed to do was find a pair of shoes, some accessories and that was me done!
After a long morning/afternoon of shopping, I treated my girl (and myself) to something to eat; we went to our favourite coffee house in the middle of town.
Lela: *sipping lemonade* What a day! I know what Iāll be doing when I get home!
Rayne: Same here girl, same here! *pauses* Thank you for coming with me though, I really appreciate it!
Lela: Aww no problemā¦but I think you should invest in a stylist! It would give you one less thing to worry about!
Rayne: It would...you know Iāve thought about it and it would relieve so much of my anxiety, cause I already do my own hair and makeup, I personally put myself out there promoting, organising and booking shows! Iām basically my own agent!Ā
Lela: And you know this would be a good time to help you balance your work and focus on your other goals! Hint, hint!
Rayne: It wouldā¦but then Iāll be stressing myself out finding a suitable agent and stylist!
Lela: Would you not rather have someone deal with the stress rather than you? Trust me itāll help you in the long run!
Lela was right, but I didnāt have time for that right now as I had this show to get ready forā¦maybe after the show Iāll start looking for one and take it from there; this would be my chance in getting a professional opinion on what I should do with my current dilemma.
A Few Days Later (Alexās Place)
Rayne: Babeā¦
Alexander: Yeah?
Rayne: Soā¦you know my mum is coming to town, right?
Alexander: Yeah to see your show; I know.
Rayne: Yeah soā¦I was wonderingā¦ (Alex lifted his shades and rested them on his forehead as he turned slightly in Rayneās direction with a āWhat are you up to?ā kind of look).
Alexander: Yeahā¦
Rayne: So, as you know she doesnāt have a place of her own her anymore, and I only have one bedroom at my houseā¦I was wondering, if maybeā¦I could stay at your place for the couple of days while she stays at mine!
Alexander: Is that all you wanted to ask? You know you can stay here anytime, I donāt know why Iāve to tell you that! (Rayne smirked as she sat up from the lounge chair and faced Alex). My place is your place babe!
Rayne: Well Iāve only stayed her for a night or two, but not for a consecutive amount of days! This is a big thingā¦it could make or break us! (She joked).
Alexander: Weāll be fine babe! (Rayne sat beside him and kissed him).
Rayne: Aww thank you babe; I love you so much!
Alexander: Love you too!
Rayne felt more relaxed now that there was one less thing to worry about, but then the more she thought about it she realised that this would be the first time sheās going to meet Alex! Due to past relationships not going well Rayne wanted to be 100% sure about Alex before introducing him to her mother, but since things have been going well thereās no time like the present!
Rayne: Are you ready to meet my mum?
Alexander: I am actually, Iāve been wanting to meet the lady who brought this beautiful woman into this world!
Rayne: *blushing* Aww, youāre too sweet, but reallyā¦are you not even a little nervous?
Alexander: Is there a reason why I should be?
Rayne: No of course not...but this is a big step for usā¦I know I would be nervous if I was meeting your mum!
Alexander: Well you donāt have to worry about that.
Rayne: I knowā¦ (There was an awkward silence between them while both parties tried to think of something to say).
Well I think thatās enough sunbathing for me! Iām gonna go and get ready to head to Starlight Shoresā¦itās a long drive after all! She kissed Alex on his cheek and headed into the house to get changed.
So I did it guys; this is the introduction of my story ofĀ āRayne On My Paradeā. Itās short and sweet which gives you an insight on her journey leading up to where she is now, so I hope you enjoy it.
26 years ago, I (Rayne Knox) was born in Starlight Shores, California; the place where peopleās dreams and aspirations come to thrive or crumble. You know when some people talk about how their child learnt to sing before they could even walk? Well I was one of them.Ā
My childhood still involved singing, dancing and musical instruments which led to my involvement in competitions that my mother would always sign me up forā¦donāt get me wrong I wouldnāt change a thing from my past as it has led me to where I am today, Iām just more appreciative of my accomplishments and the commitment my mother made even when she had a full-time job!
My mother was a musician until she went into retirement, so there were times when she would take me to work with her due to the lack of childcare (and the absence of my father) so I had the opportunity to watch some of the greats perform. Every show I gazed upon the more and more intrigued I became which guided me to my current profession and hobby.
After graduating from university, I went to auditions after auditions where I got rejected so many times; I performed my heart out for tips on those streets, Iāve performed sing-a-grams to so many people and at times I embarrassed myself by either tripping up and falling flat on my face or almost being set on fireā¦and these led to insults and many complains. However, through those tough times there were quite a few good ones like the first time I performed live on stage at my local coffeehouse and the crowd was shouting my name āApple Fretless! Apple Fretlessā.
I chose that name because even though I was shaking in my boots before every show, I couldnāt bring this bad energy to the stageā¦so I gave myself this persona who was never afraid and who was always ready to bring down the house with my vocals. It wasnāt easy, but through hard work, a lot of support and dedication from my loved ones, in less than a year I became a āVocal Legendā in my city.
