Bugaboo Pocket is a delightful digital pet game where you raise bugs and impact the world's ecology. Launching on Steam April 2nd!
Bugaboo Pocket released today on Steam! (Will be out on switch later 2025).
I’ve been excited about this game now for over a year! If you loved tamagatchi’s as a kid, you’ll love this game! You get to raise your very own digital pet insects, dress them up, and decorate their homes! 🐛

Maybe this has been asked before but how does the face rig on Jeanne d'arc work?
ok basically the eyes are a separate texture laid on top of a blank face (which is further separated into the lashes, whites, and pupils for both the left and right eye). Each has 3 different positions: open, half-open, and closed, which are added as an image sequence. You then add a driver to that to let the position of a bone determine which frame of the sequence is visible. For the pupils, there's also a driver but this time it controls the position and scale of the texture coordinates.
Sounds a bit complicated, but it's a lot simpler than it seems. I used this tutorial to make it. REALLY IMPORTANT THOUGH, if you use that tutorial and you're using EEVEE rather than cycles, it might start seriously freaking out and displaying the eyes completely wrong. I still don't know why that happens, but the one fix I found was, in the image texture inputs, change the alpha mode from "straight" to "premultiplied".
anyway the eyebrows are just controlled with physical deformation of the mesh, i can't really explain what the armature is doing there because i kinda just threw some shit at the wall until it did what i wanted. prob a pretty simple way to do it i just didn't find it
here's a little demonstration of her face controls:
