A/n: ur scrolling through the far cry tag and u see my skeleton holding onto this post, u take it and my bones turn to dust and blow away in the wind

John

To you: Gifts— John has money, he has a lot of it and he's used to buying love from those around him. He'll revert back to this with you in the beginning and you'll have to sternly or softly remind him he doesn't need to do that with you. He'll accept your wishes and avoid thoughtless, flashy gifts but he will still buy you things, he wants you to know he thinks about you even when you're apart. He also likes to show he can provide for you and that you'll never want for anything while you're with him.

To him: Words of affirmation— John can be very insecure, he tries to hide it but he worries about how you see him and how you feel about him constantly. Hearing you say positive things about him really helps ease his mind, he needs to be reminded you don't think he's a monster. When you tell him you love him or praise him for the work he did that day he'll melt into your awaiting hands and pepper you in appreciative kisses.

Joseph

To you: Acts of service— Joseph loves to do things for you, be it something you asked of him or not. He'll do house work so you won't have to, make you breakfast in bed, have something ready for you to eat when you come home. He's basically a house husband that relishes in taking care of you, if there's anything that can help take some of the weight off of your shoulders he's willing to do it. Having you melt under his hands while he gives you a massage or seeing the bright smile on your face when brings you your favourite drink really makes him feel fulfilled.

To him: Quality time— He enjoys spending time with you so knowing you enjoy spending time with him as well means a lot to him. Invite him on a small stroll by the Henbane and he'll be a very happy man, especially if you two settle down somewhere by the river and just talk for hours, letting time go by as you pick at each other's minds and get lost in whatever topic you’re talking about.

Jacob

To you: Physical touch— Jacob is the type of man to put actions above words, so the way he shows he loves you is through touching you or being physically affectionate with you. He'll kiss your temple or hold you close to his chest before ever saying the words 'I love you', but to him it has the same meaning. He's proud to have you by his side and will indulge you in low-key PDA on good days, even initiating it from time to time.

To him: Words of affirmation— He won't admit it but hearing you be open and proud of how you feel about him brings a warm swell to his chest. When you wrap your arms around his waist and murmur praise and offer respite after a long day he can't help but melt in your hold. It's not often he's the one receiving compliments and encouragement so anytime you give them he's hit with a wave of motivation and even more appreciation for you.

Faith

To you: Quality time— Faith loves having you near, she loves sitting with you in meadows and she loves cuddling you on your couch. She'll be content wherever you are and no matter what you're doing as long as she's with you. She enjoys hearing stories about your past and she'll share her own with you while you two sit by the Henbane or stargaze on top of a hill. Lay your head on her shoulder and hold her hand and she won't stop smiling for hours. Steal her away for a spontaneous picnic or hike and she'll be on cloud nine.

To her: Physical touch— Faith loves to be held by you, she loves the way her hands fit in yours and the way your lips feel against her chapped ones. She feels safest when she's curled up against your chest and your body is curled around hers, the sound of your heartbeat in her ear and soothing her to sleep. Having you grab her hand or wrap your arms around her unprompted will leave her heart fluttering for hours afterwards, and a kiss from you leaves her dizzier than the bliss ever could.

Wouldn’t Know where To Start

“I came here from the outside, burned out from the joyride,”

Stars littered the sky, a moonlit countryside passing by as Kane drove down a long winding road. Cool air blew past his face, his hand mindlessly tapping against the door as his other held steady on the steering wheel. The CD player of his old truck turned down low as Nadine slept in the passenger seat, his leather jacket wrapped around their shoulders and head against the window.

Every now and then Kane would glance into the rear view mirror, angled in a way that he could see Nadine’s peaceful expression. He wondered what they were dreaming of, whatever it was he hoped it was sweet. They had been on the road for two days now, heading to another hunt in a county in the middle of nowhere. Kane turned his eyes back to the road as a small smile creeped onto his face.

Kiss Me When The Rain Falls Down

A/N: Finished this old fic bc i was feeling soft for my Monster Hunter man 😔💕💕

The sky was grey, rain fell hard onto the muddy earth of the forest floor, leaving it looking more like a swamp. Nadine dragged their feet through the mud with frantic haste, blood and mud mixing together on their clothes and exposed skin. Their dark brown hair stuck to their face, brown eyes wide and taking in every small detail and shadow of the forest as they searched for Kane.