Now even though my mum moved down south a couple of years ago, sheās still been there for me throughout this whole process as sheās always a phone call away when I need her. Ā My girls who Iāve known for quite some time now have been a tremendous support system through everything that life has thrown at me, whether it involves my career or personal life, and most importantly my biggest supporter, (after my mum of course) the one that I call my best friend, my lover and my soul mateā¦my boyfriend Alex!
Me and Alex have been partners in crime for almost 2 years now. From the moment I met him I knew it was meant to be. Heās so sweet, kind, loyal, supportive and very goal driven like me. Despite some of his flaws like his stubbornness and the lack of expressing his emotions, at the end of the day we all have flaws and I have learnt to love and respect them just as much as he does with mine. And this is why we have lasted so far!
Iāve achieved so much in my 26 years; Iāve won countless competitions, Iāve become a successful singer in my City who has been able to perform at private and big show venues like the āHoi Polloi Event Centerā, Iāve even had the opportunity to sing the National Anthem in front of our troops! So even though I have achieved my lifetime wish, there are new goals that have been set and Iām taking you all with me through this journey! Are you ready?
For the past couple of weeks I have been slowly adding my cc to my game and whilst doing so, I created a new sim and have been playing her ever since. Whilst playing her I thought about creating a story for her (since I wonāt be able to continue my previous story/ies just yet) and this weekend I made up my mind.Ā
So, so far I have came up with a name and created the cover, but Iāve yet to start writing it, so after the Blakeās photos have all been posted, youāll start to see some gameplay pics of Ms Rayne Knox on my main blog āsweetpawsour1013ā² until the storyās ready.
My Tumblr dashboard gets very few posts every few minutes and i want to have more variety and more posts to look at. I honestly keep refreshing my tumblr so much and theres not tooo many posts.

Hi allā¦long time no see lol! Finally chapter 4 is here for you to read. I know itās been a while since the release of the last chapter, so if you feel that you need a recap feel free to use the links (above and below). I hope you enjoy!
Itās been 2 weeks exactly since Layla and Dwayneās first date; because she has been busy with work and looking after her two kids, their 2nd date had to wait a while until she was free! Though they have been talking on the phone, Dwayne is still unaware about her āsituationā at home; Layla has been appreciative of this opportunity as it has given her more time to think about what to say and how to tell him about her two kids.
She likes Dwayne very much and doesnāt want to keep this secret for too long, so on Friday they are going on their 2nd date where she hopes to tell him.
The girls (Leianne, Rachel and Crystal were so excited and happy to hear how the date went when Layla called them; she told them about everything that happened on the date which kept them on the phone until the wee hours of the next morning.
They also hoped that Dwayne will have a positive attitude when Layla tells her about her kids because, if it doesnāt go wellā¦then it would be quite a shame as he genuinely seems like a nice guy!
- Friday 5th August 2011 -
Layla: Crystal, thanks again for being my hero tonight! If she knew she couldnāt watch the kids I donāt know why she had to call at the last minute! She complained.
Crystal: Itās not a problem girl; I love spending time with these two!
Layla: Thatās nice; if there are any problems donāt hesitate to call okay?
Crystal: Donāt worry, everything will be okay; just enjoy your date and donāt worry so much.
Ā Layla: Iāll try__see you later! She kissed her babies goodbye and made her way to the car.
For their second date they agreed to meet up at āAtlantis Central Parkā to get to know each other more at the Summer Festival; Dwayne is off on Fridayās and Layla finishes at 3, so they got to enjoy the beautiful weather before the sun went down.
They arranged to meet at the part for 4:30 and once again Dwayne was there before Layla was. This didnāt mean that she was late!
Layla: Hey! She called out as she waved to get his attention.
Dwayne: Hey! He got up from his seat and met her halfway to greet her. You look beautiful!
Layla: *blushing* Thank youā¦and you look_nice also!
Dwayne: Thanks! *brief silence* So what would you like to start off with?
Layla: *thinking* How about we walk around and the first thing that we both find interesting weāll do it?
Dwayne: Sounds like a plan! They walked together, side by side as they followed the path and looking around viewing what was available to partake in.
It wasnāt long before they found something that they both wanted to do; that was the best thing they did during their time at the summer festival. They spent at least an hour skating around the rink while talking and listening to the summer beats the park were playing; they even spun around a few times in the middle before Layla got a bit dizzy and they went to get a drink to cool off.
After their drinks they continued their stroll around the festival to see what else they had in store for them, which turned out to be a bull riding machine!
Dwayne: Whatād ya think? Think I can last?
Layla: Well thereās only one way to find out! *smirking* Dwayne sighed deeply as he hopped up onto the bouncy mat that was placed around the bull, he then managed to get himself on top of the bull; he anxiously waited for the bull to start moving and as the bell rang he held on for his dear life.
Layla cheered him on as she used her phone to film him during the 15 seconds he was on the bull for. While suffering from dizziness, he waddled his way off the mat and Layla gave him a helping hand.
You okay there?
Dwayne: Iām good_*shaking his head*
Layla: You did good! She praised as she patted the back of his shoulder. How ya feeling?
Dwayne: Much better!_That wasā¦fun. *he laughed* Ready for your go?
