Tao isn’t worried about Nick. Rugby King Nick Nelson has taken care of himself for a good many years before his life intersected with Tao’s. He doesn’t need a babysitter. It’s just that Tao has seen Nick opening beer after beer, trying and failing to engage with the party, mostly sitting on the couch alone, staring off into space. And Tao saw the look in his eyes when he filmed that clip for Charlie: so vulnerable, he could break. Tao played it off as a joke, breaking news, Nick Nelson loves Charlie Spring and all that, but the look in Nick’s eyes as Tao stared down the viewfinder is one he won’t soon forget. So it’s not that he’s worried when he sees Nick stumble upstairs, alone, and decides to follow him. It’s just that… Oh, f*ck it.