They got split up, jumped by vampires and forced in different directions in a small cave system. Nadine had come out near a waterfall and had heard gunshots immediately, without thinking about their safety they began running in the direction they heard the shots. The only thing on their mind was Kane.

Title: Plushie Invasion

Nadine sighed as they stepped into their living room, staring around at what seemed to be a hundred or more boxes overflowing with plushies. Walking towards the large pile of plushies in the middle of the room Nadine picked up one of the many plushies, identifying it as a tiny Spiderman plush. They were all Spiderman plushies.

"Wade why is our apartment flooded with Spidey plushies?" They ask the seemingly empty room, a hand on their hip as they turn the plush around in their hand. As they expected the large pile of plushies in front of them all but explodes as Wade rises from it, a Spiderman shirt over his suit as he held two seemingly defective plushies.

"I DID NOT STEAL THEM," Wade prefaces and Nadine snorts, dropping the plushie in their hand onto the flooded couch.

"These were prototypes that didn't make the cut and so i managed to get them to let me have them!" Wade boasts, holding the two plushies up above his head proudly as Nadine carefully steps through the piles of plushies to stand in front of him.

"You know," Nadine sighs as they place their hands on his chest, "It stinks that you’re so cute, because you’re also so annoying," they grin, Wade giggling and lowering his arms as they playfully peck the front of his mask.

"You say annoying, I say creative," Wade hums, "and I got us some sick plushies so you're welcome," he wiggles the plushies in Nadine's face, who laughs and swats them away as they stumble back.

"We don't have room for all of these you dork," Nadine laughs, winding through the boxes and attempting to find their way to the kitchen.

"Don't you even dare insinuate getting rid of even one of these, they are our children now Nadine," Wade calls after them, playful offence in his tone as Nadine jumps over a box into the crowded kitchen.

"I can't live like this!" Nadine calls back dramatically, grinning as they open up a draw to even more plushies.

"Wade this is ridiculous oh my god," they can't help but laugh, startling as the mountain of plushies in front of them is toppled over by Wade peaking his head through.

"This is our life now," he says in a mock serious tone, a plushie falling on his head and onto the counter as the couple stare off.

Nadine tries to bite their smile down as they cross their arms over their chest, Wade grinning behind the material of his mask as they shake their head at him.

"Can we make a compromise husband?" Nadine asks, picking up another plushie and pointing it at Wade, trying their best not to laugh. Wade straightens his back, causing more plushies to fall to the ground, and tears his mask off to meet Nadine's amused gaze.

"Make your proposal spouse," Wade says, straight faced but blue eyes filled with mischief.

"We keep half," Nadine raises their other hand as Wade opens his mouth to refuse, "we keep half the plushies and give the rest to friends so we can have visitation rights," Nadine grins at the absurd sentence that just came out of their mouth, watching Wade close his mouth and nod thoughtfully, tapping his chin as he considered it.

"I accept, on one condition," He concedes, raising his index finger in the air and meeting Nadine's cautious gaze.

"What?" They ask with a smile, wary of Wade's widening grin as they lent back.

"For every child we give away I get a smooch," Wade declares, waving a plushie in Nadine's direction as they roll their eyes.

"I accept," Nadine laughs, taking the plushie from him and dropping it into a box at their feet. Wade grins excitedly and whips around, hurriedly grabbing plushies and shoving them into boxes, Nadine doing the same at a slower pace. If this was Wade's ulterior motive for the small plushies invasion Nadine couldn't be mad about it.

Housewarming Gift

Pairing/s: Ghost!John/Nadine

A/n: Didn't feel like posting more drafts today so have this tiny drabble as a treat instead

"What is that?"

Nadine jumps at the sound of John's voice in their ear, turning quickly only to be face to face with John who was peering over the shoulder. Nadine nearly falls over as they stumble back, glaring at the ghost as he stays in place with a smug smile.

"I told you to stop– popping in out of nowhere, it's freaky man," Nadine huffs, straightening and fixing their shirt.