Layla: Me! I think Iāve gone through enough dizzy spells for one day!
Dwayne: You sure? You can do it on the easy setting!
Layla: *arms folded with a slight lean* And why do you think I canāt handle the setting you went on? Iām sure I could do better!
Dwayne: You just said you went through enough dizzy spells for one day!
Layla: But I felt like you were saying something else when you said that!
Dwayne: Okay, so how are we gonna settle this then?
Layla: Okay, if I stay on the bull on the same setting as what you just did thenā¦you have to win me something from the vending machine over there!
Dwayne: And if you loseā¦youāll have to give me a kiss_on the lips! āOf course he would ask for that!ā Layla thought to herself, but she was so confident that she was going to win she agreed to the deal.
Layla jumped up onto the mat, climbed up onto the bull and waited for the bull to move.
Layla: Watch and learn!
Dwayne: *takes phone out to record* Oh Iām watching! And as soon as the bull moved she clung to it and never let go until the bull stopped moving. She jumped off the bull and shoutedā¦
Layla: Yes; I did it! *dancing* I did it! I did it! You owe me, a prize! Woop woop!
Dwayne: You did good! He gave her a hi-five before helping her down. I guess I owe you a prize!
Layla: You sure do!
They walked over as slow as possible so she could regain her balance. Once at the machine Dwayne put a few coins in and tried his best to get her a toy, which he managed to do the second time round.
To end their fun day at the summer festival, they had their picture taken in the Photo Booth before departing towards the restaurant.
Layla: Sadly noā¦thatās why Iā¦cherish things more you know what I mean?
Dwayne: I do, and Iām sure your grandmother would be very proud of you, though Iām sure she forever will be!
Layla: *blushing* Thank you.
The waitress came back with their finest bottle of champagne and then left them once again after leaving the bottle inside the bucket of ice, since they havenāt finished drinking their previous beverage.
Layla: So earlier when I told you about my love for antiques you found that interesting! Why?
Dwayne: Ahh well that is actually because I have and interest in antiques also!
Layla: Now youāre just making fun of me!
Dwayne: Nah Iām dead serious! It was my mother that got me into it actually!
Layla: Really?
Dwayne: *nodding his head* Yeah! She drags me out every Sunday to go shopping for antiques!
Layla: But really and truly you love it so!
Dwayne: I guess the catās outta the bag!
Layla: *giggling* I guess so.
Their starters soon arrived where they discussed the presentation and the taste of the shrimps and how the champagne goes down well with them; they continued to chat away until their food was finished and taken away.
Layla: *cleaning her mouth* That was lovely; I couldāve eaten more of them!
Dwayne: *pouring them more champagne* They were delicious! And overhearing their conversation-
Waitress: Thank you; Iām glad you enjoyed your starters! Hereās your menus for the main course! Dwayne and Layla thanked the waitress just before departing from the table.
Dwayne: So do you normally eat this type of cuisine?
Layla: Occasionally. Like antiques I love my food also; I love to cook! What about you?
Dwayne: Sometimes; I love my comfort food though.
Layla: Whatās your number one favourite?
Dwayne: Oh gosh, it would have to be Goopy Carbonara!
Layla: Really? Okayā¦I guess mine would be Firecracker Shrimp!
Dwayne: Ooh_so thatās why you ordered it! So whatās catching your eye right now?
They discussed the meals on the menu until they decided what they were going to order; the waitress soon returned.
Waitress: Are you ready to order?
Layla: I guess so! You can go first this time!
Dwayne: Why thank you! Layla rested her chin on the palm of her hand while she admired Dwayne and got caught when it was her turn to order.
They continued to talk about food and some other stuff while they sipped on their expensive champagne and talked about other things; then when their main meal arrived it was briefly quiet around the table (you know how black people are already when theyāre eating lol) until Layla felt that it was too quiet and began a new topic.
Layla: Soā¦you know at least two of my hobbies and I know only one of yours.
Dwayne: So you want me to tell you another one of my hobbies?
Layla: If you donāt mind!
Dwayne: Well we are here to get to know each other!
Layla: Exactly!
Dwayne: Alright! So, I love sports- mainly water sports! I love to go boating when the weathers nice-
Layla: Oh nice; do you have your own boat or-
Dwayne: Yeah I do! Well itās my fatherās boat really, but since his passing Iāve now acquired it!
Layla: Oh Iām sorry for your loss!
Dwayne: Itās okayā¦I donāt even remember the guy, he died when I was quite young. But never mind that, what was we talking about? Oh right; hobbies! Well itās not really a hobby but gardening is a nice relaxing thing to do from time to time!
Layla: You continue to amaze me!
Dwayne: And why is that?
Layla: I like gardening too!
Dwayne: Itās seems like we have a lot in common!
Layla: Yeahā¦ *playing with her food* so maybe you can show me your skills sometime!
Dwayne: I would love thatā¦and maybe you could join me for a boat ride!
Layla: That sounds nice!
They continued to talk about their hobbies and such until they had finished eating their main course; a waiter took their dirty dinnerware away and the waitress came back.
