OKAY. GUYS. Seriously. This was my favorite trip by far and I have never been so taken away, literally breathless!!Ā
So this was my trip to Glacier national park and if you have anywhere you want to go let this be it!! I spent 6 days here and have never been so relaxed, so mindblown.Ā
So there are tons of parks and we stayed in two and at the moment I canāt remember the names. Basically you have to find a spot if youāre camping, book in advance if possible. If itās full on the website KEEP CHECKING. We refreshed and refreshed every day until spots opened up. Some you can go and get a place but you have to go early and fill out the form. Its $20 every day to stay in the parks for camping and I believe $10 per vehicle to enter the park.
Okay, so the hikes firstly are incredible. Of course we had to go see the glaciers so we did a small hike the first day, saw some moose which being from Texas I was amazed. Like a little kid seeing santa for the first time, seriously.Ā
The next day we went up to Glacier peak but took the Grinnell route. So we took some of those electrolyte packets with us for our water, if you end up running out you can seriously get water from the stream. Itās drinkable and so refreshing! But itās not often they show up. I get dehydrated very easily and pretty tired fast, so that was really handy plus lots of snacks.
I canāt tell you how amazing the sky at night looked at 2 in the morning! I woke up randomly one night and just amazed.Ā
So, one thing you should do is get bear spray though, we didnāt see any bears at all, we met a lady who did and it was above her kicking dirt. Lol?? We saw tons f wildlife and the instructors are out there everyday telling you where theyāve spotted bears or other wildlife. Donāt be me and try to pet the moose...Even though I really wanted to.Ā
I recommend getting up early to go down the sun road, the sunrise is the best from there and it is an amazing drive. Iāll post some videos I took after this. Just...incredible. There are tons of shops and areas for you to hang out at or even do some kayaking, canoeing and other things if you want to get out of the solitude lifestyle. Everyone is really friendly.Ā
Oh, I forgot. We flew into Salt Lake because it was insanely cheap and drove the 12 hours to Glacier. $79 compared to $300...yeah. The drive in itself was amazing and really cool to see some small towns on the way.Ā
Anyway there was a lot more photos but these are great highlights! I have never been so happy in my life when I went here. I did cry on the trail back to camp because I was breaking in new hiking shoes like a fool. Also got hangry and lack of sleep made me super cranky. HAHA. This trip also helped me make my final decision to pursue my degree into Environmental Engineering! It was amazing thatās all. Just go seriously
