This year for Christmas, I made my friends CD framed cards of paper art. It was really an excuse to experiment with paper and feel the happiness, giddiness and that satisfying feeling I get when making art for other people.

Guide to Reward Points

Welcome to another episodes of Naps and Maple! The Maple Rewards System, a system that was made to balance the pay-to-win road maple story was heading towards. Today we have a special guest who will tell us what the Rewards System is all about! Put your hands together for the special guest of the day, Cyffie (CD). (Audiences: *Applause, applause, applause* )

Raye: Hi CD!  CD: Sawp Raye: Thank you for joining us on today’s Naps and Maple Show! We been having a lot of viewers requesting us to cover what reward points are. Being an expert in all things maple, I’m sure you’re a great guest to ask about this topic! CD: I know a little here and there :P Raye: Many of our viewers are super excited to see you here today,  (Random female audience: Cyffie I LOVE YOU!!!! AHHHHHH<33333) (Other audience: *Laughs out loud*) Raye: You’ve been a long term player and pretty well known to a lot of old players who are coming back.  CD: Yeah, pretty much. Raye: How many years have you been playing maple story? CD: I’ve started maple in 2009, it was interesting why I actually played though. I was back in middle school and there was this girl I dated and had a bad break up. Friends told me to play this game called maple and I thought it was pretty lame; but being in that post breakup situation I thought, why not? So I did and that’s where it pretty much began! Raye: Wow! I wouldn’t of expected that! I recently did an interview with your guild member Pipedexless. CD: Oh Phil! Raye: It seems you guys been around for a while! What made you decided to be a guild leader, and why “Melody”? CD: I made my guild back in 2009. I never really thought of myself as a guild leader, but people joined because I just help out with whatever I can and whenever I can :D As for the name, “Melody” with a “L”, I thought of the melody when this song first came out. It went “shawty’s like a MELODY in my head that I can't keep out” blah blah. Raye: Ah, Replay by Sean Kington

CD: Yup, that’s where the name originated from.  Raye: I’m sure a lot of your guild mates must of had some questions about the new reward system when it first came out, or for those who just came back to maple. As a leader, did you have to test things out first to be able to pass down what you learn to others? CD: Yeah! I tried stuff out before giving out information. Raye: So in your own words, what is the rewards system? CD:The rewards system is an easy way to get “free” nx, in a sense at least. Raye: How do players earn this “free” nx? CD: There’s many ways to earn reward points, which is the name for this “free” nx. The easiest I find is to go bossing. For instanced doing Zakum, you want to do normal and chaos for the most reward points. Doing 2 normal or 2 Chaos wouldn’t give you the extra points so it’s best to do one of each difficulty. When you’ve done all bosses and you need more reward points for the day, the next place to get some would be Star Planet. What most people would do is to continuously play “one star” card game until you’ve maxed out that character for the day. Raye: Maxed out? Is there a limit on how much points you can get? CD: Yes, sadly :( I’m not sure what the exact amount is for one character, but when you do max on that character you’re able to hop on another character of the same world and repeat the process until you’ve come to the daily max reward points you can get in the cash shop. Raye: Does each character share the reward points in Cash Shop? CD: Yes they do, just like NX and maple points! Raye: WOW, so if you have a lot of different characters you can end up getting a ton of reward points! CD: Yes, but the daily max allowed in total among all your characters is I think 4500 or 5000 rewards points, I’m not entirely sure. Raye: What can we get with these reward points? CD: Many different things :D There is a rewards shop, they offer from red/black cubes, hyper tele rocks, scissors of karma and etc.. They do have a restriction on how many you can purchase in a month and resets when a new month starts. 

Raye: I heard that you have to go into Cash Shop to deposit your reward points when you reach an amount before you can redeem more. CD: Oh right, the maximum you can achieve from boss reward points is capped at 10. Lets say you killed 15 bosses in total, you’ll have to first check in the first 10, enter cash shop and redeem the points given , usually 400-500. Raye: So how do we claim these rewards? CD: The little box present thing with a box and a tiny “C” on top. As for redeeming star planet points the max you cap at is 1500 each time. So you want to be careful and redeem them in cash shop before doing anymore games, as it would be a waste and i’m pretty sure you lose the points for not redeeming them.