Waitress: And how was the main course for you?
Layla: It was lovely thank you!
Dwayne: What she said!
Waitress: Iām glad you enjoyed it; could I get you two anything? Another bottle of Champagne? The dessert menu?
Layla: Ooo dessert!
Dwayne: Would you like some dessert?
Layla: I couldnāt!
Dwayne: Why not? The night is still young!
Layla: Ermā¦okay!
Dwayne: We can share itās no problem!
Layla: Is that okay?
Dwayne: Course! Iāll even let you have the last piece!
Layla: Awww!
Waitress: Two dessert menus coming up!
Dwayne: Thank you!
Waitress: No problem!
Layla: I think the gym will be seeing me sooner rather than later!
Dwayne: Why? You look stunning!
Layla: Yes, because I workout regularly!
Dwayne: Nah of course not! I know you will be beautiful in any size!
Layla: *sipping her champagne* Thank you!
The waitress returned with the menus and left them to discuss what dessert they should order to share; this took about 10 minutes to do so and about 15 minutes to receive their dessert.
Soon their chosen dessert arrived which looked delicious; Dwayne let Layla have the first bite.
Layla: Mmm_delicious! And with that note he helped himself to some of the Banana Cream Pie, taking a bit of everything.
Dwayne: This is quite delicious__Iām glad we chose this one!
Layla: I think it was me who chose thisā¦you was going to choose the Baked Angel Food Cake!
Dwayne: O-kay, okayā¦you did good; you can have all the credit on this one!
Layla: Thank you_but if it makes you feel better Iāll let you take some of the credit!
Dwayne: Really?
Layla: Sure! She answered him; she then slowly and seductively ate some of the cake with cream which caused Dwayne to freeze for a brief moment until the food disappeared into her mouth.
Dwayne:Ā *clears throat* Ermā¦thank you.
When they came to the end of the dessert, the thought of this date ending caused Dwayne to wonder and ask Laylaā¦
Dwayne: So will I be seeing you again? *he briefly pauses* Please say yes!
Layla: *holding her glass* Wellā¦I did have a lovely time tonight, soā¦I donāt see why not! She took a sip of her champagne.
Dwayne: Well that is the best news Iāve heard all day!
Layla: Yeah? She replied sounding surprised.
Dwayne: Yup__I like you and I would love to take this journey and see where things will go between us! And with that comment in mind Layla automatically thought about her kids! Should she of told him about them or was she right to wait and see how the date went before telling him? I guess youāre gonna have to wait and find out when Chapter 4 is out!

Tonight's the night...the night where all cards are on the table and will determine their future; Layla's mum was going to look after the kids for the night and take them to school and nursery in the morning so as soon as Layla was finished with work she could head straight home and get ready.
By 3:30pm Layla was at home getting ready for her date with Dwayne; she ran a nice warm bath, and while she waited she put her clothes, accessories, and shoes out then laid them neatly on her bed.
45 minutes later she was out of the bath creaming herself, as she had already shaved and washed off her facial. Then it was time for her hair and makeup; she took about what felt like and hour but was really like half an hour on her hair and spent even less time on her makeup.
Layla isn't really the type to be overflowing in makeup, she prefers the 'au natural' look; sometimes she adds a bit of colour, but it's not bold in your face type of colours.
*mobile rings*
She finished her final touch then came out of the bathroom and searched for her phone.
Layla: Where are you phone? Ah! Hey Rachel!
Rachel: Hey girl; Crystal's here too!
Crystal: Hey! Are you ready for your date?
Layla: Yeah; I'll be leaving about quarter past 6.
Crystal: I don't see why you won't let him pick you up!
Layla: Because he's a stranger; I don't know him and he doesn't know me! So for the time being, I will make my own way there and back!
Crystal: Alright girl...you do you!
Rachel: So what are you going to do for the next 45/50 minutes?
Layla: I'm just gonna chill...maybe talk to my kids before I go; we'll see! So I'll talk to you guys later as I'm sure you'll be expecting my call!
Rachel: Obviously!
Crystal: I look forward to it; have fun!
Rachel: Have a good time!
Layla: Thanks!
And Layla spent her last 45/50 minutes doing just what she told them until she rushed out of the house and made her way to Bistro Atlantis where their date will be taking place.
Layla arrived there 5 minutes early and hoped that she was not the first one there; she hates waiting around for people, but when she went inside and spoke to the host he informed her that the table will be ready shortly and then led her to the bar where Dwayne was also sitting, waiting for the table to be ready.
Dwayne: Layla you look beautiful as always! *he kisses her cheek*
Layla: Thank you! You know between you and me I was so glad to see your face just now!
Dwayne: And why is that? āCause it's been so long since you've seen this pretty face?
Layla: Because I hate waiting on people!
Dwayne:Ā I see...so you don't think I have a pretty face?
Layla: *laying her bag down on the floor and taking off her jacket; he helped her towards the end* Oh no don't get me wrong you have very nice features, it's just that, that was my reason for being happy to see you!
Dwayne: Thank you; I appreciate the compliment, can I buy you a drink?
