Summary:
Words: 2,597 (three words away of 2,600, it kills my perfectionist side)
“Who would have thought that this rebel called Wei WuXian would now be married with HanGuang-Jun, a male cultivator from nowhere else but the Cloud Recesses.” The smirk on his lips was sharp. “What do you have to say, Wei WuXian?”
Wei WuXian simply shrugged, a shameless smile pulling at the corner of his mouth. He didn’t feel embarrassed by his shidi’s words, on the contrary, he latched onto Lan WangJi’s arm, sending a smug smirk at Jiang Cheng.
“I can only say that I was wrong and that, if I knew I would be this happy with HanGuang-Jun, I would’ve declared to him when we were young.”
Jiang Cheng seemed even more pissed by his answer, his cheeks tinting a shade of pink when Wei WuXian pressed a gentle kiss on his husband’s fair cheek. Lan WangJi didn’t react at all, at least to Jiang Cheng’s blind eyes, but Lan XiChen and Wei WuXian noticed that light blush latching onto his white earlobes, spreading through the shell of his ears.
They both chuckled at the sight, leaving Jiang Cheng narrowing his eyes in confusion and Lan WangJi avoiding looking at anyone in that quiet place somewhere within the Cloud Recesses, where fresh air rushed between the trees, making their leaves brush against each other, creating a peaceful melody that surely made the four men having some kind of a picnic, relax, shielded from the summer sun.
Lan XiChen certainly never thought he’d be part of something like this, but looking at his brother, he’s glad. Happy that Lan WangJi was finally able to touch the happiness that was once stolen away from him and that still haunts Lan XiChen from time to time, between another amount of things that haunt him now, because he helped to annihilate the love of his brother’s life.
However, he likes to think that that is part of the past. Lan WangJi would never hold grudges against his big brother and Lan XiChen knew that he was happy to have his husband, his brother and even Jiang Cheng together to get some time to forget about the past, the present and the future.
“Ah, but WangJi is not so different from Young Master Wei, is he?”
Lan XiChen is not the kind of person that enjoys to tease, but something, maybe the fresh air or, he dared to say, the happy atmosphere surrounding them, told him that it was okay to tease his little brother just a tiny bit.
“Brother?” Lan WangJi asked, genuinely confused.
“Do not make that expression, WangJi. I remember clearly that frustrated look on your face whenever Young Master Wei was around you and now, you are married to him.” Lan XiChen didn’t say that beside that frustrated look, there was also some kind of hope in his eyes and admiration everytime he looked at Wei WuXian.
Jiang Cheng chuckled as Wei WuXian roared with laughter. Lan WangJi, on the other hand, merely cleared his throat, brushing away one leaf that fell on his lap.
“I’m glad at least one of you both still has a bit of shame on them,” Jiang Cheng said, rolling his eyes as Wei WuXian almost splits his sides with laughter. “You are so loud! Shut up!”
“You make me!” Wei WuXian said back. “You are just jealous because you haven’t gotten married!”
They weren’t close, actually, they were sitting right across from each other: Lan WangJi and Wei WuXian in one side and Lan XiChen and Jiang Cheng at the other, but, in a blink of an eye, Jiang Cheng launched forward, startling the Twin Jades when he pushed Wei WuXian back and Wei WuXian let out a shriek followed by boisterous laughter.
“You little sh-,” Jiang Cheng stopped the bad word before it slipped out of his mouth, remembering where he was and with who. “You little rascal! Do you think you can look down on me just because you’re with HanGuang-Jun?”
Wei WuXian shook his head, arching his back and laughing nearly hysterically as Jiang Cheng drilled his thumbs right on his hips. “I’m sorry! I’m sohohohorry!” He begged, trying to push Jiang Cheng’s hands away.
Lan XiChen watched with amusement, and maybe just a little bit of embarrassment, how Jiang Cheng ignored that funny apology and kept tickling Wei WuXian to hysterics. He then looked at his brother, who looked a bit uncomfortable, but also urged to save his husband from his torment.
“Now, now, is this how brothers tease their brothers?”