Raye: is there a time limit on when you should use your reward points? CD: If you don’t use them, they’ll expire at the end of the following month. Interview With A Hen Ho

Welcome to another episodes of Naps and Maple! For years and years, patches after patches.  Jobs got revamped then nerffed, exp form monsters were lowered. One group of people, thrived and flourished and never let all the changed nexon thew at us affect them. A once well know practice now becomes a full blown way of life, the art of Hen hoing. 

Many of you have heard of the term hen ho, and some of you might even consider yourself to be one. But what is a hen ho really, is it really what it cracks out to be?  We’ll find out right now! PLEASE PUT YOUR HANDS TOGETHER AND WELCOME OUR SPECIAL GUEST, PipeDexless (Phil)! (The crown cheers as PipeDexless enters the stage and sit in the guest chair)

Raye: Hi Phil! How are you!! Phil: Hello Raye! I’m doing great thank you for having me today! Raye: Phil I heard that you are a professional Hen Ho. How long have you been in this field? Phil: I’ve been Hen Hoing for almost 4 years now. Raye: 4 years, wow! Do you recall what made you first want to join the Hen Ho movement? Phil: I got tired of training and bossing. I liked the idea of hanging around and making new friends. Raye: So in your own words, what is a Hen Ho? Phil: Well, in my opinion, a Hen Ho is a person who spends his entire maple time chilling in Henesys and socializes with friends. Raye: So if someone wants to enter the Hen Ho scene, what are some main things that person should do or keep in mind? Phil: When you Hen Ho, you start from your own group of people, which they will always talk to you and you talk to them, it becomes like a family. Having your group of people to hangout with is essential, and obviously having a good conversation with everyone and you should always be up for meeting new people that comes around. You should also have a few simple looks or outfits to change around in, nothing too flashy. Raye: Phil, is there any Hen Ho society rules that you guys have to follow? Phil: The Rules of Hen Hoing is to have fun, be friendly and be at Henny most of the time. Hen Hos, keeps it simple! Raye: That’s simple enough! I’m sure our audiences are all wondering what are some of these looks/ outfits you mentioned earlier. As a professional Hen Ho, can I safely say you have those outfit on hand to show us all!? (The crown goes wild with cheers and woots and then everyone started chanting “take it off! take it off!”) Raye: Now now everyone settle down! I know you all want to see Phil change in front of us live, but that’s not going to happened here tonight. Guide to Link skills!

Welcome to another episodes of Naps and Maple! Today we are going to talk about Link Skills! For those of you who just came back maple and are wondering why everyone has so many mules, its most likely because of link skills. To understand what link skills are, we turned to our maplestory expect UniquelyHers (kev)!

Raye: Kev thank you for joining us today! Kev: Hi Raye, thank you for having me here! I been a big fan and am so honored to be apart of this show! Raye: Aww XD, So in your own words, describe what link skills are. Kev: Well certain characters have this thing called a “link skill”. These link skills provide a powerful buff, and the amazing thing is that you’re able to share it among another character on the same account. Raye: Ah, and how does these link skills work? Kev: These link skills have levels and the higher the level is, the better the skill is. In order to unlock a link skill. The character first has to reach lvl 70, thats the first level, then you can pick a character you would want to share the skill with. The next level is at 120, you don’t have to re-select the character you want to share with, its self-updating. The final level of the link skill is at lvl 210. Certain link skills do not have a third level, so stopping at 120 is fine. Raye: So how does link skill sharing work? How many characters can you share a skill with? And how many skills can each Character be linked to? Kev: In order to share your link skill with another char, the link skill character has to first reach lvl 70. After reaching lvl 70 you open up your beginners Skill tab and scroll down until you see “link manager”. Open link manager and click on the available button to choose the character you want to share your skill to. 

You can make as many link skill mules as you want, but one character can only hold 12 skills from other characters on the same account. 