"When you stop jumping like a cat sprayed with water then I'll stop popping in out of nowhere," John hums, meeting Nadine's scowl with an amused smirk.

"Now, you were just about to tell me what this hideous thing you put on my dining room table was," John says, motioning with his hand to a small marble statue. Nadine grimaces and shrugs with a sigh.

"I think it's a fish but, whose to say really." John scoffs at their response, leaning against the table.

"Why would you buy it if it you don't know what it is?" He asks, amused but suddenly concerned about his roommate's money spending habits.

"I didn't buy it! It's a housewarming gift, that is, really ugly," Nadine mutters, placing their hands on the table and leaning forward, all the while glaring at the offending statue. John rolls his eyes, remembering his fair share of hideous housewarming gifts that didn't stay around much longer than a day at best.

"Well I see an easy solution here; get rid of it," John more demanded than suggested, he could accept the questionable paint job and new tacky furniture but this monstrosity was not staying.

"I can't just throw it out that's rude!" Nadine exclaims, leaning back and looking at John like he slapped them in the face.

"Well if you don't get rid of it I'm just going to throw it out when you're asleep, you can blame it on your friendly ghost if they bring it up and you won't be lying! We both know how you hate lying," John hummed, dragging out the last sentence in a condescending tone that he knew would get under Nadine's skin.

"You are anything but friendly and i highly doubt they'd believe me even if it is the truth," Nadine huffs, crossing their arms over their chest and pondering over the statue.

"I could probably move it into the kitchen or something, on a high shelf where we won't have to look at it," Nadine suggests, glancing up at John who seemed to think about it for a moment before shrugging.

"The faster you forget about it the faster I can get rid of it, do what you will doll," John smiles easily, spinning around and gliding toward the back porch with his annoyingly charming swagger he still possessed even after death. Nadine rolls their eyes and chooses to ignore his statement, despite the casual petname bringing fire to their cheeks.

With a resigned sigh Nadine takes the small statue and wanders off in hopes of finding somewhere John wouldn't be able to take it without them noticing.

34. Kisses that start on their fingers and run up their arm, eventually ending on their lips.

"What's cooking good looking?" Nadine giggles at Wades corny greeting, feeling his arms sneak around their waist and His face nuzzle into their shoulder as they stood in front of the stove.

"Pancakes." They answer, leaning back into his warm chest and turning their head to steal a quick kiss before turning their attention back to the frying pan.

"Smells tasty," Wade hums, trying to sneakily reach for the covered stack of freshly cooked pancakes only to be batted away by Nadine.

"You can wait mister," they scold playfully, smiling as he whined and buried his face in their back.

"But I'm hungry noo–oow!" He groaned dramatically, pulling on Nadine and making them laugh as he sat down on the small dining table, keeping them against his chest.

"You'll have to wait even longer if you don't let me go—Wade! It's gonna burn!" Nadine can't help but laugh even as they struggle against their boyfriends strong grip. They feel Wade take hold of their free hand and bring it to his lips, kissing each of their fingers purposefully.

"I'm sorry I can't hear you over how hungry I am," he says cheekily, trailing his kisses down Nadine's hands and forearm as they continue to struggle in his hold.

"Wade oh my god!" Nadine huffs but the smile on their face betrays them as they manage to twist around to face him, watching him kiss up their arm with nothing but mischief in his bright blue eyes.

"How are you going to eat if you're kissing me, huh?" They ask, face heating up as his lips meet their shoulder and begin to trail towards their neck.

"Hm, dunno but you're pretty tasty though, dare I say, tastier than pancakes," Wade grins, earning a snort and eye roll from them.

"Nothings tastier than–" Nadine's reply is cut short as Wades kisses trail along their jaw, heart pounding annoyingly against their rib cage as he watches with a teasing gleam in his eye.

Wade would never understand Nadine enjoying his kisses considering everyone to kiss him before had mentioned his lips feeling like mouldy prunes—but he wasn't about to complain. The way they got flustered from even innocent kisses like this would always drive him crazy, his own heart dancing to a disco in his chest.

