Lacquer Legion February nail art - Adoration
Base color - Red Carpet Manicure Expresso Yourself
Spots - China Glaze White on White
There are few things in life I adore more than my dogs, so I decided to put spots on my nails in their coloring for this month's lacquer legion challenge.
Fish tail manicure
The rain tapped against the windows as Rona breathed an audible sigh of relief. "I was worried this drought would go on forever." She bit her lip as she gave a sheepish grin, "Like the gods way of punishing us for some reason."
Beside her Marx smiled and brushed Rona's long bangs behind her ear. "What would the gods be punishing us for, sweet Ronina?"
She shook her head, undoing the work of his clever fingers, flinging her bangs back in front of her eyes where she hid from his loving gaze. It made her uncomfortable. "For not treasuring what's before us. Perhaps they were threatening to take it away, to show us how important the rain is."
Marx leaned back in his chair and turned his attention to the rain as it slid down the window's glass. "You've always loved the rain."
Rona's shoulders dropped as she relaxed, "I've always loved any kind of water. Mother used to joke that I was part fish. But the rain has always been special, for it brings life back to the earth."
Marx snorted, "You're so.... spiritual." He flashed her a grin, but as she shrunk away from his affection he turned away again.
Rona stood and went to the window, she let her fingers copy the flow of the water as it gathered and created rivulets. "Everything about the earth is beautiful in its own way. But life, that is amazing, a miracle. The only thing that could make me believe in things like gods. In all the universe to have just the right set of circumstances to create life, to create us, it's amazing." Her words spun faster and faster as the excitement of existence began to jumble itself in her head.
The scrape of the chair against the floor told her that Marx was standing too. At first she tensed as he threw his arm around her shoulders, but then she forced herself to relax. He didn't say anything, just stood quietly by her as she watched the rain pour down.
Time began to slow as it did when he was so close beside her. Rona focused on the rain, on its cooling presence, and she let the corners of her mouth turn upwards. Renewal was coming.
