“My Role as an Individual in Spreading the Right Information on Social Media.”
Have you ever been embarrassed after sharing something online before realizing that it was fake? I have, and I wouldn’t want to partake much more in disseminating deceitful knowledge in the future. On the internet, virtual networks expose us to an immensely wider audience. For that main reason, I see to it that I carry out my role as an accountable individual in spreading the right information.
According to the Cambridge Dictionary, fake news is false stories that appear to be news, spread on the internet or other media, and usually created to influence political views or jokes. These are fabrications that hold possible damages to their audience or victims as such falsifications may form uncertain feelings and opinions on making collective decisions. When sharing information, one must be careful and thoughtful about its impact on the people it will reach. In this context, readers and listeners must have the ability to receive, distinguish, and believe authentic information against those of inaccurate ones. That way, we can all live in a world where the internet is trustworthy and influential materials are truthful.
Think critically. Ensure reliability. Share responsibly.