Layla: Usually I would say no, but since this is a date, why not! I'll have a -
Dwayne: Excuse me, bartender!
Bartender: How may I help you sir? Dwayne made his order and within minutes their drinks were placed on a tissue beside them; just as they took a sip of their beverages the host came over to inform them that the table is ready.
When they got comfortable at the table they were given a menu each and soon after the conversations began; there were a lot of smiles, a lot of laughter and in between there were times of seriousness when it came to certain topics.
Layla: So what do you do for a living?
Dwayne: I'm a Psychologist.
Layla: Wow...how old are you?
Dwayne: *giving a small laugh* Why'd you ask?
Layla: I'm not saying that you can't be because you're young...but you look so young!
Dwayne: I'm 24.
Layla: You don't look it!
Dwayne:Ā Thank you; so how about you? What do you do for a living?
Layla: I work in business! Currently I'm the head of my department.
Dwayne: So is this something that you want to do permanently, or-
Layla: I just want to learn the ropes of things so that one day I can have my own successful business!
Dwayne: I see! Good for you!
Layla: Thank you.
Dwayne: So how long have you been with the business for?
Layla:Ā Oh my gosh *thinking* I think I've been there for 7 years now!
Dwayne: Okay, so what are your plans; once you've acquired the skills and knowledge of being a business woman, what line of work are you planning on doing?
Layla: I dunnoā¦I love collecting antiques and stuff, so maybe Iāll do that!
Dwayne: Interesting! What made you so interested in antiques?
Layla: My grandmotherā¦she had lots of beautiful antiques in her home which meant that there were a lot of things that I wasnāt allowed to touch! *Dwayne smiled* But I soon understood when I became older, and thatās why-
Layla was just about to mention her kids but stopped herself just before saying the word.
Waitress: Good evening, this evening I will be your waitress; are you ready to order your starters?
She came just in time.
Dwayne: Yes we are; ladies first!
Layla: Thank you; can I have the Firecracker Shrimp please?
Waitress: Okay, One Firecracker Shrimp! And you sir?
Dwayne: I think Iāll haverrā¦I think Iāll have the same.
Waitress: Okay thatās two Firecracker Shrimps coming right up; anything else I can help you with?
Dwayne: Yes actually, can you bring us the finest bottle of champagne that you have please?
Waitress: Of course sir!
Dwayne: Thank you!
Layla: Well youāre pulling out all the stops! Do you do this for all the ladies you entertain?
Dwayne: Nahā¦just for the ones I really like!
Layla: And how many special ones have there been?
Dwayne: Just one! *Layla blushed* So now before we were interrupted you was about to say āThatās why-
Layla: Ohā¦yeah. I canāt remember now, silly me! *nervously pulling some hair behind her ear*
Dwayne: Iām sure you still remember; Iām very good at keeping secrets! He had a kind of devilish yet innocent look on his face. Is it about your grandmother?
Layla: *scratching her eyebrows figuring out how to get out of this* Yeah ermā¦
Layla: 4ā¦theyāre getting her ready for big school!
Leianne: Aww thatās good!
Crystal: *putting her phone away* So you didnāt get any time to yourself this weekend? No phone call or anything? *the girls looked at her as if to say she wasnāt supposed to say it*
Layla: Whyād ya ask? Was I supposed to have had a phone call? Crystal looked at her sister then at Leianne.
Leianne: *looking at Rachel* Should she tell her?
Layla: Tell me what? Layla pretended as if she did not know, just to see what they were going to say.
Rachel: You might as well.
Crystal: *clapping her hands in excitement* This has been so hard for me to keep quietā¦but, you know that night at the bar when I spoke to that guy?
Layla: Dwayne.
Crystal: Yeah Dwayne; you remember his name!
Layla: I have a good memory!
Crystal: Nice! Soerrā¦we chatted and he basically was honest with me and said how he likes you and wants to get to know you-
Layla: So you gave this stranger my number and didnāt even tell me?
Rachel: He seemed like a nice guyā¦but I guess he wasnāt that interested if he didnāt call.
Layla: Who said I didnāt get a call?
Leianne: He called you?
Crystal: When? Did you talk to him? Did he ask you out?
Layla: On Friday evening when I was about to catch up with my Kardashianās!
Rachel: So you knew all along! Layla nodded.
Crystal: Well I know you love your Kardashianās, so I guess you didnāt talk to him long then; did you at least arrange a date or something?
Layla: Actually we spoke for a whileā¦it was nice; at the end of the call he asked me out on a dateā¦and I said yes!
Crystal: So am I off the hook?
Layla: Youāre off the hook Crystalā¦for now!
Crystal: Trust me you will thank me after your date!
Rachel: When is it?
Layla: On Wednesday! I have like 2 days to find something to wear and do something with my hair!
Rachel: Thatās what weāre her for! After work you can come by to my workplace and see if thereās anything you like there, if not we can go shopping tomorrow.
Layla: You know I have to pick up my kids after work right?
Leianne: You do know that your kids have a father right?
Layla: He finishes work at 6.
Rachel: Canāt he finish earlier? Or your mum! Iām sure your mum will understand!
