👤My character: Methe (/ˈmiːtiː/; Ancient Greek: Μέθη, romanized: Méthē)" is a demigod hero. The child of Dionysus with one of his modern priestess.

Mortal name: "Vivian" and raised in [insert city here] by her mother (an archeologist/cult priestess) where they would be raised under the radar until adulthood. As they got older their innate powers started appearing as an intoxicating influence over Flora and fauna (chlorokenisis & neuro-chemical manipulation).

They were given a magical Thyrsus by Dionysus that helps channel and control their powers (as well as manifests magical armor for them, which looks slightly different each time it manifests). When they eventually started being a hero they were rewarded winged anklets allowing flight by Hermes after doing a task/trial for him. they Joined the Titans(the hero group not the myth figures) for awhile but left, and eventually started attending college at [insert canonical DC University] as a classical studies major (to learn about their family and their history)

Methe fights for the forces of freedom/liberation, she will oppose anything that violates freedom whether or not the force is considered orderly or chaotic. She, as Well as freedom itself, balances carefully on the border between order and chaos.

Weaknesses: as a demigod she isn't immortal or invulnerable, she can be hurt by basically anything a normal human can.

Seriously tho the amount of environmentally damaging and non-biodegradable materials that the cosplay community generates is kinda unforgivable if you realize the environmental impact and do it for the looks anyway

I saw someone say "Trans genocide can't/won't happen, and no one is going to come for transfolk" which comes from a place a pure misunderstanding or uneducation.

Look at history- hell, look outside... it's not an idea it's a FACT that people are coming for transfolks AGAIN. if a trans-exclusionary activist is reading this I heavily encourage you to look into the treatment of transgender people during the Nazi regime, or the trans hunts that happened in Indonesia in the 60's as part of the Islamic New Order regime and religious militias, or just American politics surrounding them the last few years...

Dozens of states are trying to organize a system where being trans is a Jailable offense, like Memphis Tennessee where public crossdressing is considered "adult Cabernet performance" and can land you on a list for wearing a dress, and to coincide with laws like this being passed and proposed, some states are proposing that the death penalty should be available for sex offenders- which sounds ok until you realize they also want to be allowed to automatically consider any/all trans or crossdressing people in public as "a sex offender". They are literally and actively creating a system where they can genocide trans folk- We were one of the main groups who were being round up into camps and killed in WWII, and they want to do it to alot of us (not just trans folk) again here ಠ_ಠ

They are attacking all of our rights, and for some of us (non-whites, women, trans folk, gay folk, disabled folk) they are also Trying to take our right to be live.

Importantly none of our/your problems are "worse" than any other oppressed minority's, it's all horrible and all deserve help. we are all in this together. advocating for or helping one group doesn't/shouldn't take away from helping any other oppressed groups, oppression is oppression and no living being deserves that. We have got to stop comparing and ignoring suffering!! lets support and uplift one another, instead of tearing eachother down

But remember, one does not simply wake up able to punch Nazis. Punching requires strength training and form. You should sign up for a martial art of some kind and regularly stretch and lift weights. Practice on a punching bag frequently. If you have not already started training to punch Nazis, you should start today.

And this is not just a lesson for literally punching Nazis, this is also a metaphor for punching Nazis. Y'all need to get educated about the issues and get involved. And you need to practice standing up for your deeply held beliefs.

I am a Holocaust / Shoah scholar. When we talk about the Holocaust / Shoah, we talk about 4 categories of people: victims, perpetrators, rescuers / resistors, and BYSTANDERS.

Everyone likes to think they would be a rescuer / resistor AUTOMATICALLY. But you wouldn't. And probably many of you already haven't. And that's ok - I'm not accusing you, but I'm trying to wake you to the fact that most of us have already been quiet bystanders too many times. It takes active, daily work to move from bystander to rescuer / resistor.

One does not simply wake up able to punch Nazis. But if you start educating yourself, you will find yourself equipped with knowledge needed to spot Nazism / Facism where you see it. If you get out and involved with community groups that are part of the resistance: IN ANY FACET OF THE FIGHT YOU FEEL MOVED BY (queer rights, womens rights, health care, climate change, immigrant rights, financial inequality, workers rights, free Palestine / Congo / Sudan, etc - the fight is on MANY FRONTS), you will learn how to speak about and stand for your rights. You will learn what systems and networks you have access to that can help victims (including yourself!) who are in danger.

The Bystander Effect is STRONG. It takes knowing how to break through your own conditioned responses to stay silent and uninvolved when you see crisis of any kind.

Resistance is ACTIVE and DIFFICULT work. But it is work that needs doing and that is worth doing. So start stretching and strength training today. We're going to need you.