Each skill can only be linked to one character at a time.  The link skills don’t stack, so making another character for the same skill will be a waste of time. Raye: Wow that was very informative! I’m sure everyone now has a better understanding of link skills thanks to you. So glad to have you with us! Welcome back everyone! Our show producers had gone out and about and found us a list of different link skills for us to see. Hopefully this list will help everyone decide which link skill mules to make in the future!

Angelic Buster (Terms and Conditions)

Temporarily boost damage for 10 seconds. Cooldown 90 seconds. (Percentages are halved when on shared characters)

LV1: +60% skill damage for 10 sec when active LV2: +90% skill damage for 10 sec when active LV3: +120% skill damage for 10 sec when active

Beast Tamer (Elf Focus)

LV1: Boss damage +4%, Critical rate +4% and MaxHP MaxMP +3% LV2: Boss damage +7%, Critical rate +7% and MaxHP MaxMP +4% LV3: Boss damage +10%, Critical rate +10% and MaxHP MaxMP +5%

Cannoneer (Pirate Blessing)

Permanently boost all stats, Max HP and Max MP. Useful if you have insufficient secondary stat for equipment OR use it to boost your Max HP for higher survivability in boss raids.

LV1: Permanently increases STR by 15, DEX by 15, INT by 15, LUK by 15, Max HP by 5%, and Max MP by 5%. LV2: Permanently increases STR by 25, DEX by 25, INT by 25, LUK by 25, Max HP by 10%, and Max MP by 10%. LV3: Permanently increases STR by 35, DEX by 35, INT by 35, LUK by 35, Max HP by 15%, and Max MP by 15%.

Demon Avenger (Wild Rage)

Permanently increases damage.

LV1: +5% Damage. LV2: +10% Damage. LV3: +15% Damage.

Demon Slayer (Fury Unleashed)

LV1: +10% Damage to Bosses. LV2: +15% Damage to Bosses. LV3: +20% Damage to Bosses.

Hayato (Keen Edge)

LV1: Increase all stats by 10 and weapon attack by 5. LV2: Not Available! LV3: Not Available!

Zen / Jett (Core Aura)

Adds random stats to STR/DEX/INT/LUK and WATT/MATT (? for level 2). You can use NX Items purchased from Cash Shop to change the Core Aura’s stats. Currently Jett has max Level 1 Link Skill.

[NX Items]

Supernova Dust – Change Core Aura’s stats.

Cosmic Dust Shifter – Rotate stats of Core Aura. Changing STR > DEX > INT > LUK.

Condensed Supernova Dust – Change Core Aura’s stats with a higher chance of better stats.

Stellar Cosmic Solidifier – Lock Core Aura’s stats for 30 days. Can stack up to 365 days and will unlock if Core Aura’s stat is changed by using an item.

Star Dust – Change Core Aura stats. Available only from monster drops.

LV1: STR, DEX, INT, LUK, Weapon ATT, Magic ATT. (Small Boost) LV2: STR, DEX, INT, LUK, Weapon ATT, Magic ATT. (Medium Boost) LV3: STR, DEX, INT, LUK, Weapon ATT, Magic ATT. (Large Boost)

Kaiser (Iron Will)

Permanently increases Max HP.

LV1: +10% Max HP. LV2: +15% Max HP. LV3: +20% Max HP.

Kanna (Elementalism)

Deepens your connection to the elements to provide a permanent damage increase.

LV1: +5% Damage. LV2: +10% Damage. LV3: Not Available!

Luminous (Light Wash / Permeate)

Ignores a portion of enemy defense (magic and weapon defense).

LV1: Ignores 10% Defense. LV2: Ignores 15% Defense. LV3: Ignores 20% Defense.

Mercedes (Elven Blessing)

Passively increases EXP Rate. [ACTIVE] Sends you to Elluel, cooldown 1800 seconds. Elluel is a secret hideout accessible by Mercedes only.

