Myeong frowned ever so slightly but nodded anyway, sighing softly. “I had just ordered a water.” They admitted, feeling a sense of irony on their shoulders before sitting down in their chair. “I suppose I’ll get a cup of tea now.”

“A cup of tea coming right up!” She smiled brightly at them, glad that they were not freaking out on her and moved behind the counter. “Um,” She turned back to them, “What kind of tea?”

I’m seriously trying, but work and rent are kicking my behind.

That’s cool. I find that to be amazing really. Most cars that I’ve gotten the chance to look inside of are a mystery machine to me. Although I have a friend that is forever talking smack about cars.

The faster Dakota’s pen scratched across the paper attached to her clipboard, the louder the noise became. Her tongue was half stuck out in concentration, ignoring the chaos going on in the back of the ambulance beside her. Just as she was about to sign off on the report, something, or rather someone ran into her, nearly knocking her off the curb she was balancing on. “Whoa, where’s the fire?” She frowned, turning to glance back at the girl then down at her now soaked t-shirt. “This ain’t nothin’ compared to what I usually get all over me, no worries.”

Nari shook her head a little, “No. No fire.” She looked down, then cleared her mouth, “I was just in a bit of a rush and was not paying attention.” She looked down at the girl’s shirt all dripping in cranberry juice. “That’ll get sticky soon though.”

Oh? My apologies, then. And I guess it’ll be fine. This thing is pretty old as it is, so it shouldn’t surprise me that it might be looking at it’s end.

They blinked and turned slowly to stare at the girl, curious as to why he acted the way she did. Myeong let out a soft “ah” when they saw the blood, their eyebrows raising. “Go run cold water on that.” They said clearly and stepped out of the puddle of water. “Get someone else to clean it up.”

“No, no.” She said putting her finger in her mouth to stop the bleeding. “It’s just a little blood. See?” She pulled her finger out, for them to see. “Nothing that a bandaid can’t sure, surely.” She placed the broken pieces on a counter near her, then turned, “So what would you like today? Like I told you, any drink is on me.”

Myeong only grunted softly, looking down at the girl briefly before folding their blazer in half, hanging over the back of a near by chair. They plucked a folded napkin from an empty table and began dabbing off the water, looking back to make sure it wasn’t on their shirt. “It’s only water.” They sighed again. After a long day like the one they had, they were fairly detached from their surroundings.

Nari kept cleaning the mess around her while he spoke, “Thank you.” Although she didn’t know exactly what she was thanking them for, “You may have any choice of beverage you’d like. It’s on me.” She tried her best to make amends. Nari yelped as a piece of glass sliced the tip of her middle left hand finger, and she cursed under her breath. “I should probably get a broom.” She spoke shaking her hand to somehow evade the pain.

Myeong felt the bump, stumbling forward and letting out a soft hiss when the cold liquid seeped through the back of their shirt. They face scrunched up as they shivered and made quick to take off their blazer. “… at least it’s only water.” They sighed out.

“I am- “ Nari took a deep breath, bracing herself for the yelling that usually took over when something like this happened. “I was distracted, I take full blame.” She ducked down to pick at the large broken pieces of glass the surrounded them.

The brunette slid into the seat across from her, noting that when she said that she wasn’t as fluent, she probably wasn’t from the states which meant maybe she hasn’t been here at Elysium for that long; Tarah always wondered what the rest of the world was like. “At least the tips aren’t bad, right? It’s probably the only reason why I haven’t thrown in the towel just yet.” Tarah has been working at Madison Theater for awhile now and she’s had her fair share of bratty kids and rude mothers whose almost pushed her over the edge. “So, Nari, what’s your favorite breakfast food? Please don’t say waffles.”

"No. Tips are alright.” Nari said, “Depending on who’s ordering really. A lot of kids come here, and they are not exactly well known for tipping..” Kids would fly into the small restaurant as soon as school was over. It was very good towards business itself, but for the workers there it might as well be hell with the mess they would leave behind. Or the food fights that many would try to initiate. “It must be much easier at the movie theaters no? Not counting the pop corns that fly around when they don’t like the endings, Haha.” Nari laughed remembering the first time she ever went there. “I would have to pick either the chicken fried steak, or the french toast. How about you?”

“Okay, yeah, do you wanna share?” The brunette asked, knowing that working at a restaurant was a lot of long hours and patience when it comes to pleasing to every single customer’s request. “How do you like working here?” She asked, Nari seemed like a really nice girl and if it’s one thing Tarah needs in her life, is more friendly faces.

She pondered the question a second, looking at her watch. It had been more then four hours since she started, so a lunch was in order. “Alright give me one sec.” She ran to the Team Leader working for the day and told them she was taking her break, “Alrighty.” She said, clocking out. “Um, the job is easy enough that I can do it, and I like that I don’t have to talk a lot because I’m not that fluent.” Nari laughed a little, taking a seat in a booth.

Tarah followed closely behind, “Yeah, I can make this work.” She responded when the women offered her a plain t-shirt. She turned around and quickly changed from the spoiled shirt to the plain one, “I’m not going to report you for a little syrup,” a soft laugh escaped from her lips as she turned to look at Nari. “Well, it’s nothing a bandage can’t fix. I’m Tarah.”

“Thank you.” Nari said, finally smiling at the girl. It was nice to find a nice person once in a while. “Well the least you could let me do is order you our Breakfast Sampler. On the house.” Employees at the kitchen got a max of two meals free, and she was more then willing to give one of hers away to the girl.

“Okay, yeah.” She responded, nodding her head as she grabbed a few more extra tissues. “Don’t worry, I get that it happens sometimes.” She reassured her, realizing that she’s seen the women before from work.

“This way,” Nari began to walk towards the back of the kitchen where they could find some cleaning supplies, and plain shirts for their job. “You can change into one of these if you’d like?” She felt so guilty. “And I’m Nari. In case you’d like to speak with someone here.” Nari looked around for a broom stick for the food and glass on the floor. “You could have been seriously hurt.” She said referring to the shattered glass of milk that had fell out her hand.

Tarah turned around as she felt something hit against her, looking at the petite women when she turned around. “It’s fine, it was a cheap shirt anyways.”
