Easy.

It’s definitely not a word that people, including myself, will use to describe me. I’m completely the opposite of it which leads to the fact that nothing is ever easy for me. I’m not complaining about it because I do feel that nothing worth having comes easy and I’m completely fine with it.

But if that’s how the world works, I guess I’ll never find the right one 🤷🏻‍♀️

Let people be

My dad - A friend said to me, “You’re 60 and learning Mandarin? At this age, you should be learning Arabic instead so you can understand Al-Quran even better.” The funny thing is, this fella is 60 plus and did he learn Arabic? Obviously he didn’t! Seriously, shhh!

The point here is that some people like to criticise or belittle people’s efforts in improving themselves.

“It’s early in the year, the gym is gonna be full, let’s see how long that’ll last” “lol you don’t need a new year to start something” “oh suddenly people are all organised thanks to Marie Kondo lol”

Listen, at least they took the first step to be better and they pushed themselves to do something. You think its easy to break a habit? And it’s, honestly, even harder to start a new one. Getting out of your comfort zone is never an easy task but they did it anyway. Oh wait, you wouldn’t know it because you’re too comfortable living in yours. You see, while you’re busy criticising and belittling their efforts, they are making progress and improving themselves. Maybe it won’t last, but they tried and from time to time they’ll pick up the courage to try again. They can’t change overnight but at least they’re taking baby steps while you’re just there, still at the same spot, doing what you do “best” - criticising others.

So let people be! As long as they’re doing good things and improving themselves, even if its just following a trend, just shut your mouth and let them be! But since you’re so comfortable living in your bubbles, just practice this, if you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all 👌🏻

ps; my dad did learn Arabic years ago and its up to him to learn whatever language he wants at whatever age he is.
