I’m about halfway through First Kill. The way people were trashing it, I thought it was going to be awful. It’s not. It’s genuinely good. It’s a low-budget, supernatural teen drama. It is no worse than any other corny, straight teen drama. No one bats an eye at shitty straight teen dramas. I watched 7 seasons of pretty little liars. Riverdale is totally ridiculous and it’s still going. Let sapphics have what straight teens have. It’s low budget, it’s not going to get the Stranger Things treatment.

Not only do we get 2 lesbian main characters, one of them is a dark skinned lesbian. The other main character’s best friend is a gay, black man. I cannot speak for the black community, but this show has some good rep in it.

The plot doesn’t revolve around racism, homophobia, questioning their sexualities/being ashamed, or coming out. The drama isn’t that they’re gay, it’s that their families are enemies and they’re star crossed lovers. You know, like Romeo and Juliette.

I feel like non-sapphics especially are holding sapphic media up to this impossible standard in order to be deemed worthwhile. People love to consume mlm media, but they don’t give 2 shits about sapphic media. So in order to be worth watching, it has to be this absolutely amazing show outside of the sapphic rep. We are not allowed to have things that are just ok, that are on the same level as straight media. It has to be perfect.

I also feel like sapphics are so starved for good rep in media that we have such high expectations, and when those expectations aren’t met, it’s this huge disappointment. So try enjoy the goofy, teen drama for what it is instead of trashing it for what it’s not.

How are we supposed to continue to get good rep with bigger budgets if everyone trashes what little rep we do get.

Mumumumuch is out now, and as usual, mamamoo never dissapoint. Overall, I can see how the song can be the sort of song that will gain a lot of unique listeners as it is the type of song that you can listen to while you're doing something else and it simply would remain fresh

If you asked me which songs I like the best in the album....

Ahhhh I can't choose which song is the best in the album (oh well, this is the best album after all)

But since I'm a big fan of rock music, I would highly recommend you to listen to this version of gogobebe. To be honest, out of all title songs for 4season, gogobebe is the one I listen to the least. But that might change because of this version

But I also would recommend you to listen to 2021 version of you're the best, it sounds different from the original!

I like this version more because the vibe is more mature and sounded more badass, if I have to describe it, the original is like love confession from a freshman and the new version is like being tease by a senior who definitely knows that you have a crush on them

This is also worth mentioning, I really like moonbyul's part in heeheehaheho, I don't think it's there in the original there. The song is very cute

There's not much difference with words don't come easy-though it still sounds great, a little bit sounds great as always, it's one of the song that best showcase mamamoo's vocal but also very underrated and that is unfair

There are also some part change that I think is a very huge improvement

Piano man is a lot sexier that I remember and it's very clear how much they've mature in 7 years

As you might know the original is a collab with Esna. They did once perform it without esna but their voice lack the maturity that esna has at the time. But this time though, they did it perfectly, they've gain the maturity and the vibe is immaculate. What are you doing??? Go listen to it NOW

Aya is awkward to listen to at first, but it has my heart as I got used to it. The INSTRUMENTAL IS INSANE I REALLY LIKE IT. It gave this mythical legend vibe, like mythical goddess of the past about to go to war with each other kinda vibe

Wind flower is the song you find in a very intense slice of life coming of age movie, I like the part around the end, it really brought out the drama

I was smiling the whole time while listening to um oh ah yeh, simply iconic, it got the same improvement that you're the best has

Back in 2014,when mamamoo is still a rookie, one would think, hey, their vocals are superior! At the time I thought, surely they have already reached peak perfomance in terms of vocal. Nope, I was wrong. This new version of Mr ambiguous slap me in the face and tell me that I'm wrong. They manage to become greater than great.

I only intend to post fanart but ended up with an essay, I was listening to the album while writing all of this after all. There are 23 songs in that album and if I were to describe all of them this will be 10 pages long.

Overall the album has no miss, every song allows you to recall the feeling you have when you first listen to it but with better vocal, instrument and arrangement. There's truly no skip in this blessed album

can I just say….like, I’ve watched a lot of shows with wlw couples, but raylla is really special. they’re THE couple, the most important on the show. they have the most screentime, the most development….and it’s so meaningful for that to be the case. I don’t know if I’ve ever watched a non-specifically-lgbt show where a wlw couple was the main romantic pairing and it’s just so wonderful??? I haven’t felt this spoiled since, like, carmilla lmao. raylla is treated like any show’s main couple, they just happen to be two women, and that’s genuinely amazing. I really am just so grateful for this show and for raylla :’)

fear street trilogy was specifically made for queer women. any straight people who watches this will never understand the depth of the characters emotions. fear street strongly highlighted on the fact that homophobia is real and queer people are dying because of it. being queer is not a sin but murdering them is.

Korra and Asami only held hands because Nickelodeon wouldn’t let them do more. Nick infamously cancelled Korra and put out the rest of season 4 as a webseries only.

Marceline and Princess Bubblegum only kiss in the very final episode because Cartoon Network wouldn’t let them do more. There are a ton of interviews with Pendelton and with the voice actresses where they talk about the CN censorship.

Steven Universe got as far as it did because Rebecca Sugar fought tooth and nail, and risked the show getting cancelled (which it did in many countries, if not heavily censored), because Cartoon Network wouldn’t let her. Ruby was often dubbed over with a male voice, and Pearl/Rose interactions were completely cut.

She-Ra managed to do it largely because it was specifically on Netflix only, and even then, Noelle has said they had to build 4 seasons of storyline very subtly around it so they had enough ammo to convince the execs that Catradora was the only logical conclusion to this show they had already aired. She didn’t just go in on Day 1 and make it gay; she had to plan many years in advance for how to set up her argument. Her argument, y’all.

And now we have The Owl House. Which is an absolutely wonderful show. And it’s so amazing that we actually get to see queer characters get the kind of representation that so many straight characters get. And it’s amazing we get to see the romance build up, instead of just a quick peck in the series finale!

Let’s not forget that in the US, it was illegal for gay people to get married until 2015. Korra aired in 2012. In Texas, it was a punishable felony to even be gay until 2003. No, literally. Just being gay was an arrestable offense here in Texas until 2003. We have come a really long way in 20 years!

But don’t fucking dare disrespect any of these other shows by saying they didn’t try, or that their representation didn’t matter. The Owl House is standing on the shoulders of giants. Lumity is only where it is because Korrasami and Bubbline helped get them there.