Wade didn't feel even a tiny bit bad teasing them for a moment longer, avoiding Nadine's lips until they'd had enough and surged forward to capture his lips in a messy kiss. Wade can't help but smile into the kiss, the feeling of their soft lips on his was something he'd never get enough of. Nadine leans into the kiss, mind almost going blank from the heavenly embrace before the distinct smell of burnt batter meets their nose.

With a gasp Nadine jumps back and swivels around to the stove, a wail of despair leaving them at the sight of smoke. Wade stumbles forward as they race out of his arms and to the stove, picking up the pan and hopping from one foot to the other in a panic.

"UGH WADE! DAMN YOU AND YOUR DUMB STUPIDLY AMAZING KISSES!" Nadine cries, managing to flip the pancake to reveal the charred underneath.

"I'll still eat that,"

"Get out of my kitchen."

6. Wild, breathless kisses brought on by a heartfelt gift.

The sound of re-used elevator music filled up the small space of the old elevator, Wade bounced giddily in the middle of it, gloved hands clutching the wrapped package to his chest securely. Though his face was hidden behind his mask anyone would be able to see the ear to ear grin on his face, he had been waiting for longer than he felt fair for this gift to arrive.

He had been making an effort to go straight so he'd actually taken the time to buy this gift with legally obtained money and wait for it to arrive in the, very slow, mail. He was hoping it'd be worth it, he knew how badly Nadine had been wanting this particular item and with how down in the dumps they'd been lately they deserved something to brighten their day.

The telltale ding of the elevator reaching it's destination cut through the bland music and Wade nearly slammed himself against the doors as they opened, much like the mail, far too slowly. Almost giggling with glee, Wade raced down the hall of the apartment complex, sliding to a stop in front of their apartment door and slicking back invisible hair.

As quietly as possible, Wade unlocked the door and and snuck inside the apartment. Despite his best effort to be quiet Nadine heard him all the way from their shared bedroom. They kicked the blankets off of themself and gently tossed their switch to the side, standing and shuffling to the doorway to peek into the hall.

Wade grins at the sight of their messy bed head and puppy dog brown eyes looking at him as he skips down the hall toward them.

"You got mail?" Nadine asks, trying to stop the surprise from seeping into their voice. They were happy he was making an effort to do things the more legal way since being with them but it still caught them off guard at times.

"Oh this thing? I stole this from our neighbour, wanna open it?" Wade teases, shaking the package in front of Nadine's face.

"Wade!" Nadine gasps, taking the package and pouting up at him.

"I told you to leave Mr Parker's mail alone, you promised-" Nadine paused as Wade removed his mask, blue eyes wrinkled with mirth as he smiled down at them, "oh very funny," Nadine huffs, rolling their eyes and smiling lightly and whacking his chest with the package gently.

"Okay, okay, but that's for you so open it, right now would be preferable, it took longer to come than y-" A swift pillow to the face cuts off Wades cheeky comment and Nadine sits on their bed with the package in their lap.

"I hope you know my birthday was two months ago," they smirk, gently ripping away the tape and unwrapping the present.

"Shit, was it? Did I get you something good?" Wade grins, falling down onto the bed and watching Nadine's face excitedly.

Nadine snorts and shakes their head, flicking tape at him and continuing to open the present.

"Oh yeah it was- ..." Nadine joking grins slips gently and Wade feels his heart rate quicken, chewing on his bottom lip anxiously as they lift the fabric from the package. Nadine glances up at Wade wordlessly, tears building up in the corners of their eyes.

"Wade," Nadine's voice wavers as they all but whine out his name, a shocked smile stretching across their face as they look back down at the galaxy coloured binder in their hands and the nude coloured binder still in their lap.

"I know you've been feeling shitty lately and as much as i love to rest my head on those perfect pillows, I get you wanting to get rid of them sometimes so," Wade gestures the binders now tucked tightly against Nadine's chest, "I got you a cool one and a boring one so you can make thirst traps on tiktok," Nadine laughs breathlessly and drops the binders onto the bed.

They throw themself across the bed and into his chest, lips colliding with his own fervently. Wade falls backwards a bit, flinging one hand behind him to keep him upright and the other wrapping around Nadine's waist. The kiss is short as Nadine quickly breaks it to pepper kisses to his lips and trailing them all over his face.

