he winced at the increasing pressure, brow furrowing as he grit his teeth. "gin-" he let out a sigh of relief when she finally lifted the rag from his face and let himself drink her in. the rage at his words that lingered in her eyes, a burning fire. no one had ever looked at him like that and it sent a shiver through him. "okay. i take it back." he reached for her hand, taking it between his and squeezing gently. "you should probably get back. they'll be wondering where you are."
"I don't care." Ginny replied, some of that ferocity leaving her once he finally took back his words. "They can look all they want. You're hurt. I'm not leaving you by yourself right now. Deal with it." Because as far as she was concerned, Draco was stuck with her for the moment.
Ginny kissed @nifflerstolen back when he stole one, but that did not mean she was going to give in. Just because Harry didn't want her to join him and her brother and Hermione on whatever they were getting into? It didn't mean she couldn't. "You're terrible." She murmured into the kiss, shaking her head. "But yes. I can remember. And you are not the boss of me, Harry. I'm coming."

There's a little snort of a laugh before she covers it. That probably wasn't a joke. Did he want a reassurance? Anything? "Well, personally, I don't think any day is uneventful. Not at Hogwarts. I guess 'normal' and 'uneventful' aren't really the same thing to me, though. But... we could try and make an uneventful day? Or... or more, eventful for the right reasons." Perhaps she should try explaining. "Just take a day and wander. No people except people you want to be there. I don't know how much you like exploring the areas outside the castle..."
When she snorted, Harry's cheeks might have turned just a tiny bit pink in embarrassment. Dragging a hand through his hair to try and save face for a moment, he was quickly distracted from that by her idea. "I mean... yeah. Yeah!" He grinned. "Maybe we could go swimming in the lake. It's actually nice out for once, it'd be way better than the last time I was in there." When he was a Tri-Wizard Champion. He shook off that memory fast.
"is that what you think this is?" hermione shakes her head, liberally spraying the slug-bitten lettuce leaves. "believe it or not, @narglestolen, i was offering to talk to you. you've not been yourself lately." she shrugs her shoulders. "i guess that's what i get for thinking you'd talk to me about anything. you can think what you like about me, but i do care."
Pansy couldn't stop herself from softening a little at Hermione's words. Even if the Gryffindor was being just as sassy as she was, it was hard to stay angry. Sure, Pansy could always get a bite into her tone... but at what cost? She shook her head. "I'm fine." She responded, her tone softer. "I just got a rather... unsettling letter from my mother earlier." She couldn't stand her mother.

Arms crossed beneath her breasts, and Ginny averted her eyes from Draco. Sure, she was stubborn. Everyone knew it. But in that moment, it was less her stubborn side fighting, and moreβ¦ something else. "I donβt know if I want to be like you." She replied, voice a whisper. "Iβ¦" She fancied @nifflerstolen. Ginny knew she did. But Draco had a tendency to be cruel that she wasnβt sure she wanted to imitate. "I justβ¦ I thought opposites were supposed to attract."

"you'll see, and stop bloody hitting me, would you?" he grinned at lily regardless, excited to show her what he'd set up. it had taken a few bribes and favours, but it was all worth it to see the look on her face. leading her out of the castle and on to the grounds, james led her towards the large oak tree by the lake where the picnic blanket had been laid out, complete with a basket full of sandwiches, fruits, cheeses, and whatever else he'd managed to grab from the kitchen while his friends distracted the house elves. "madam, would you care to sit with me?"
Lily narrowed her eyes at the Potter boy. "I'll try." She allowed, not quite sure if whatever Potter-esque thing he had planned was going to make her want to smack him upside the head or not. She wasn't violent... she was just violent. Call it a redhead thing. Still, those narrowed eyes softened when they laid eyes on the picnic he had set up. "James..." She whispered, a little smile curving up onto her lips. "I don't even want to know how many rules you broke to do this, do I?" Lily laughed, shaking her head, and then moved to sit.

