Years without the beauty of Yusuf,
And Yacob lost his sight,
Seconds with the beauty of Yusuf,
And women lost their hands,
But Zainab saw nothing but the beauty of God,
As Abbas lost his arms,
And as Hussain lost his sight.

Years without the beauty of Yusuf,
And Yacob lost his sight,
Seconds with the beauty of Yusuf,
And women lost their hands,
But Zainab saw nothing but the beauty of God,
As Abbas lost his arms,
And as Hussain lost his sight.
Hussain remembered the verse,
“And protect the middle prayer” (2:238),
While offering his final prayer.
Then, Zuhair remembered the hadith,
“Hold onto the Quran and my Ahlul-Bayt”
While offering his body,
For Hussain’s final prayer.
Hussain remembered the People of the Cloak,
While praying with the People of the Tent,
Seeing the light of Muhammad in Ali Akbar,
The courage of Ali in Abbas
The nobility of Hassan in Qasim,
And the purity of Fatima in Sakina.
The ink of Imam Hassan’s peace treaty,
Became Judah’s poison coursing through Imam Hassan’s veins.
The tearing of Imam Hassan’s peace treaty,
Became Shimr’s sword cutting through Imam Hussain’s neck.
This is probably the most powerful rhetorical question in the entire quraan..

So, where are you going?
[Surah At-Takwir التكوير, verse 26]
“Why do you invite me to the courts of kings And offer to me the wine of Yazid, While I have drunk from a timeless thirst: The King of Karbala is enough for me.”
— Sraliz
What I pray for the most this ramadan is, that we discover allah‘s love and mercy for us. That we learn to trust him and his plans, just like we trust people who don‘t even love us like Allah does. May this Ramadan be a real change in our lives and our relationship to allah. May we fall in love with our deen as much as we got blinded by this dunya and may we find our way back to the one who has given us this life as a test.

Sh. Shinqeeti said: If your Iman drops and you become lazy with worship then repeat this du'a: اللهم لا تجعلني شقيا ولا محروما “O Allah, do not make me wretched or deprived [of good].” It is normal to weaken as a Muslim, but beware of weakening at the time of great virtue and competition! What has passed from your life is gone. If you have done good, then increase; and if you have strayed, then return. And if your determination wanes, remember His saying, exalted is He: “A limited number of days.” (2:184)

“It will keep hurting you, until you let go and there remains nothing in the heart but Him. Once that happens you will no longer love for your own sake. Everything you want, love, or hate will be for, through and by Him.”