Wade manages to pepper his own short, messy kisses to their face as they assault him with their own. His heart hammered in his chest as it did every time Nadine kissed him, if he paid attention he could almost feel Nadine's heart beating just as fast as his own.

"I love you, I love you, I love you," Nadine chants Wade's near favourite phrase between their wild kisses, melting as they dip into a long, passionate kiss.

When they part Nadine rests their forehead against Wades, beaming from ear to ear. Wade smiles lovingly, wiping away the tears trailing down their cheeks and peppering a few more kisses to their face before settling into their soft embrace.

"I love you too baby, I'm glad you like 'em, I am expecting a fashion show, just so you know. I'll even be half naked the entire time if that helps," Wade grins as Nadine laughs gently, nuzzling into the palm of his gloved hand happily.

"Deal."

First Impressions Are Often Misleading

Pairing/s: Jaskier/Nadine, Geralt/Remiel

A/N: Jaskier meets Trouble. (My s/i gets referred to with she/her in this but I’ll be using they/them for most of the follow up fics, it was just hard to write the big group and no names akskfkfj)

After being booed from his performance Jaskier lowers himself to the ground with a frown to pick up the bread thrown at him. Some people just had no taste in good music. As he knelt on the tavern ground Jaskier’s eyes traveled around the patrons, making sure none were laughing at him before they fell upon a group at the far back of the tavern.

His interest is peaked at the sight of two white haired men sitting with two lovely looking companions. At first his eyes trail over the red headed woman with a loose white shirt and long brown skirt but his eyes avert at the sight of her arms wrapped around the man’s arm. The man was rugged and handsome, white hair in a half do and golden eyes looking at the redhead with a fondness Jaskier knew too well.

His eyes then trail over to the other lass with a strange shade of hair, in the windows light it looked purple, she was clad in similar clothes to the two men, with a sword on her hip. Her eyes, near knock Jaskier onto the ground, a glinting shade of pink shining with mischief as she grinned. The man beside her looks younger than the other, sporting an undercut and more annoyed expression as he and the armour clad woman beside him talk.

Three Empty Words

“I love you.”

 No, you really didn’t. But the only thing keeping you alive was Brahms thinking you did. The hulking murderer watching you intensely from behind his cracked porcelain mask as you muttered the words softly, your hands resting on his chest if only to keep the distance between you. He was heavy, leaning into your hands, obviously wanting to be as close to you as humanly possible. Even with most of the manors tall windows open and allowing in the fresh outside air, the air between you was thick and musty, invading your lungs and suffocating you with each passing second.

 “Again.”

 His voice, deep and rich, made your gut twist uncomfortably as it met your ears, muffled by the mask but not enough that you couldn’t clearly hear what he said. This had been going on for what felt like an hour but was more reasonably only ten minutes. It had started in kitchen, where you had been cleaning dishes. You had grown accustomed to the feeling of Brahms hovering behind you but that didn’t stop the slight tremble of your hands when you eventually had to turn and meet his wide, manic gaze.

 “Tell me again.”

 His voice had been softer then, small like a child as he tilted his head at you expectantly. You knew what he had wanted to hear and you said it, but you hadn’t said it how he wanted apparently because as you walked out of the kitchen he had followed and demanded to hear it again. Your heart rang heavy in your ears with anxiety as you said it a second time, urging your voice to be sweet like honey and smile free of the nerves eating away at you. You feared today would be the day his delusional, rose tinted view of your ‘relationship’ had cracked. You pondered if you had smiled wide enough when you turned around, you wondered if he had noticed your hands shake as they hid away in your apron, you wondered if he heard you swallow thickly after his demand met the open air of the kitchen.

 “I love you Brahms,” You whispered gently, struggling to keep him away as he leant closer and further, pushing your back into the wall and trapping you there with his arms on either side of you. You could only smile and play your part, watching as his eyes fluttered closed behind his mask and the sound of a content sigh escaped his mask. Your arms betrayed you as he slumped forward, the cool porcelain resting against your cheek as he nuzzled into your neck. His large hands, the very ones you’d seen snap a man’s neck, fell to your waist; your own were now trapped between the two of you, clutching the dirty material of his wife beater.

