General Guidelines
You can submit fanfiction, drabbles, podfic, poetry, sketches, a mixtape—whatever medium you feel passionate about! There is no minimum word count.
This event is meant to be for fun—don't feel like you have to create something perfectly polished in order to participate (although if you want to, you can!)
We encourage you to cheerlead others' work by commenting and sharing. A kind comment or tag can go a long way!
The main (SFW) prompts are open to all ages, but you must be 18+ to create NSFW works.
SFW works can be up to T-rated. They can contain swearing, light substance use (alcohol, smoking), mild suggestive language, "fade-to-black" or implied sex, but can't contain explicit sex or graphic violence.
NSFW works can be M- or E-rated, and must be properly tagged with kinks and relevant content warnings. Please take care to warn for topics like suicidal ideation and suicide, especially if you are exploring them more graphically than they are shown in the text of the game.
We do not allow the use of generative AI for this event.
FAQs
Can I combine days or prompts? Yes, you can do that if you wish. You can also combine SFW and NSFW prompts.
Can I include other pairings? Yes, OT3s and polycules are fine, as long as there is a focus on the Fran/Adrian dynamic.
Can I interpret the prompts broadly/loosely? The prompts are meant as inspiration, and you're welcome to interpret them how you want to! We've tried to make them open ended to give creators the option to make them their own.
Can I combine the Fradrian Week prompts with prompts from other fan events (like AA bingo)? As long as it's okay with the organizers of the other event(s), we're fine with that!
@narumayoweek2025 thank you for putting together another great event this year! Last chapter and I'm glad I was able to finish it. Warning for some mild suggestive content at the end. On AO3 and under the cut!
Prompt: Confessions
Before departing Kurain Village the following morning, they completed the last ritual. It went quicker than expected, because most of it had already been done. Apparently, the Fey woman gifted a magatama to her intended. Phoenix examined his, remembering that it was given to him by Maya.
“That explains your reaction when you saw the magatama.” He said to Wymer.
“Yuppp.” He drawled. “She put her stamp on you a long time ago.”
“I really didn’t know at the time!” Maya countered, a slight blush rising on her face. “I just thought it would protect you. And even after I found out, it isn’t binding without the full ritual. But…here we are.”
“Yes, and all that’s left to do is string it.” Maeve presented the repaired leather, appearing cleaner but just as well-loved.
Maya accepted it with gratitude, adding his magatama and four blue agate beads. Her fingers folded over the jade, her eyes briefly closing as she bestowed a portion of her spiritual power. Then, she fastened the knot around his neck to applause and cheers. He drew her into an embrace, relishing her gentle laugh and the sentiment she whispered in his ear.
“Now, let’s go home.”
They were seen off at the station by the elders. Marlene practically dumped a hefty lunchbox in Phoenix’s hands, and she beamed. “The paper charm for safe travels was written by Meredith.”
“Oh, thank you.” He looked toward the other woman, and was startled to see her red eyes and deeper frown. “Um, are you crying?”
“I most certainly am not. It’s my allergies.” She sniffed.
“Don’t believe her, she’s a sucker for romance.” Muriel waggled her wrinkled fingers. “You two behave, and try not to make the engagement last too long! I want to be at the wedding.”
“Of course, Elder Muriel.” Maya dutifully kissed her cheek and hugged her, repeating the gesture with the other two. “I’ll let you know when we visit again.”
On the train, Phoenix broached the topic. “So, there is one important thing we have to take care of.”
“Hm?”
He sighed, realizing how much work this was going to entail. “Confessing to everyone else that we’re engaged for real.”
***
This time, Maya called Pearl first. Even without her on speaker, her cousin’s scream of delight came through.
“I knew it! I knew you’d fall in love for real! Oh, I’m so happy…I wish I was there.”
“You really didn’t miss much, Pearly.” Maya assured, and indulged in retelling the details. That lasted the entire train trip, and after they disembarked, it was a similar process with Trucy, who had been waiting for them.