LV1: +10% EXP LV2: +15% EXP LV3: +20% EXP

Mihile (Guardian of Light)

Temporarily resist knockback from enemy attacks. Cooldown 180 seconds.

LV1: 100% Knockback Resist for 90 sec. LV2: 100% Knockback Resist for 110 sec. LV3: 100% Knockback Resist for 130 sec.

Phantom (Deadly Instinct)

Passively increases Critical Rate.

LV1: +10% Critical Rate. LV2: +15% Critical Rate. LV3: +20% Critical Rate.

Cygnus Knight (Cygnus Blessing)

Increases resistance to statuses and elements. You can stack this Link Skill up to 5 times. If linked, this skill’s effects will be halved. (2.5% for level 1 and 5% for level 2). (Cannot share with other Cygnus Knights)

LV1: +5% Resistance. LV2: +10% Resistance. LV3: Not Available.

Xenon (Hybrid Logic)

Permanently increases all stats.

LV1: +5% All Stats (STR, DEX ,LUK, INT) LV2: +10% All Stats (STR, DEX, LUK, INT) LV3: Not Available!

Zero (Rhinne’s Blessing)

Ignore Enemy Defense +2/4/6/8/10% and Damage Taken -3/6/9/12/15%

Note: Zero's level up their link skills by collecting Goddess Tear Drops throughout their Story Quests.

Shade (Close Call)

Grants you a chance to survive an attack that would've been fatal.

LV1: 5% Chance to survive a fatal attack LV2: 10% Chance to survive a fatal attack LV3: Not Available

Guide to Mastery Books

Remember back in the days when getting mastery books was such a pain? You had to kill different bosses, or wait for other ppl to kill bosses then sell the books they looted for you to be able to get your hands on one. And even if you got one (after paying tons of meso), theres still a chance of that mastery book might fail; remember that!?

Well introducing the new and improved mastery book system! Players are now able to purchase mastery book 20 and 30 from npcs. These new mastery books are usable for all class and 100% seccess rate! 

You can purchase Mastery book 20 for 3 mil meso (2.88mil with guild discounts), and Mastery book 30 for 5 mil meso (4.88mil with guild discounts). These books can be found in two easy to each locations such as Henesys and Leafre!

For Henesys, go to the potions shop and click on Luna.

For Leafre, click on Illiad the mastery book merchant.

Do keep in mind that you must use the mastery book 20 before being able to use a mastery book 30.

Guide to moving around maple world

This one is for all the players who have been gone for a while and recently came back. Welcome back!

Through out the years, nexon has made traveling within maple world more convenient. We use to have to wait for air ships and hide from monsters on our long flight from Victoria island to Orbis. Now we can get to almost every town within a few minutes. By following the follow steps, you will soon be a master commuter in maplestory.

Step 1: Activate Friend Story. For those of you who just came back, friends story is a spin off story line of “if maple npc went to high school” The quest itself is fairly pointless and long, but the good thing about this update is that you can enter friend story from any town, and leaving friend story will always bring you to Henesys. To start friendstory, click on the black smart phone looking thing on the left hand side of the screen, its normally one of the icons on the top. Once you click it do the story line until you find your self at the left side of the Mushroom house. (you will start off at the right side.)

Step 2: Exit friendstory through the portal to the left, this will always bring you back to henesys. From Henesys you can find the friendstory mushroom house, its the one with the friendstory sign.

Step 3: Click “Quick Move” from the top left (under the mini map), and select the air ship icon.

This will take you to “port road” where you normally would take the different air ships to where you need to go. However, from here instead of going up to take the normal airships, go down the ladder.

Step 4: Entering Patheon. Once you go down the ladder from port road, it will take you to six way path. Towards the top left of the map you will find the Patheon portal attached to the left side of the tree trunk. Click it to enter to Patheon.

Step 5: Exiting Patheon Once at Patheon, you can immediately use the interdimensional portal to the right to take you to whichever town you want to go.

Clicking on it will bring up a list of all the towns you can travel too.

Step 6: Do it all over again! Well you won’t have to redo the friendstory prequest again. You can now just go to any major town, click on the dimensional mirror and select to go to friendstory. Exit friendstory map and find yourself back at henesys!

