–– { ✿❀ }   A light sigh escaped the botanist’s lips. It was true that she had planned to meet up with Winona soon, but she did have a few hours to wait around before that. Surely there was no harm in joining the other. After a few silent moments of thought, the botanist flashed that same beautiful smile across her features once more towards the champion. “I suppose there’s no harm. That is, as long as I’m not keeping you from anything.”

If Wallace would have said so aloud, Erika would most likely agree that the two did have some common qualities about their personalities. As far as finding the right words to describe what about them was alike, that was a bit easier said than done.

"Not at all," Wallace replied easily, waving his hand. Wallace was not the kind of man who would allow himself to be kept from doing something. If Wallace wanted to have a chat with Erika somewhere else, then the editor who requested an appointment for him for the magazine Free! - The Water Pokemon Style would have to wait. He raised his fingers and snapped.

From an alley three feet away, a red and flashy, hovering convertible drove by itself toward them. The car stopped beside Wallace, causing his cape to rise and fall from the soft gust of wind blowing underneath it. In place of tires were four high-speed fans spinning in place, completely silent that it would have been easy to miss them and confuse the hovering car to be an invention of magic.

Wallace opened the passenger seat at the back for Erika, welcoming her in like a true gentleman.

The Sinnoh trainer was almost expecting the other to insist, but what can you do? Not everyone’s exactly the same when it comes to scenarios like this. But not even thanking Lucas or giving him a spare glance? Lucas wasn’t mad, but it was probably a good thing pokemon weren’t allowed in the store. If Rai or Highwind were with Lucas during this incident, they definitely probably would not have liked the guy that Lucas just bumped into. At all.

Luckily Lucas somehow managed to get a cinnamon roll and some sticky buns after the cheese floss incident, so the trip wasn’t a complete bust. He also noticed a few Poffins, of which he managed to grab one. It was sour/dry, which were hard to come by for Lucas. So if anyone would be really happy with this trip, it would be Berry. She loved sour poffins, especially if they were a little dry. He got on line, right behind the man he surrendered the cheese floss bread to.

The cashier beeped in the purchase of the man before Wallace. The transaction finished just as he had stepped in the line. As he moved forward to hand in his tray, Wallace eyed the exiting customer who eagerly inserted his hand into the paper bag on his way out and followed to observe him eating until the man walked out from the square of the window that Wallace saw him through. Hearing tying from the cash register, Wallace slipped out his credit card and handed it to the clerk.

"Is something the matter?" he asked when the clerk started to stare at him. The clerk shook her head, quickly keeping herself occupied to wrap the buns in plastics. Pocketing back his credit card, Wallace took the paper bag by one hand and left, his cloak following after him.

The clerk pushed aside Wallace's tray, looking at Lucas.

"Is that man a celebrity?" she asked once Wallace was gone. "He looked like a foreigner."

Yeah, Calem wasn’t really the best in what it meant speaking properly with strangers, he was too used to the Kalosian language.”My apologies…” He should have remind himself that not everyone spoke it. But well at least the older male didn’t really mind it. However something in this very own town the adult’s attention.

Was probably something infront of him, it was the most plausible answer, the only thing there was the river, it sure was a beautiful river. “Uh… You Sir came here to see the river, didn’t you ?” He took a guess, if he was wrong he try to guess it again perhaps.

"Yeah." There weren't as many rivers in Hoenn as there were sea routes in the open waters, but Wallace vividly remembered one certain river connected by a bridge on two cliffs. Knowing Hoenn, it wasn't in an urbanized setting like this. There, small waterfalls were roaring and fishes were swimming the currents through dangerous blockades of rocks. The grasses were taller than an average adult and clouds of pollen swarmed the air on windy days. It wasn't a region for weak adventurers. Nature was much harsher, but also much more beautiful.

A loud splash came from the side and a terrified scream followed almost simultaneously. Just for a moment, Wallace caught a child sinking at the river's depths.

Wallace pulled out Richard's Pokeball and raised it to his head, aiming for the exact spot the child had dropped in. The river was relatively still and there weren't any sharp rocks to be worried about.

The all-familiar burst of light from a Pokeball shot down to the river. But it didn't come from Wallace's hand. It came straight out of his pants' pocket.

A large wall of water rose thirty-five feet into the air. Many spectators reeled backward from the cold spray of water, but Wallace ignored it, intently staring at the rippling surface of the river. There was a moment of silence filled only by a young woman's sobs.

The next splash burst out from behind them. Whirling around, one could catch the sight of a long, slender flesh-colored coat slithering up in the air. Its end revealed a tail made out of colorful mosaic scales, sparkling glaringly like jewelry from the smallest spots of light. Everyone's heads were looking up to the creature that had hang on the bridge from the air by its tail. On top of its horned head was a child blinking curiously at his surroundings. He gazed down, fifteen feet from the ground where they must look like tiny little ants, giggling.

Wallace watched as his Milotic lowered her head gracefully, allowing the mother to retrieve her giggling child.

He wasn't very impressed.

For the third time, Wallace looked up. Still, he found himself quite alone, save for the unknown, smirking Pokemon before him.

To his credit, Wallace stayed completely calm. Baffled, but calm.

–– { ✿❀ }   “Oh, are we now?” Her tone wasn’t sarcastic, but definitely curious as to what the male meant by such. It wasn’t often the botanist would be told that she was alike somebody else. She was only known as the beauty from Celadon that couldn’t be mistaken for anybody else if an individual even tried. Although, a rather confident smile graced her porcelain perfect features as the male continued with his statement. The world had always been beautiful to her - whether she had personally seen Wallace’s water-types or not. Besides, all in all, grass-types were the best. But Erika was a polite little soul, so she decided to keep those thoughts to herself, and simply reply with a little giggle.

"I see what you mean by us being alike. We’re both rather poise and dignified, are we not?" Well, at least the kimono-clad girl could admit such a thing. She knew she was a wonderful trainer, but she was polite about addressing such. After all, Celadon’s princess was meant to be polite. Strong, beautiful, flawless - that was what she was to be. Erika was meant to be the pure icon of perfection, and though she would sometimes use her qualities as a mask to keep back unnecessary emotions, she knew that she was meant to be. 

Perfect is what she was expected to be.

Well, yes. That was true, but it wasn't what Wallace had in mind exactly. He was thinking of something more special between them.

Er, specific rather. Unique. Wallace mentally chided himself to be extra careful about how he would phrase his thoughts. He wouldn't want to stir up a misunderstanding. He was interested in Erika, but in a completely intellectual way.

"Ah. It's flattering to hear the exact words come from you," he replied honestly. "Would you like to continue our conversation over a cafe? The sight there might interest you." His smile widened noticeably, clearly intent on luring Erika in with her curiosity.
