Went to the Telus Science museum today and saw DINOSAURS! So, that was pretty cool. There was a lot of other cool science-y stuff there too. We took a trip from Earth to the far reaches of the universe in an interactive show, which was sooo cool. Currently back at the hotel fro the day, probably going to relax and eat snacks.
Had a tour of Bioware’s HQ in Edmonton today! We were shown around by Patrick Weekes and Karen Weekes, had a lovely little chat with Sylvia Feketekuty (the woman that wrote Josephine) and saw some neat stuff. Ate at a Tim Horton’s because they’re apparently a thing here in Canada, and went down Whyte Ave, where we found THE COOLEST movie shop. Horror and Cult films galore, it was great. I super loved it, bought some stuff.
Adventures in Edmonton, Pt. III
Day 4: Monday, 9/28. (cont'd)
We went to the zoo and did laundry, that much I covered.
Then we spent a day in at our hotel. After a busy weekend, that was pretty nice!
We ordered in pizza (well, I got garlic cheesy bread and Nick got chicken fingers, but it was all from a pizza place!). We watched a bit of TV, and then settled in for the night with Night of the Treffids, a 50s horror flick that Nick picked up at the Edmonton Expo on Saturday (my spelling of that title and the time period in which it was made could be totally wrong).
Oh, before the movie we did go out to grab necessary essentials from the grocery store. And by essentials, I mean razors, shaving cream, and something to help my nose before I returned home looking like Voldemort.
Day 5: Tuesday, 9/29.
Today, as Nick slept in and missed breakfast, I'm super excited to say that we're visiting BioWare's studio! Ahh! BioWare's been my favorite developer since I first bought Neverwinter Nights in 2002! I was, like, 12 or 13 when they became my favorite developer. And I'll be 26 in a little over a month. This is a real childhood dream come true.

Went to the Edmonton Valley Zoo today and saw some animals! It was nice, and almost completely devoid of other people. Big fan of that. It’s funny, I’m realizing on this trip just how much of an introvert I actually am. I love people! But in small doses.

Adventures in Edmonton, Pt. II
Day 2: Satuday, 9/26.
Today we went to the Edmonton Expo! We mostly shopped. I got some Star Wars figures, and Nick got some DVDs.
We did get to see the Dragon Age panel, too!
Mike Laidlaw, Cameron Lee, Mark Darrah, Patrick Weekes, and Luke Kristjanson were there. They talked out past projects, particularly with a lot of polite shade thrown at Luke for his age, since he's worked at BioWare since Baldur's Gate.
They also talked about the future of Dragon Age. Or, rather, what they could talk about. Which was nothing. Because nothing was confirmed. It's definitely not currently in production maybe.
Also, Luke responded to a question in the greatest way:
Fan: "Is there anything you would have liked to write for Sera that got cut?"
Luke, immediately: "Sex on a dragon!"
The Expo was pretty great!
Day 3: Sunday, 9/27.
We went to the West Edmonton Mall. This place is huge! There's an ice rink, mini golf course, roller coaster and theme park, and a water park inside the mall. It's incredible. Nick and I were there all day, and we still didn't see all there was to see.
We may go to Galaxyland, the theme park, before we leave Edmonton.
Day 4: Monday, 9/28.
We started out today going to the Edmonton Valley Zoo. So many animals!
I may have needed to be dragged away from the fennec fox and the meerkat (they're both just so adorable!). It did take less time to wander around the zoo, though, so we both opted to return to the hotel to do laundry.
No idea what the rest of the day will lead to yet!
But one of us (probably me) will post about it on here!

Spent the day at the West Edmonton Mall, second biggest mall is North America. It was really huge. It had an amusement park, ice rink, aquarium, water park, as well as the regular mall stores and such. We didn’t get to experience all of it, but we got most of it.
Such a cool place!

The hotel has computers, so I have access to Tumblr when we’re here! My phone is still utterly useless, however. BUT, we had a super fun time at the Edmonton Expo all day today. We met Patrick Weekes, Luke Kristjanson, and some other Bioware people! When asked if there was something that Luke (who wrote Sera in DA:I) regretted not being able to include in the finished game with Sera, he very quickly said “Sex on a dragon.” I’m now upset that I wasn’t able to do that in game.
I might make a more extensive post on this soon.

My phone has turned into a useless hunk of plastic while I’m in Canada. No cell service, no internet connection. Nothing. So, sorry if you all don’t hear from me for a while.
At a Regina airport, waiting on another plane, except this time I have no cell service. So no texts.
Aaaand our flight to Regina is delayed by two hours.
Welp, making an extra stop in Regina. Anybody from Regina? Anything there? Cuz we will be for a while.
No. There was nothing there.

Adventures in Edmonton, Pt. I
Hi all! This blog was started and it's been pretty empty. Apologies.
Nick and I ran into some troubles getting settled in. Overall, this trip's been a good one! But each day has offered something new to learn.
Day 1: Friday, 9/25
We both successfully woke up super early, and took an Uber car to the Atlanta airport. Everything was pretty standard here. We caught our flight to Minneapolis for a layover. When we got to Minneapolis, though...
Everything changed when the Fire Nation attacked we realized that our plane was overbooked.
Nick had a seat on the flight, and I didn't. I'm a well-traveled individual, so I wouldn't have had a problem going our separate ways for a few hours, but this was Nick's first time flying and first time out of the country. So! We asked to stay together. Options? A 9:00 am flight to Edmonton (our original one being an 11:30 am flight), or an afternoon layover to Regina (pronounced Re-jine-ah, "jine" like "dine" and not "gene" how we might say it), and then a flight from there to Edmonton.
Well, we chose to enter Regina (cue immature giggling).
Our flight to Regina was also delayed due to a fog issue in Duluth, where our arriving plane was coming from. We waited so long at the Minneapolis airport, that we had full meals at Burger King and Chick-fil-a, and I enjoyed some muffins and a strawberry banana smoothie from Caribou Coffee.
Long story short, we spents hours in Minneapolis, hours in Regina, and then finally arrived in Edmonton around 9:00 pm (we were originally scheduled to arrive around 1:30 pm).
We took the first available driver to our hotel, who turned out to be an incredibly expensive limousine driver. At that point, I didn't particularly care. I paid the man his blood money and we checked into our hotel, the Home2 Suites by Hilton West.
As far as hotels go, this place is pretty great. It feels like a little mini home, true to its name. I'll add a few pictures to another post, but probably not tonight.
I did want to get something on here started, and I'm sure one of us will fill in again soon!

Nick and I (Jody) are off to Canada in the morning for an amazing adventure! This is what we do to prepare for it.
