I’ve been looking at other blogs on VC for a long time and I finally decided to make my own as I’m growing my collection bit by bit and learning more and more.

Gauging Interest/ For Sale!!

I was wondering if anyone wanted a soft mount since I’m at uni and kinda need to eat so I’ve been thinking about selling my skull fox and my mink.

I wanted to gauge the interest on here first for them before trying elsewhere and honestly I just want back what I payed so I’ll be able to live for a few more months while looking for a job.

I am willing to post but it’ll probably be more so UK and EU since I’m not 100% on all the legalities for the US.

Firstly we have Roger. He does have a few flaws as he wasn’t a mountable pelt and so his mouth is a little funky and his back legs are stiff. He’s weighted so it feels like an actual animal is lying on you when you hold him and he has lovely white markings on his underside. He has a lot of character and is an amazing little guy and I just want him to find a good home. If you want his little collar then it can come on the ride as well.

Next up is my lovely skull fox Jas and honestly I’m so sad to have to see him go. He’s a little janky but that’s as a result of the artist using him as their first run for soft mounts. He’s unbelievably soft and has wire in his neck tail and I believe back legs. He is quite easy to pose and is such a fluffy and lovable boy who I want to go to a very good home because I do love him a lot.

£250 + the ride for Jas

I feel bad even selling one piece of my collection but it has to be done and as I said I just want back what was payed and then postage and it’s all yours.

Ahhhhh!!!! 100 Followers!!!!

I need some help

I finally got the skull and some other small bones from the magpie I moved into the hedge. The bones are almost fully clean aside from dirt since it was basically mummified when I moved it.

I was wondering how to clean the dirt off and how to make sure there’s no grease or anything on the bones? I’ve heard of a lot of ways but I don’t know how to go about working with something so delicate.

Any help on the matter would be very appreciated as I basically have no clue how to go about working with bird bones.

Also what glue is best for fixing the skull as part of it came off as I lifted it?

I live in the UK so birds are legal to own/possess.

OMG!!!!

There was a hedgehog 🦔 in my aunts garden. It’s the first time in 15 years a hedgehog has been seen in my estate or around my village so it’s pretty amazing to see one of them.

I didn’t take too many photos as I don’t want to scare him too much and he’s been fed some cat food and ended up having a full packet so he’s happy and away off to find a nice place to forge and then somewhere to spend the morning.

I’m so glad I got to see him and he even let me give him a little pet as well before scurrying off on the rest of his journey.

I tried

I attempted to pin a bee and since it was my first time ever attempting to do so I didn’t have the right tools at all so I ended up using a normal pin and some wire that I’d cut down in size. So, yeah, it looks horrendous at the moment but it’s not so bad for a first attempt I don’t think.

I’m kinda sad though because I love bees so much, to the point that I lift them off the street anytime I see one. I’ve almost been hit by cars trying to save bees in the middle of the road because I’m kinda stupid and I even carry sugar water with me just incase I find a bee, so seeing one that’s passed away is kinda upsetting to me.

Anyways I hope you guys like the bee and I’ll hopefully be able to put him in a shadow box once fully dry.

My collection is growing!!

The main reason my collection is growing as fast as it is is due to the fact that my boyfriend buys me vulture things since for my birthday he bought me a butterfly, skull cap for my wall and gifted me other smal bones he found on the beach.

His mum also gifted me some vulture related pieces but she actually went through a good bit of effort to make me a shadow box for my birthday. It’s not the best honestly but I love it so much and she felt bad to just gift me the beetle she’d bought so instead she made this.

I have also collected pieces such as three vertebrae from my school that were used as drawing aids until my art teacher decided that he hated them and binned them so I took the opportunity to take them home. I also collected some quills off of a road accident hedgehog, I was going to take the full body and let it decompose but someone decided to drive over it and then proceeded to reverse, hit it again and do this about four times until it was basically a spiked paste, so I only got some quills as a result.

I’m so very glad that I have the support I do for my hobby and even though I’m still a closeted vulture in my own family my boyfriend and his mum each like aspects of vulture culture so I’m safe around them.

This isn’t all of my collection as I have a few pieces that are stored away like my mummified mouse and vole, my taxidermy rat and other smaller things that are easily hidden such as my crows feet and even a parrot foot. Also on my blog I obviously have my soft mount roger the mink and jasper the skull fox.

There will be updates ever so often on my collection as it expands but for now there’s just gonna be lots of photos of jasper or roger.

Jaz is such a sleepy boi. He’s really settling in well with all the other creatures in my collection and even roger is loving his company as well!!

OMG!!!

I finally got my skull fox and he is gorgeous and so so soft. I decided to call him Jasper but I’ll be calling him Jaz for short.

He’s living in my wardrobe at the moment and protecting my clothes since I can’t have him sitting on my bed no matter how much I want to.

I’ll be moving soon enough so I can put him out in the open more instead of hiding him in a wardrobe for most of the day until I can take him out.

I’m in love!!!!

I bought a skull faced soft mount last week and he arrived at my boyfriends house yesterday so I’m dying to see him and also see my boyfriend over the weekend. He’s so gorgeous and was from a wild fox so he’s not as big as a ranch fox would get which is good since I’m still basically a closeted vulture.

He does have a few flaws since he was the persons first attempt at a soft mount fox but I’m still so glad I got him and for an amazing price as well.

I’m thinking of calling him either Jasper or Rax but can’t decide.

(Note: everything I buy gets shipped to my boyfriends house as he and his mum are both into aspects of vulture culture and taxidermy so I won’t get judged or have my purchases thrown away)

I love it when my dog decides to try and eat the dead things she finds on walks. This idiot had eaten part of a squirrel when I found her and got her to stop 🙄. Needless to say someone got their teeth brushed when we got home and also got a minty flavoured treat because I don’t want rotting squirrel breath in my face all night. 😂 She’s an idiot and is called Tes and yes she does this very often even when on a leash so no matter what I do she’ll find a dead thing and start chowing down.

P.S I took her to the vet and got her checked out just in case but she’s all good just slightly stupid. Still love her though

I got to go to the Blackpool Ripley’s believe it or not museum today and some of the taxidermy was so interesting to me and I really wish that I could own pieces like this in my collection at some point.

They’re so so gorgeous and I really want to own something like this.

Guys I have a problem

I need some help from the vultures here on tumblr. I really want a soft mount mink and I’ve found two form the same shop on etsy but I can’t decide which I want.

They were both made from pelts that weren’t necessarily mountable so obviously there’d be a few flaws but they’re both still amazing.

The first is roger and he was the best pelt out of the two.

The second is igor and even though he’s not perfect he is a really spectacular colour.

Update: I’ve purchased roger and when he arrives photos will be provided and he’ll be all over my blog. I’ve also begun saving for igor so I can have the pair hopefully at some point.

I saw this Magpie when it was first hit by a car a few weeks ago. He was in the middle of a patch of grass and the council workers who mow the grass just moved him under a tree since it’s not their job to deal with deads.

His insides are gone and all that’s left is some skin and feathers so I brought him into my estate and put him behind the hedge so he could decompose in peace and I’ll hopefully be able to get his skull.

I’d love it if anyone had any advice on how to clean his skull when I’m able to acquire it and how much longer I should leave him for.