Guide to Flag Race

FLAG RACE: A guild vs guild jump quest that takes place in an icy map. Depending on the time, the map will either be red sky or blue sky. Flag race happens 5 times a day, the two earlier times you will get the red map, which the 3 later times you will be in the blue map. Different maps requires different strategies.

TIMES: Flag race happens at the same times each day. PST- 12 PM, 7 PM, 9 PM, 10 PM and 11 PM EST- 3 PM, 10 PM, 12 AM, 1 AM and 2 AM

HOW TO KNOW IF THERE IS A FLAG RACE: At the hours above, you will receive a pop up of an envelope above your characters head. Please make sure you are in major towns or normal monster maps, if you are in a party quest map or a boss map you will not be able to receive, or do the flag race. Once you click the envelope, it will ask if you would like to move to the flag race map. Click “yes”

MAPS:

There are two different jump quest course for flag race, red sky and blue sky. Both are icy, slippery and spawn random skills that can be use for the race. The red map which is the map chosen for the earlier time is a smaller map that allows you to choose if you want to go right or left. The left is shorter, consist of a lot of teleporting portals that shoots you to a certain direction and some jumping. The right side involves more jumping and less teleporting, however more skills drop on the right side for those who likes to use skills. The blue map is a one way map. It’s much longer and relies heavily on skills that spawns around the map.

SKILLS:

There are 6 different skills you will find randomly spawning on the maps. The rule is each person can only loot 1 skill ever 10 sec, once you touch it it counts as you looting it. However, if you have a pet, pets can loot as many skills as they like, no time limit. From left to right, the Shield (A) protects you from attacks like cannon balls (players can activate the cannons on the map and use them to fire cannon balls to knock off other players, and energy balls (F) a skill that allows players to throw an energy ball to knock other players around. Hyper jump (s) allows you to jump straight up into the air. It give good high range, but not anything crazy. Test it out yourself to see how high iy allows you to jump. Dash (D) allows you to dash forwards giving you a little more distance then walking. Energy Ball (F) use it to throw at other people who are not in your guild to knock them off platforms and mess up their game. Now the two most important skills. “G” and “H” both teleporting skills that allows you to teleport to a random guild mate on the map, or them to you. These two skills are very important and knowing how to use them is a game changer, especially for the blue map.  “G” the  “Go to” tele skill, allows you to teleport to a random guild mate in the flag race. This can either benefit you or screw you over depending on which guild mate you are being taken to. To be safe, it is best to use this skill when you are at the very bottom of the map.  “H” the “come Here” tele skill, allows you to summon a random guild mate to your location. This skill should only be used when you are near the finishing portal. Using this anywhere else can cause those who are ahead of you to backtrack, and no one wants that!!

HOW TO WIN: Now! The whole point of flag race is to pass the finishing portal 3 times, the first person to pass the portal 3 times will be placed in the winners box and trigger the time clock to end in 60 sec. Winning flag race, or even finishing flag race requires your guild to have team work and good communication with one another. Not everyone is good at jump quests, those who are good should try to get to the finish portal, while those who are not good should do their best to loot skills to either mess other guilds up, or try to teleport to the end somehow. If you are at the end and have a”H” us it to bring someone else up, if you don’t use it at the top, then you are pretty much wasting it.

POINT SYSTEM: Each person in your guild that enters the race who didn’t finish will gain 10 points for your guild. If someone finishes in first place they will gain 100 points, 2nd place 50 points, 3rd 45 points, 4th and after I believe 20 points. I may be wrong, but i’ll find out. Since no matter who wins the points, it all goes to the guild, everyone should help each other out, and not only think about personal winning.

WHATS THE POINT OF ALL THIS!? Although many people see flag race as a way to show off their guild being #1, the main benefit of flag race is that it provides skill points for “Noblesse Skills” in guild. The higher rank you guild is in flag race, the more skill points your guild gets. The skill points reset every week, so if you want the benefit of the skills, you need to flag race.
