i think diluc is interested in ornithology. he literally has an eagle, his elemental burst is an eagle, an eagle on his namecard, his constellation is an owl, an owl statue in his house.. he likes birds, i think...

and.. because i love chiluc, he could share this with childe, because childe is like a person who loves to talk and listen. and for him, diluc would not use too many abstruse words so that he would understand him more easily.

and after that childe could bring him shiny things or stones or something else because birds do that for partners. and this silly cute thing is very much his style