For the rest of Laylaās lunch break they discussed some details for her preparations for the date before going their separate ways until later on, as Crystal and Layla will be meeting up at Rachelās workplace; Leianne will be at work.
On Tuesday afternoon, during their second lunch break the girls met Layla again, but this time they went accessory shopping with her which didnāt take up too much of their break, so as they had time to kill they went to ā which was nearby.
Leianne: I think youāre ready for your date!
Layla: You think so?
Rachel: Yeah! Youāve got something new to wear, you have new accessoriesā¦youāre more than ready for your date!
Layla: Then why am I feeling so nervous?
Crystal: āCause itās a natural feeling when youāre about to go out on a date! I always felt that wayā¦especially when I really liked the guy! *she raised her eyebrows at Layla*
Layla: He is cuteā¦and different compared to Leslie! Thereās just something about him you know!
Crystal: I get it! He genuinely seemed like a nice guy compared to the ones Iāve met! And I donāt think heās interested cause of his_needs; I think he generally likes you!
Layla: Thank you Crystal!
Crystal: Youāre welcome!
Leianne: *shaking her head* Youāll be fine; just take it slow and enjoy yourself!
Rachel: Yeah and just be yourself!
Layla: Who else am I gonna pretend to beā¦should I tell him about the kids or is it too soon?
Rachel: He doesnāt know? *Layla shook her head*
Crystal: Well me personally I wouldnāt tell him until the right time.
Rachel: And when would be the right time Crystal? When theyāre about to be married?
Crystal: Obviously not that far in the relationship! Just get to know him a bit and see what heās likeā¦then if thereās a next date then tell him then; I just think your first date is too soon!
Layla: Rachel? Leianne?
Leianne: I kinda agree with Crystal.
Crystal: Thank you!
Rachel: Really?
Leianne: Yeahā¦you wonāt know how the date goesā¦it might turn out good or it might turn out bad and youāll probably not see each other again, so what Crystal is saying is that you donāt have to tell him your whole life story now, see how the date goes and if it goes so well that you get another date out of it then ask him some questions about family and children if he doesnāt bring it up first, then tell him!
Layla: Wow!
Rachel: Yeahā¦I guess that would beā¦good. Crystal was feeling real good about herself right now.
Layla: Thanks Crystal!
Crystal: No problem, and there more where that came from!
*she winks*
After their interesting lunch, their hours break was coming to an end, so they soon said their goodbyes and went their separate ways, once again.

Dwayne: Hi, is this seat taken?
The last thing that Layla was thinking about was getting chatted up; she had more important things to be thinking about like her kids, her jobā¦how long the bartender is going to take to make these drinks! She didnāt even look at him.
Layla: Help yourself! The guy happily sat down and called the bartender to get her attention; within seconds she came and took his order.
Dwayne: Iām Dwayne by the way. He stretched his arm out and waited patiently for Layla to do the same.
Layla: Nice to meet you Dwayne. It was the quickest handshake Iāve ever seen; she shook his hand and turned the other way trying to get the bartenders attention.
Dwayne: So are you not going to tell me your name?
Layla: Boy you look like your young enough to be my baby brother! Iām sure there are some lovely, younger girls here rather than me!
Dwayne: But Iām not interested in those silly, young girls, Iām interested in mature women who have respect for themselves, women who are caringā¦independentā¦like you!
Layla: Boy you donāt even know me! The bartender came over and brought her drinks.
Dwayne: I would like toā¦if you give me some of your time!
Layla: *holding her tray with drinks* It was nice meeting youā¦Dwayne.
Dwayne: Why donāt I carry it for you? He kindly offered. Please? Itās the least I could do! Layla thought about it for a split second-
Layla: Iām goodā¦thanks! He watched her walk off to the table where her girls were until they looked back at him; he waved to them which caused them to giggle and look away, he then turned away with a smile on his face and took a sip of his āSapphire Samuraiā.
Leianne: Heās cute!
Layla: And too young! Iām not a cougar!
Crystal: Oh please, girl you look as young as I do!
Layla: Thanks *blushing* but still, I think you two would look good together! Why donāt you go and talk to him?
Crystal: You think? She turned to give the guy another look.
Rachel: I have no comment; trying to hook my sister up with a guy!
Crystal: Why not?
Layla: Yeah why not? Crystal fixed herself up as she got up from her seat; before walking over to him she asked Layla-
Are you sure youāre okay with this?
Layla: Why would I not be? Besides, my life is too hectic to be getting into a relationship!
Crystal: Well okay! She kissed Layla on her cheek and walked over to the bar.
Leianne: You know it doesnāt have to get to the relationship statusā¦a girl has needs!
Layla: Iām not that desperate! She replied, looking at Leianne. She then looked back at the two who seemed to be hitting it off.
~ A Week Later ~
After a busy Friday that involved working, picking up her children from school, feeding and entertaining them and finally getting them to bed, Layla had a moment to herself to wind down and relax.
Just as she sat down in front of the TV ready to catch up on one of her reality shows the phone ringsā¦sheās tempted to ignore it, but she knew she would feel guilty, so she picked up the phone and looked at the caller ID.
