lostscn:
what he had suspected before, he knows now to be true, and trevor can feel his heart break that little bit more in his chest. that old but familiar feeling begins to sink in - the loneliness he’d done his best to drink away for years after the belmonts had been excommunicated and killed before his eyes. the loneliness that had finally been chased away by the warmth and connection alucard and sypha had given him, despite how little he deserved it.
but.. with this comes a small blessing, as ridiculous as that might seem for him. it seems, with the loss of memories, comes a lightness to alucard - to adrian. one that trevor didn’t expect to ever see. that in itself is enough to bring a smile to his own lips, to dull the heartbreak enough to be able to face adrian as he is now. “pleasure, adrian.” not alucard - of course not. alucard wasn’t the name he was born with, it was one he was given. one out of the myth of a hero to save wallachia. a lifetime ago, it seems. he reaches to take adrian’s hand in his own and, feeling reckless in his pain, tips forward enough to press a very chaste kiss to his knuckles. something alucard would’ve done, in their time. “trevor belmont.” last son of the house of belmonts. it’s on the tip of his tongue, but it doesn’t belong here. this is a bad idea, trevor knows it is, but he can’t help himself - “would you mind some company? drinking alone certainly isn’t as much fun as it seems.”
coming to the bar, he had hardly expected to actually engage in any sort of conversation aside from speaking with the bartender. he’d been more focused on coming in, getting his mind off the day while he drank maybe two glasses of the alcohol of choice. now, he was a bit more thrown off, especially in the presence of such a handsome stranger. that much had been clear the minute his eyes had landed on the man. perhaps the night was finally starting to look up now, if he got to spend even a small amount of time with the other. needless to say, adrian was more than surprised as he watched trevor place a light kiss upon his knuckles, more stunned by the action than anything else. it was something out of of those period movies or novels. an action that adrian didn’t often see people engaging in during this age.
“trevor. a pleasure, then.” there’s a faint blush to his pale cheeks, the smile present becoming more shy. he wasn’t quite sure if the other man was merely being friendly, or if he was actively flirting. matters that adrian certainly didn’t have too much experience in. tilting his head at the offer, he pulls his hand back almost reluctantly before finally giving an affirming nod. “company would be greatly appreciated, actually. i’d meant to come here to drink alone, but, as you said it’s not as fun as one would make it seem. what are you drinking?? only seems fair i do give you that refill if you’re going to be keeping me company.”
