Gghhhh thinking about the Collector in Hollow Mind. Thinking about their behaviors being recontextualized from “a chaotic being ala Bill Cipher or Beetlejuice who just loves destruction” to “a small child being exposed to WAY too much violence.”

I’m sorry. What the fuck. What the actual fuck.

They’re a little kid. They’re a baby, look at them, the way they talk the way they act, and they’ve been watching their “best friend” brutally abuse and murder people for centuries? Right in front of them?!?

Of course they think it’s funny! Of course they think it’s okay! How else are they supposed to handle it? How are they supposed to know it’s wrong when their only guiding figure is the one doing it?

You cannot understand their character unless you understand that 90% of their malicious behavior is just. Parroting. Yeah they think mortals are toys, look who they’ve been around. They’re not even chaotic or a fan of destruction. They specifically rewrite their bedtime story ending to be about making friends instead of a massacre. They are so innocent and genuinely kindhearted but they have been sheltered from N O T H I N G.