She was in two minds whether to answer it when she saw the unrecognised number, but curiosity took the best of her as she answered the phone.
Layla: Hello whoās speaking?
Dwayne: Hello is this Layla Iām talking to?
Layla: Whoās asking?
Dwayne: Itās Dwayne.
Layla: *in her head* Dwayne, Dwayne, Dwayneā¦do I know a Dwayneā¦wait a minute this canāt be-
Dwayne as in Dwayne from the bar the other night?
Dwayne: You remember me!
Layla: *ignoring the question* Are you stalking me or something; how did you get my number? Then she remembered. Crystal gave it to you!
Dwayne: Errr yeah. I was honest with Crystal and expressed how I felt about you; she got to know me a bit and eventually gave me your number! I didnāt ask for it but I will admit that, that was what I was after!
Layla: Why do you want to get to know me so badly?
Dwayne: Why would someone not want to get to know you? From our brief encounter you seem like a lovely woman!
Layla: Well thank you!
Dwayne managed to keep Layla on the phone for at least half an hour which Layla was enjoying, even though she didnāt get to watch her program; as the phone call came to an end he asked Layla out on a date!
Dwayne: Just one date and if you are still not interested, then I will take a hint and we wonāt have to see each other again!
Layla was unsure about this because of the age difference and the short amount of free time that she has in her life right now; she basically had to be forced out of the house this evening to be here! However, she knew Crystal and the girls would be disappointed if she said no after all of this, so she ignored her personal issues for one moment and said-
Layla: Okay.
He gave her his number, said good night and ended the call. In the morning/afternoon he gave her a call and arranged their date for Wednesday evening; after that call Layla had a pleased grin on her face and was in a bubbly mood all day!
~ Monday 18th July 2011 ~
During Laylaās lunch break she met the girls at Hoganās Deep Fried Dinerā to talk about her up and coming date with Dwayne; though they knew he had her number, they werenāt aware that he called Layla last night! So Layla took this opportunity to share her news.
Crystal: So whatās happening girl? She asked while busy looking at her phone.
Leianne: Yeah, I havenāt heard from you all weekend!
Layla: I know, the kids kept me busy this weekend.
Rachel: What were you guys up to?
Layla: Well on Saturday cause it was raining I had to keep them occupied all day; I did lots of cleaning and washingā¦then on Sunday I helped Kayla with her homework-
Crystal: Kayla has homework! How old is she again?
On the 1st January 2007 their first child who they named Kayla Gibson was born at 8:21am weighing 7lbs 4 ounces; it was the happiest and most special moment for Layla and Leslie that theyāll never forget; honestly that was the only happy and special moment that they had for at least six months while adjusting to parenthood and balancing it around their day-to-day activities.
At one point Layla felt as if this was it! She was in a way preparing to be a single mother because their relationship was turning sourā¦and as the weeks went by Layla was always telling herself that itāll passā¦this did not happen.
They were in rough patch and whatever Layla said or done it was not helping; as Kayla grew, Leslie found himself away from home longer, spending time at work or at the local bar drowning his sorrows.
When Kayla was six months old Layla had enough; she had his bags packed and was ready to kick Leslie out, but Leslie felt the opposite. He knew he had hardly been around and he also knew that when we was around he wasnāt quite the happy bunny he usually was.
Layla did not really want him to leave, but she thought it would be the best thing to do unless he was willing to get help and that was something that Leslie was willing to do to save their relationship; he wanted to be a great father, but somehow he just found it hard toā¦connect with his daughter.
So Layla and Leslie went and got help which soon made things clear for the both of them; Leslieās relationship with his late father (though they did not really have much of a relationship) was the partial cause to his behaviour. The other cause to his behaviour was because he was suffering from PND (Postnatal Depression).
Layla felt terrible, if only she knew she wouldāve been supporting him rather than having a go at himā¦but neither of them knew! Well Leslieās problems stems from his relationship with his father, but it is also from his worries about their finances and the lack of attention from Layla as the majority of her attention is now on their baby.
So with the help that their therapist provided, Leslie was soon starting to feel better and less stressed about their finances, he was starting to bond with his little girl who he loves incredibly and he and Layla were making sure to have alone time without the baby so that he doesnāt feel left out.
And they enjoyed their alone times so much that between the ending of September and the middle of October Layla was starting to feel different, so much so that by the time she realised she had missed her period; she took a pregnancy test and found out that she was about 4 weeks pregnant with their second child!
Surprisingly after their rough six months, Leslie was overjoyed with the news! But this time round Leslie wasnāt around as much as he was when Layla was pregnant with Kayla; at the time Leslie was a ā2ND Unit Directorā who was only supposed to be working four days a week but was mostly away seven days a week shooting, so he was hardly able to take time out and attend certain things like doctorās appointments with Layla.
At times when it was getting close to Laylaās due date she believed that Leslie wasnāt going to be there for the birth, but when their second child (which was a boy) was born on the 25th May 2008 at 12:46am Leslie was there during the whole labour.