 “I love you,” The three words fell from his lips and burned your skin, they didn’t feel like they should have, didn’t mean what they should have. The man attached to you like a parasite didn’t understand the three words he so desperately needed to hear you say every day, he didn’t understand when he said them and what they meant. But he didn’t seem to care. As long as the illusion was there he was happy to play pretend. As long as the illusion of safety was there you were happy to play pretend as well. 

What were three empty words for your life.

One Paragraph Love Story

You noticed him through your window at 3am on a Monday, your tired eyes that were dry from staring at the blinding light of your computer screen almost mistook him for a plastic bag caught in the bushes. If you had known then that small glimpse would spiral into a year of torment you would have never gotten out of your chair — but then, that was a lie. The long locks of dirty blonde hair running through your fingers as you sat with your back against the headrest was one small giveaway to how comfortable you had become with it all. ‘It all’ being the presence of your unexpected roommate and every little thing that came with him. You got used to bloody footprints and bathroom sinks covered in facial hair, grew accustomed to the feeling of eyes watching your every move and grew fond of waking up to baby blue eyes every morning. For a serial killer Michael had a way of making you feel safe, when the world got too much to handle, he was always there, whether he actively did anything or just sat beside you silently didn’t matter. It was unconventional, but it was love and that was enough.

• "One time Cas and I got hammered and he dared me to throw a knife at a bottle but upside down and like fifteen feet away from it. Yeah, i hit him in the leg. Don't know why we thought that was a good idea. Kinda funny though."

• "Been playing with knives since i was six. Been shootin' since i was ten and i don't miss. I'm the sharp shooter of your dreams sweet pea."

Cold

Pairing/s: Alvin Murphy/Nadine Sinclaire

A/n: I was quite literally freezing my butt off this morning so I wrote this tiny thing.

The air was cold, no matter how many scraps of cloth Nadine covered themself with they could still feel a cold chill run down their spine. It was impossible to sleep when they were shivering like a baby lamb. The sound of shaky breaths from their left pushed them to open their heavy eyes, turning and glancing over their shoulder.

Murphy was huddled in his own cocoon of fabrics, shaking even more violently then them and breathing erratically as well. Concern bloomed in Nadine and an idea also popped into their head.

"Murphy,"

"What?" Murphy snaps back, obviously annoyed at being disturbed. Nadine rolls their eyes and sighs loudly.

"I'm freezing my ass off, come over here." Nadine huffs and watches Murphy's annoyed squint become a wide eyed look.

"Seriously?" Murphy asks, making sure it's not a joke and nearly jumping up as Nadine nods and lifts their makeshift blanket. Murphy hurries to their side, slapping his own makeshift blanket over Nadine's and diving under the now added layers.

Nadine turns and wraps their arms around Murphy's waist, Murphy in turn wrapping his arms around their shoulders and pulling the blanket tighter around them. They both revel in the new warmth and Nadine buries their cold face in Murphy's chest.

"This is nice." Murphy mutters after a beat of silence, Nadine notes how his breathing has evened out and smiles.

"Yeah. Now go the fuck to sleep."

Dragon's Heart

Pairing/s: Faith Seed/Dragon!reader

A/N: Set in my The Path to Eden AU where Faith is a Healer/Seamstress, just testing the waters with writing for this AU, thought a Dragon!reader would be cool.

Her voice was lovely. No sweet siren or bird in the sky could sing a tune so enchanting, so mesmerising. Her appearance was as angelic as her voice; soft sandy blonde hair usually matched with a flower crown, blue eyes that shone bright like a gem hit by moonlight, petite form hidden under a beautiful white dress made of multiple fabrics and layers. Everything about her was ethereal.

Faith. Even her name left butterflies in your stomach. It was foolish to feel such a way, a creature such as yourself gazing at her with such a dazed look in your eye. It had been centuries since you'd been distracted by such beauty, seeing her dance in her meadow five months ago had simply been so breathtaking you couldn't help but stop and watch.

You've been in Eden for those five months now, disguised in your human form as a travelling bard you had been able to become closer to the woman who made you fall in a literal and figurative sense.

