Switch glanced about, noticing all the artifacts and notes he had left lying about. The huge pile of books over where the table was supposed to be. “Well, I am a traveling wizard, of sorts. This is simply my current ‘base of operations’. I tend to move about periodically. Never really stay in one place, or on one world, for too long.”

"I see, I spend most of my time in the human world, avoiding my family, however my cousin recently turned his back on my kind and joined the hunters in order to not be killed himself" Icus said with a sigh

Switch nodded. "Many try to walk that path. Very few live past their usefulness. Once the hunters have whatever they want with him, they'll discard him. At least, that's how most of them operate. Can't really say all. Different Timelines have different agendas."

“Yes, yes, give me a sec! Seriously…where the heck did I put those notes?” He muttered. He straightened with a sigh. “No matters.” He walked back over to Icus. “Now, hold still. It may hurt a little, but I’m going to block most of the pain.” Reaching out, he grasped his friend’s shoulder, and placed his other hand right on where his arm used to be. His hand began to glow, and power swirled about the room. Slowly, he began pulling his hand away, watching as a new arm began to form as he did.

Icus watched as his arm reformed, he winced in pain for a moment, "Incredible, you have my thanks" he smiled happily, "So, what did you see in that mans eyes?"

"Enough, for now." Switch replied. "I learned that you are, by no means, an ordinary vampire. And that you are a very...important being." He grimaced and clutched his arm as the spell ended.

"I am many things, good prince. I was born into a race of ShapeShifters. One look in someone's eye, and I could know everything about them if I wished to. However, due to circumstances, some beyond my control and others of my own choosing, I am much more than even that. Just be assured that I am also a wizard, and that I am a vessel for half of a god's soul." Switch answered. He went over to a small table, piled high with notes and notebooks, as well as an old style ink quill. He began rummaging through them, looking for something.

He led his friend down the street, taking several twists and turns, before entering a small motel. "It's not much, but it suffices. Besides, I'm rarely here anyway." He turned and carefully inspected the vampire's wound. "Hmm...it wasn't a clean cut." He shrugged. "Not that it would've made this any easier. Fortunately for you, I've already created a spell specifically for regrowing lost limbs."

“Obviously.” Switch replied. “Although I did spend some time as one, but that was only because I wanted to. Humans are such frail creatures.” Switch stared into the man’s eyes. “Ah, so that’s why you’re after him.” He smirked. “I’m sorry to say, but I can’t simply let you succeed.”

Icus watched curiously as he was still slightly out of it, he moved closer to his new friend, "Hmm?"

Moving casually, he helped his new companion to his feet and headed out of the bar. Turning deliberately to the left, they walked on as though they were just headed to another destination. Moving quickly, Switch whirled, a dagger glinting in his left hand, and sliced the first man. The poor fellow crumpled like a ragdoll, eyes clouded over in death. He grasped the other by the throat and held him bodily off the ground, pinned to a wall, the dagger at his throat. “This dagger once belonged to the goddess of death. With a mere prick of your skin, I can kill you.” Switch growled, his eyes slightly glowing with anger in the dark. “Now, tell me, why are you after our friend here?”

Icus watched, fighting the urge to feed off the man on the floor, he looked at the man being held on the wall trying to work out who he was, but he couldn't think straight in his weakened condition.

Icus stared at the man for a few moments, "Got tangled up with my cousin and he ripped my arm off, he turned his back on the entire vampire race and joined the hunters" he downed his pint and sighed.

He was staring into his pint, he was breathing heavily, his fangs on show but everyone was avoiding him due to his appearance so no one saw his fangs. “Fuck this life” he said rather loudly to himself half drunk.

"You're telling me." The man next to him replied. He swigged the rest of his drink and signaled for another. "And why do humans always have such weak stamina when it comes to alcohol?! I mean, I drink the hardest liquors, and I barely feel a tingle." He frowned. "Come to think of it, I never feel a tingle. No matter how much I drink.....really sucks sometimes...." He turned to the man beside him. "So, what's eating at you, kid?"

Switch gave a slight nod. “And you are a…ah. A witch. Although I wouldn’t dare call you a mere witch, now would I.” He finished off his tea and bagel. “While I smell the human in you, it’s all but drowned out by the presence of magyck.”

Trinity nodded and leaned back in her chair, pulling a pencil out of her pocket and twirling it around with her fingers. “That is not the first time someone has said that to me and it is certainly not the last.”

"Tell me something, my new friend, what do you sense of me? I have told you a little of myself, but if you don't mind, I'd like to know what you can tell about me just on your own." Switch gave her a smile, folding up his maps and placing them into pack that was on the chair next to him.

Switch couldn't help but groan. "A deity...why do I keep running into deities?" He muttered, rubbing his temples. He sighed, then gave a polite bow. "I am many things, Loki. I am at times a man, a cat at others, and an amphithere when angered. But mostly, I am simply myself. Shapeshifter, master wizard, and Timeless."

Switch nodded. “There are very few that do, seeing as most were separated an eon ago. Again, much of what I know, I cannot speak here. But basically, all of this…” he gestured around them, “is all part of this Timeline. Here, now, at this very moment, this is all existing within this Timeline. You were born into it, and you are bound to it. Meaning that you age, you grow, you belong. That no longer applies to me. While I still exist within Time, I am not bound to it. I do not age. My race was already a long-lived raced, but I haven’t physically aged since I made that wish. Time, it seems, has all but stopped for me. Yet I also no longer belong. In short, I am what is called a Timeless.”

“Interesting…” She commented as she finished off the rest of her tea. “Sounds like I learned something new today.” Trinity chuckled softly and gave a light shrug. While she knew quite a bit from living for 56 years, she did enjoy learning new things. This was certainly one of them.

Switch had not been having a very good day. Really, though, he couldn’t even begin to understand when it all started to go bad. He wasn’t sure if it had been getting on the wrong end of a witch’s broom, or if it had been setting the said witch’s broom on fire. Regardless, he now found himself trapped as a large cat. Not that he couldn’t shift back. Oh, he could. It would just mean that he’d soon be found by the witch, as well as most of her coven, soon after doing so. Which is why he could now be found sulking on a low stone wall, seeking shelter under a small overhang from the rain.

Walking along the small stony path his collar popped up he hears the loud sullen purr of the cat and stops solidly in place. He notices a few other people staring in one direction, directly to his right. Perhaps he shouldn’t have woken up today, perhaps that feeling of ‘stay the fuck in bed’ was all too correct. Looking over slower than he’d ever felt he’d moved before his blue eyes go wide and he asks the question aloud, “I’m not hallucinating am I?” A man behind him responds assuring him he wasn’t before running off, John turns slowly toward the big cat and chuckles, “Fuck this … I’m going home.”

"I really wouldn't go that way, if I were you." The cat growled. "That's where I last saw those damn witches. Still throwing their tizzy fit." Switch shuddered, shaking out the little rain that was hitting him. He growled again and stared hard at  the man before him. "As for you, I can smell the magyck in your blood. Among other scents."

“The fully story is long, and not for this place.” He glanced around as he finished off his tea. “Too many ears here. But for now, suffice it to say that I made a wish, the wish was granted, and none of us expected the repercussions. The biggest being my being severed from my Timeline.”

Trinity arched a brow and crossed her arms over her chest. She understood not talking about it there since there were a few other people in the coffee shop, but the ‘Timeline’ thing was new to her. Trinity knew about other dimensions, but Timelines? Not at all. “Severed from your Timeline? I’m sorry… Timelines are something that I know nothing about.”