As Leslie's career was a bit quiet during the first few months of their son Kallumās life, he was home early and spent most of his three days spending it with his kids, but when a new movie was coming into production the same thing happened again and it took Layla two years this time before she could not take it anymore and ended their relationship.
By the time Layla came back from her morning stroll with the kids, Leslie had left with all of his belongings.
Leslie was heartbroken but he understood completely; heās a workaholic, heās obsessed with his job more than he is with his children and thatās not good. Although things did not work out for them after being together for six years, they have remained friends for the sake of their kids.
For a whole year (give or take a few months) Layla was a single mother to two children. But she was a damn good one; a lucky one too as she had her mother and her best friends supporting her throughout all of it which gave her the chance to get back to work and focus on her careerā¦even up to the point when Layla first met her future husband!

Layla: Iām too old to start again!
Dwayne: Youāre only as old as you feel! There are many women out there who are your age, some are even older than you are and they are doing it!
Layla: Thatās them Dwayne; Iām not them women thoughā¦Iām me! A 37 year old woman with two kidsā¦I aināt got time for that!
Dwayne: I knew that if I get involved with an older woman thereās a chance that thisāll happen, but I thought after we got engaged and surely after we got married that maybe she is open to it!
Layla: You didnāt even talk to me about it! You never brought it up not once!
Dwayne: I did bring it up actuallyā¦I guess you just werenāt listening! Cause maybe then we wouldn't be in this situation! *
*he walks away*
All this timeā¦four years and not once did we ever talk about having a babyā¦he claimed that he did bring it up, but once in four years; how is someone supposed to remember that? I know right! Four years and nowās when he decides to talk about this.
Though Iām flustered, I donāt want to lose my husband because of this, but I feel like Iāve been there and done that twice! My children are now 7 and 8, Iām finally getting close to where I want to be in my career so thereās no time to be bringing a baby into the mix!

It was another sunny day as usual in Atlantis and our girl Layla who was 26 at the time was hanging out at the beach with a couple of her friends on a Sunday afternoon. She was soaking up some vitamin D, lying on her beach towel as she listened to the sweet music the DJ was playing on the radio; one of her friends were sunbathing with her while the other two were swimming around in the ocean.
So Layla and her friend was minding their own business when she felt the sun briefly disappear and something touch her leg; after hearing a thump her and her friend sat up to see what it was.
Leslie: Oh my gosh Iām so sorry, I didnāt see you there!
Layla: Oh thanks!
Leslie: I didnāt mean nothing like that causer...you are quite attractive-
Layla: So what was you looking at then if you werenāt looking at me?
Leslie: I was doing some filming for my movie andumā¦I guess I was getting into is so much that I wasnāt looking where I was going! I apologiseā¦are you alright though?
Layla: *Dusting the sand off her legs* Yeah Iām fine.
Crystal: Iām fine too thanks for asking!
Leslie: Iām Leslie by the way; Leslie Sanders *stretching his arm out*
Layla: Layla; Layla Gibson.
Leslie: Thatās a beautiful name Laylaā¦well it was nice to meet you. He got up and walked back to where he was and just before he got to the people he was filming, he glanced back at her where their eyes briefly met before Layla shyly fixed her hair and turned away.
Layla: *looking at Crystal* What?
Leianne: Hey what was going on here?
Crystal: Laylaās got an admirer!
Layla: Oh please! If he was interested in me he would've at least asked me for my number!
Rachel: Where is he? (Crystal pointed in the direction he was in and the girl looked.) Heās the one in the purple vest! As soon as the guy turned to get another look at Layla he saw eight eyes looking back at him, so he quickly turned his head back around before leaving with his crew.
Leianne: Heās cute!
Crystal: He is smitten with herā¦he didnāt even acknowledge me!
Rachel: Oh please Crystal, you are 19 years old okayā¦besides, you have a boyfriend anyway! Crystal cut her eyes and laid back down on her towel.Ā
Leianne: Why didnāt you go and talk to him?
Layla: What for? If he was interested in me, he wouldāve stayed a bit longer and spoke to me but that was not the case!
Because Leslie was too cowardly to ask her out and Layla was too stubborn to go and talk to him, it wasnāt until a few weeks later when Leslieās friends could not take him talking about her constantly that they took matters into their own hands and looked her up.
So with a lot of convincing from Leslieās friends, Layla agreed to go on a date with him; they met and had their date at M. Le Dinieās Mansion; at first Layla did not seem interested at allā¦however, they ended up having a great time getting to know each other! Their date was such a success that they even made plans to go on another date!
After becoming official and being in a committed relationship for three years, Leslieās work in the directing branch was being noticed, Laylaās career was starting to get somewhere in the company that she was working with and they were also expecting their first child together!
During these nine months their relationship was put to the test; there were tears of joy, tears of sadness, laughter and a few rounds of shouting matches. But the good overcame the bad as Laylaās fears did not come true; Leslie was involved in almost everything, he went to all of the classes, he went baby shopping with Layla even though thatās not his cup of tea and even at the birth of his first child he was there with the video camera, filming the whole thing!