Faith was even more lovely up close, when she smiled at you and rested her hand on your arm you were sure you'd found heaven.

When you first approached her you had gently strummed your lute to the tune of her song, delighting in the way she turned to you in surprise but continued singing. There was a smell of lavender and parsley forever present in her meadow, pulling you into a calmer state of mind. As you walked towards her she watched you with the same intrigue you had been admiring her with, her soft gaze devouring you and fuelling the fire hidden within your veins.

"Pardon my intrusion, I hope you don't mind?" You kept your voice even, eyes calm and composure docile as not to frighten her. A part of you felt like you wouldn't have been able to act any other way under her hypnotic gaze. She seemed anything but frightened however as she swept her hand over the log beside her.

"Not at all, please, would you play another song for me?" Her voice was soft and enveloped you in a warm embrace, pulling you down to the log beside her where she then rested her head against your knee.

You had wondered if she was so friendly and trusting of all strangers that approached her, was she naive or did she know something you did not? You're questions were quickly swept away by the wind and you played song after song for her, if only to listen to her hum along.

After that first meeting it became almost routine to meet by the river where she would steal you away into her meadows, singing and dancing without a care in the world. You'd never come across such a carefree spirit, so full of life and seemingly as free as a bird in the open skies.

Every moment by Faiths side was a moment you would never wish to forget, she left you free from your burdens and fears and you could only hope you brought the same feeling to her. She seemed to enjoy your company but watching her around others in her village made it seem like she enjoyed almost everyone's company.

It was interesting seeing her in the village and out of her meadow, be it speaking with her brothers or tending to other villagers; she was gentle with them and even the most antsy human seemed to calm in her presence. It was like watching an angel walk through a villages of mortals, all of them greedily taking in her grace to ease their pains.

You were guilty of a similar act, greedily taking in any attention or affection she gifted you. You had knelt at her feet and kissed her knuckles many times by now, it felt only fitting to greet her in such a way and the dusting of pink that coated her cheeks made it worth it every time. You would give anything to have those blue eyes looking at you and only you for the rest of your life.

But you wouldn't have them for the rest of your life. With your near immortality and her painful ever present mortality, it would be impossible to keep her in your life forever. Which made every day with her even more precious.

"Will you be leaving soon? I've heard bard's don't tend to stay in one place for very long," You almost missed her question as you lost yourself to the feeling of her hands running through your hair. You were both sitting by the river, your head in her lap and eyes gazing up at her own softly. Her eyes betrayed her nonchalant tone, a spark of longing in her sparkling blue eyes.

"Would you like me to stay?" You ask, knowing you had no intention on leaving for as long as she lived. Her hands halt in your hair, blue eyes suddenly holding a heavy gaze as she watched you carefully.

"And if I did?" She all but whispered, hope dancing in her eyes as those familiar butterflies raged in your stomach.

It felt all too right to lean upward and press a kiss to her plush pink lips as your answer. She reciprocated enthusiastically, a hum leaving her throat as her hands left your hair to cup your face gently. Her kiss was as sweet as her, intoxicating and leaving your mind blank as you all but melted under her soft touch.

When she pulled back your lips were left tingling, you smiled dazedly up at her and reached out to stroke her cheek.

"As long as you'll have me I'll stay." You murmur as she leans into your touch, eyes closing and content smile gracing her lips.

"Then you'll stay forever." She muses, and you agree with a small hum.

New Roommate

A/N: A Papyine fic in 2020?? It’s more likely than u think 👀👀 

The morning had started in a rush, Nadine’s alarm pulling them from their slumber and out of their warm bed. A groan ripping through them as they dragged their feet across the floor; Honey, their cat, darting between their legs and following them into the hall and into the bathroom. Usually they would have snoozed their alarm and kept their eyes closed for five more minutes but their new roommate was arriving today and they had a lot to get done.

After their morning ritual and cup of steaming coffee to wake them up they set to tidying up the apartment. Couch pillows and throws straightened, kitchen counter tops thoroughly wiped down and floors vacuumed twice over and then mopped; all to one of Nadine’s upbeat Spotify playlists. The empty room was ready to be moved into but Nadine still made sure to go in and clean everything a second time just to be safe.