Lily Evans had never particularly been a rule breaker. However, she had never particularly been a rule follower, either. She had always toed the line between just good enough and just naughty enough. Good enough to become a Prefect, bad enough to use her position to roam the corridors after dark when it wasnβt technically her patrol. That was how she could be found wandering past the trophies that night. What she didnβt expect, however, was company. So, when she heard the other set of footsteps, her own stilled. She raised her wand in front of her.Β βLumos.β The ginger whispered, only to blink. βItβs a little late to be wandering, isnβt it?β

"A Wrackspurt." Luna said again with a sigh, as if it was silly that the other person didnβt know what she was going on about. "Theyβre invisible, of course. They float around unseen and in through your ears. Make your brain go allβ¦ fuzzy." With a little nod, she hummed as she looked around, though she knew full well sheβd not be able to see the invisible creature. "I thought I felt one. Zooming about."

draco steels his jaw, not wanting to show weakness in front of the famous potter. "what are you driveling on about, potter? you're not making any sense." it did make sense, however, though how potter had found out - that draco didn't have the answer to. his fingers itched by his pocket where he kept his wand. if he needed to defend himself he wanted to be prepared.
He groaned some. Draco Malfoy wasn't exactly his friend - hell, he was probably his worst enemy. Voldemort included, honestly. There was something that had always just sat wrong with him about Draco. Ever since their first meeting. "Whatever stupid stuff you're trying to do in the Room, whatever you're working on, a bunch of bloody Death Eaters just came out of there - so congrats, I guess it worked. But they're talking about how you didn't do your job properly, so if you don't wanna be caught up in whatever they're doing, I'd run, Malfoy. Just... I'd run." He was giving him a chance. Either Draco would take his warning... or he'd have a wand aimed at him in a minute.

james grins. "i think it's a little late to be saying that now, lils. we've already done it." and by it, he means sneaking out of hogwarts to go on a late night rendezvous. what lily doesn't know is that he has a picnic set up by the large oak tree overlooking the lake. a couple jars of fireflies illuminating the area so they could see.
Lily groaned and swatted lightly at James' arm. Sneaking out wasn't usually in her repertoire. Sure, she had done it a couple times? But usually she just relented in the fact that Prefects rounds got her out and about the castle at times when others weren't allowed. This, however, was a little different. "Where are we even going, Potter?" She asked, a little flirty and a little exasperated all at once.

luna's words throw neville so much he drops his book, the sound echoing through the library where they were sat studying in companionable silence. not sure he heard her right, neville asks what she said and there it is. the unavoidable truth of it. neville feels sick to this stomach, but not with fear or any other negative feeling. it's a sick kind of hope. "she remembers me?"
A soft expression came across Luna's features, and she nodded. "Of course she does."The blonde replied, reaching out to rest her hand atop his. "They both do. It's just the wrackspurts, you know? After torture like that... its so easy for them to get inside their heads. They nest there. Sometimes its like the person isn't there at all anymore... but every now and then there's this clarity. It's short, hard to figure out what they mean... but..." She hummed a bit. "Most of the time, they think you're a baby. But that doesn't stop them from caring. They love you."

draco gave her a pained expression, hissing slightly as she pressed a damp flannel to the cut on his temple. he'd gotten into a fight with harry and had come out of it worse for wear. instead of going to pansy, or any of his other friends, he'd sought out ginny. swallowing heavily, he reached out and grabbed her hand. "are you sure it's me who wouldn't want you? maybe after the flames die down you'll realise i'm worthless."
Ginny glared a bit at his words. Pressed the damp rag into his exposed wound with more pressure in rebuke of them. Almost like she was punishing him for saying them at allβ¦ while still tending to him all the same. "Take it back, Malfoy." She muttered at him like a threat. "You know Iβm not that shallow. And you. Arenβt. Worthless." Between each word, she added more pressure, and then without warning she eased up, as if it had never happened at all.

"why not both?" he smirked at the red haired weasley, body crowding her against the wall where they were currently hiding from the prying eyes of other students and teachers. "i think i know what i want to do more," he whispered, eyes moving to her lips.
Her back hit the wall, and Ginnyβs eyes narrowed in a way that was half annoyance, half heat. "I knew you were kinda weird, Draco, but I didnβt think youβd be into getting hit." The ginger teased, lips twitching up at the corners as her arms wound up and around his shoulders. "Keep talking." She added, teasing him a bit as she stood on her toes and brushed her lips against his.
