I think I would have loved the forgiveness route a lot more if Rika faced legal repercussions. I’m glad she finally got her act together and what not but that doesn’t erase all of the very illegal stuff and wrong she did. Also some people don’t move on by forgiving and that’s okay, it’s okay to not forgive someone for the pain and abuse they caused you.

I appreciate like. The fact cheritz did smthn for us yes, but like that doesnt mean they can get away without being criticized and now its the time we criticize their abuse apologism. Like we dont gotta sugarcoat things. They’re a company selling a product in the end.

This entire AE, the dlc, all are filled with abuse apologism. People calling it out are abuse victims or mentally ill ppl themselves so rather than trying to defend a company and get upset with us for rightfully speaking up and bringing up these concerns, LISTEN TO US! This might in the end help the company not repeat the same mistakes and learn why the dlc and AE were so offensive.

Why is it okay for us to remain silent and “not hurt their feelings uwu” when they’ve hurt the feelings of their fans by sending the message they HAVE to forgive an abuser for them to be at peace and grow and move on. The things rika has done have no justification, and they’re not things one should forgive someone over. The fact you tell yoosung he’d have to forgive rika one day when he’s actually hurt for all the bad shit she’s done is incredibly shitty. The fact they then have him read one intro to psych book and have him come to the conclusion of “rika abused ppl but shes mentally ill so it was an accident :/ she had a rough childhood :/” while forgetting his actual feelings of hurt and betrayal that simply is so disappointing. The ENTIRE RIKA DLC, the whole “yes she did this but look at what she had to go through isnt that sad :(” feel to it and the ultimate shoving of the blame on a character whose sole purpose was to take the blame for rika’s shit and die with them. The LENGTHS cheritz goes to to try to make u feel bad for rika or guilty of even judging her. It’s sickening. It’s disgusting. It’s disappointing.

I get cheritz wanted to send a positive message about letting go, but there are things one simply cannot let go just like that and this wasnt the situation to apply this message to. The idea that a criminal should be like understood because theyre mentally ill is a thing that happens irl and it’s so fucking harmful. Murderers, abusers, rapists. These people are undeserving of their victims’ forgiveness. No matter how u wanna look at it, these are unexcusable actions. I’m incredibly BEYOND disappointed at cheritz for the abuse apologism. They deserve the criticism they get.

V fans, mystic messenger fans in general, fans who are abuse victims and mentally ill themselves, we deserved so much better. Don’t just accept what u get. We paid for this, we had the idea that it was gonna be v centered. It was advertised as v centered. We are customers rightfully upset with the final product. So if u guys could stop acting like us being upset w the product is “too mean to cheritz” and try to see it from the perspective of those who have been in abusive situations and are mentally ill themselves that’d be much appreciated.

So far, all I see after playing this Valentine updated is:

1. Cheritz put in a new person named Mika so that we can lay all the blame on her instead of Rika and easily feel sympathy for “Cheritz’s golden girl”.

2. Cheritz WOULD NEVER want V and MC to truly be together. I am sure some of you already smell it since his route but here - in his AE - it’s as clear as crystal.

After over a year of waiting, this is what I get? No wedding CG, no propose CG, not even a kiss CG, but there are TWO ROMANTIC CGs of V with Rika (in Rika’s Behind Story)? Excuse me but WTF?! I paid for what I play, why couldn’t I get some sweet CGs with Jihyun the mint boy?

And an ADOPTED daughter? Nothing wrong with the adoption itself but may I ask WHY NOT AN OWN CHILD OF V X MC? What’s the point?

V’s After Ending is more like: V cameo After Ending cuz he wasn’t there with us 95% of the time.

If Cheritz shipping V and Rika that hard, then don’t even made a V’s route from the beginning. They keep sticking that woman around him in almost every CGs, every events, even their stories released on the same day - VALENTINE day.

Convince me Cheritz didn’t do all of these on purpose ^^ No, thank you!

V’s After End - Where the Message Fails

So I have now gone through both the Forgive and Judge ends of V’s After Ending, and throughout my playthrough, there was something that I felt just wasn’t working. Now that I’ve completed the entirety of V’s After Ending (or shall I call it Rika’s After Ending, because that’s what it felt like), I want to talk about what makes this ending unsatisfactory.

Before I start, I just want to say that I still really appreciate Cheritz. I can see how hard they have worked on this game. They have tried hard to address certain issues and discuss messages they want to send. The way they handle these issues is very debatable and done poorly in ways, but considering this game is first and foremost made in South Korea where the issue of mental health has quite a ways to go, props to them for trying at least?

Some of the messages they were going for in this After Ending are interesting and can be valid in more minor scenarios. The thing is… I strongly believe they do not work in the context of Rika and what she has done.

Basically, this game makes you either forgive Rika and be sympathetic to her, or makes you feel bad and as if you are being cruel if you do not.
