About a month ago KDN threw in a special feature which allows you to summon monsters to fight by your side. After some time I’ve finally thrown together a guide for this
What are Mercenary Monster Pets?
The Mercenary Monster Pet (MMP) is a special fighting companion that a player can summon to aid them in their quest against evil. MMP’s can be any enemy in the game, ranging from lowly Goblynn to Jasmine to Kasarana or Geraint.
There are Four grades of Mercenary Pets
>Green grade (Three options)
>Blue grade
>Epic Grade
>Unique Grade
MMP’s can be obtained four different ways, depending on what you are going for
1. You can get a free green grade MMP of your choosing from Sanders
2. You buy either a green grade or blue grade with daredevile fair tickets that you get for completing the events there (boss rush, danger dash, etc.). Green grade is 25 tickets and you pick which one you want – however, blue grade costs 80 tickets, is in a pouch, what you get is random, and you must be level 80 to get them
3. To obtain an epic grade or unique grade, you’ll need to synth the blue or green ones and hope you get lucky
4. Buy it off the mp :U
The MMP will first show up in your regular inventory. Rightclicking it will add it to your monster list. Once you do this you CANNOT put it back into your inventory! So if you want to sell don’t add it to your monster list!
What kind of MMP’s are there?
Green Grade – Goblynn, TK JR, and blue clone of TK JR
Blue grade- There is way too many to list, but, this grade can include Jasmine, Elena, Hobuster, Ice shaman ghoul, and TK JR (again…)
Epic Grade – Kasarana, Nerwin, Teramai, Varnak, Ignacio (ogre form), and Belin
Unique Grade – Velskud, Geraint, Argenta, Iona, and Kalahan
What does it mean to Synth an MMP?
To obtain a MMP of epic or unique grade (other than just straight up buying it, which is expensive), is to synth them. Yes, like the costumes. But instead of using nx to obtain these special monster synthing tablets, you use 80 tickets and buy them from the Daredevile Faire Shop. You can only synth two monsters once BOTH have reached level 20. You level MMP’s by doing dungeons and nests either solo or in a duo. What you get from synthing them is random, but you have a higher chance of getting epic/unique if at least one MMP is bluegrade
Leveling your MMP is much like leveling your little pet that picks up items. They will gain 1/10th of your exp of any dungeon or nest. As you level up an MMP, they will gain more abilities (For Example., Goblynn can learn a fire charge skill). The best method to leveling I found was to do 50-60 abyss dungeons, or mentor someone and do 60-70 master dungeons. Mentoring can also become useful when doing lower level nests to avoid hefty repair costs.
Some special notes:
MMP’s can be summoned in almost any dungeon EXCEPT for the following:
Hero’s Battlefield/Chamber of Heroes
Any party that has three or more members in it
MMP’s can be summoned in the following areas but will NOT gain exp in the following:
MMP’s gain reduced exp if
They die and you don’t resummon
What are the benefits of having an MMP?
MMP’s can take aggro off you
Depending on the grade and dungeon, they can actually do a fair bit of damage. Even doing level 50-60 dungeons on master, my Goblynn pet was able to solo mobs on his own.
Certain MMP’s can provide ice stacks, instant SA breaks (even on nest bosses), provide buffs, etc. As they are only summonable in 1-2 member parties, they’re there to make up for a lack of pt buffs you would have with more members.
Who the hell wouldn’t want to have Kalahan on their side? *dreamy sigh*
I’ve included some links to a few of the MMP’s to see them in action
