Sieradz, Poland, August 2015
Lubiaszów, Poland, Aug 2015 Finally found this in my treasure box (my hard drive). In summer I spent some time with my family in Poland to see everyone for my beautiful grandma’s 80th birthday! Here are some pictures that were taken that day :)
Jan 2016 It's been a while but I had finally found the time (and the paper :P) to draw. It was about time!
Switzerland, Jul 2015
These pictures were taken on our way back to Germany. We had a break in the mountains and joked around for a bit :) Also, we saw some pretty big and strong waterfall.
Lago di Lugano, Italy, Jul 2015
After the hot day in Bergamo we came here to cool down and go for a swim! :)
Bergamo, Italy, Jul 2015
We spent an amazing day in Bergamo which is just about an hour from Milan. It is a very mountainious and typical Italian city with lots of cute houses, churches full of gold and beautiful tiny alleys with stores that sell fresh pizza pieces. Yum!
Milan, Italy, July 2015
Expo round 2. The highlight for me: The Tree of Life! An amazing light and watershow that lasts like about 15 minutes.
Milan, Italy, July 2015
Chris joined us in Milan and we went to discover the city with him once again. We also went up the Duomo to have a view over Milan.
Also you can put your foot on the city emblem and spin on your heels for good luck. The pictures are proof: it is not as easy as one would think!
Milan, Italy, July 2015
So this was the main reason for our trip: The Expo!
The exhibition center is so huge! Even though we went there in the evening, as it was cheaper, our feet hurt so much from walking. We saw a lot of nice pavillons e.g. Ireland, Belgium, Germany, Nepal, Poland and many many more I can’t even name anymore.
The Expo was a great expericence I can now cross off my bucket list :)
Milan, Italy, July 2015
We got absolutely mad about fresh herbs, tomatoes and parmesan in Milan. There was a market right at the end of our street and we could not help but buy more and more x) Delicious!
Milan, Italy, July 2015
So Lena and I spontanously decided to go to Milan to celebrate our graduation. We had a nice airbnb flat and mostly spent the time bying groceries and eating. Italian food is just amazing <3
Unfortunately it was about 37°C during the day and 32°C in the night and it barely got any better. It was madness and we had to keep having breaks, drinking and cooling us down with smoothies and ice cream ;)
News
So again, it has been a while eversince I last posted something. So here are the news from the past few months:
I spent some time travelling around after my graduation. First of all to Milan with my bachelor partner Lena, Poland and Mallorca with my family and later on Orleans and Paris to see my boyfriend. (Photos are still to come!)
After I came back I spent some time figuring out what I am going to do next. I had been applying for master’s programs but did not get a spot for Winter so I decided to try that again the following year.
Also I started learning French in August. I did not have a teacher but I was doing everything with Duolingo. That means I am by now quite okay with reading but talking is still a mess. I figured I would have to do an internship to gain some practical experience until I can join a master’s program. In the meantime I could take some French lessons. So why not connect both and go do an internship in Paris?
I wrote a lot of applications fearing I would not have a chance due to the fact that I am not a fluent French speaker – but I was lucky. I super quickly got an interview at Le Bureau des Affaires Graphiques and it just clicked.
Until the start of my internship in January I was taking care of stuff that you never take care of. Uploading projects, throwing out stuff, cleaning up the mess on your hard drive and applying for awards. Lucky us! Lena and I received the Future Award in the Mobility category in November! We are very proud that our project was such a success.
So now I am finally sitting in Paris, I have just started my internship and I have to say: This is a big adventure! More details to come... ;)
Bachelor project: Vela – Dein Semester im Ausland
In July me and my partner Lena finished our Bachelor project "Vela” and graduated from Hochschule für Gestaltung Schwäbisch Gmünd. Currently we are applying for lots of awards and, of course, are hoping that our hard work is going to turn into a real working app at some point. So many people have given us positive feedback and said their lives would be so much easier if Vela was a real thing. So – fingers crossed!
Our Bachelor thesis is an multi-device solution for university students who want to go abroad for an exchange semester. The concept contains a phase system that only reveals information and tasks when really necessary. This is how the students gets a clear step-by-step manual throughout the whole process: Before going abroad, at the partner institution and back home. Transparent information, unification of communication channels and personalized functions lay the foundations for a successful experience abroad.
Examples for features are: – personalized sidebar with all the important information at a glance – reminders, to-do lists and messenger – filterable search for partner schools – profiles of partner institutions – interactive comparison charts
Scroll down for more pictures and a (German) simulation video :)
Finally I uploaded my projects on behance :) Stay tuned for new ones. I will be presenting my bachelor project on my blog soon, too!
The images by Alain Delorme seem to capture the murmurations of birds, balletic, synchronized, and dramatically graceful. However, upon closer look, the viewer
The shapes looked a little too artistic to be real ;) And when you look closer there are actually not birds at all.
