AU!DUAL POSSESSION { J & E }
The ground had begun to shake and she found herself falling against her will. The next thing she knew, sheād gotten a throbbing headache, and her body ached. The brunette winced, her eyes still closed tightly, refusing to open them to see what had happened. Huh, what exactly had happened? Had the ritualā¦failed? The only thing she could remember was the charm sheād instigated, to keep them closer than ever, but it had proven to be disastrous. Finally, Eunji gradually peeled her eyes open, blinking a few times before a picture came to view. She checked her surroundings, with nothing of familiarity. Where was she? She slowed moved her body into an upwards position, a hand faintly rubbing at her head, as she tried to make out the desks in front of her. They definitely seemed to be much smaller than normal ones, and she guessed they were belonging to Elementary students. It didnāt take long for panic to take a hold of her ā as it normally did in situations she couldnāt understand. Eunjiās heart began to race, thumping loudly in her chest, as she struggled to get a hold of her nerves. Her body began to shake out of fear, unable to comprehend what was happening. Had she done this? Were the others okay? She felt the audible screams spill from her lips, hands grappling towards her ears, as she tried to lock her head towards her knees. However, the sound from outside the door was what got her attention, and Eunji bolted up in surprise. The noise only got louder, and though she admitted she loved to recite ghost stories to her fellow friends, that was just an excuse. Truthfully, Eunji was scared to death of things like that, and she only told them to hide her own fear. Of course, sheād never admit that to them; how could she? However, now that she was stuck in this predicament, she could only feel herself hyperventilate, and the more she thought about it, the more she got worked up. She tried to exhale, but it came out as more of a whimper, her chest tightening as she found it harder to breathe. But soon, it quietened, and so did she, where she assumed a curled position, as though she was a frightened small child.
Time seemed to tick endlessly when she fell into the hole that had appeared in the floor of her lecture hall. She saw the despair and shock in the eyes of her classmates and she had desperately tried to grab hold of someone's hand, but she failed doing so. She saw Eunji with her eyes closed and Jackson staring wide-eyed down at the hole, but they were too far for her to reach out to. There was a mixture of high-pitched and low-pitched screams until she didn't hear anything at all. Everything went blank as if her mind and the things around her were no longer in existence.
She woke up with a terrible ache in her bones that when she tried to move, she winced at the throbbing pain. She was in a classroom unfamiliar to her and by the looks of it, appeared to be a classroom for small children. There were several desks missing and some were knocked over with chairs all about. There were red and brown marks of something she couldn't distinguished on the floor and on the walls. When she tried to get up, there was a pain in her leg that she fell back onto the floor. She rubbed her right ankle, wincing while a soft groan escaped her.
That's just great, she thought to herself. I have no idea where I am, and my ankle is sprained.
There was no way she could get around quick enough with her ankle sprained. If this was a school, her best option was to find the infirmary or better Ā yet, find someone she knew. She leaned the side of her body against the wall and slowly got up, flinching at the sudden weight on her ankle before slowly heading out the door. She peered out the window in front of her to see a vast forest where roads and homes should be. She knitted her eyebrows, limping over to the window as she tried to open it with all her strength. However, to no avail did it open and she was left to look at her only two options: go left or go right.
She stared at the left side of the hallway, staring at how dark it was before staring at the right side. Although the floor was smeared with a dried crimson, she could see the end of the hallway with no problem. She figured it was better to see where she was going than going blindly toward the left, not knowing what lied ahead. She pressed her palm against the window and proceeded down the hallway with a heavy heart.
She froze, however, when she heard a shriek and a noise all at once. It almost felt as if her eardrums were going to burst, and it was only until the shrieks were over that she continued to move. Maybe it was someone she knew? She had to take the risk no matter how scared she was. She blinked at the thought, staring down at the hand not on the window and saw just how much she was shivering. She closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath, before she continued down the hallway.
It was only, however, when she heard something being squished beneath her feet that she stopped and opened her eyes. She saw crimson colored sausages that were too red in color to be normal sausages. She peered down, taking a closer look and knitted her eyebrows. They weren't regular links of sausages, so what the hell were they? When she turned her head and saw the body leaning against the other wall with a gaping hole where his stomach should be, she registered what they were.
She let out a screech so terrifying even to her that she banged her back against the window. She was terrified, and she knew it.Ā She didn't like looking weak, but she was. The worst part was that she didn't know where in the hell she was and where her best friend or other friends were.Ā She heaved and wheezed before she continued to limp down the hallway until she slipped in a pool of blood.Ā She groaned in pain and slowly got back up, wiping the blood on her hand onto her exposed thigh as she entered what she thought to be an empty classroom. Ā She, was, however, wrong when she found a familiar body cradled in the back corner of the classroom. Her eyes widened, a large smile on her face as she yelled her friend's name in excitement.
"Eunji! I'm so glad to see you!" She cried out with tears on the brink of falling down her cheeks. "Please tell me you know what's going on."