“I could tell Daddy was thinking differently about you.” She gave a meaningful look. “But I wanted you to be my new mom since the night we met. So, when will the wedding be?”
“Not for another year, at least.” Nick said. “We agreed that’d be a good timeline.”
In the office, Athena seemed disappointed that it wasn’t any sooner. “The cherry blossoms would be a wonderful backdrop. Or even the autumn leaves, especially in the mountains.”
“Save that idea for you and Simon.” Maya teased, to her spluttering.
It was easier to explain to Apollo, since he had no idea of what had transpired, and he bellowed his congratulations over the video call. “I’ll be back in the States by then, so I’ll find a wedding gift here.”
Then, they visited the prosecutors’ building. Sadhmadhi wasn’t there, but Blackquill was, smirking at the update. Edgeworth had basically no reaction, mildly stating. “I was under the assumption that it was real the entire time.”
“Are you serious?!” Nick apparently couldn’t help the outburst.
“I should be asking you that, when you and Maya decided to fake an engagement. Anyone with logic could see that this was going to be the outcome.”
Both of them were flustered after they left his office, not to mention starving. They grabbed takeout for dinner and ate at his place with Trucy, before she turned in for an early night, citing a show in the morning. So, Phoenix escorted Maya, in a leisurely but terribly short stroll to her apartment.
“Good night, Maya.” He kissed her cheek; he was being a gentleman, infuriatingly so. “I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“Or you could stay over. For more.” She was too shy to explain further, biting her lip at the heat in Nick’s stare. She stepped back into her foyer, and once he crossed the threshold, she pulled him in.
Clothes were discarded on the floorboards, as they turned to her room. There was clumsiness and awkward fumbling, but always love, steering every touch and movement. Maya’s nervousness burned away, in the flame that was spreading across her body, down to the tips of her fingers and toes. Phoenix was careful with her, asking constantly if she was okay, if this was alright, if he needed to slow down.
“Nick. If you don’t have me right now, I’m going to explode.” She finally told him, exasperated and breathless.
In the moonlight, his shoulders shook with laughter. “Good, because I can’t wait either.” Then, there were no more words for a while.
When she could catch her breath again, she found herself idly stroking the damp back of his neck. He was already dozing and his grip had slackened, yet his hands rested firmly on her hip and lower back. This felt right. And although they still had so much to discuss about the future, Maya had no further objections. They could overcome any challenge as they always had.
@narumayoweek2025 delayed a bit because I wasn't feeling so great yesterday, but managed to finish this part! On AO3 and under the cut.
Prompt: Proposal
There were three rituals to finalize an engagement, as Phoenix quickly learned.
The first was paying respects to Maya’s family, although it was at an altar with a hanging mirror. The relatively young portraits of Maya’s father and Mia, and the more recent picture of Misty were lined in a row. He lit incense for all three and Maya had a conflicted expression, her voice a little shaky as she recited a prayer and request to watch over them. He shared the same sentiment, bowing in unison with her. When they stood upright, they faced their reflections standing shoulder to shoulder. And despite the somber atmosphere, the image was comforting.
The second was a visit to Ami Fey’s shrine, where they cut cords with a ceremonial knife and tied them together to represent their future union. It seemed straightforward enough, but once he placed the blue and purple braided cord at the foot of the statue for an ancestral blessing, the loud clanging of a bell made him turn his head. Maya was looking out of the shrine’s entrance, asking the priestesses outside.
“What’s going on?”
“A security breach, we’ll escort you back.”
Phoenix took Maya’s arm, hurrying to the master’s compound. His phone vibrated and to his shock, he had multiple missed calls and voicemails. The most recent was Edgeworth, and he dialed back. His friend picked up on the first ring, his voice terse.
“Wright. Where are you?”
“In Kurain Village. Did something happen?”
“Delmar Linwood left evidence that he wrote the ‘cursed’ message you mentioned. Unfortunately, he seemed to have feigned a vomiting episode and escaped from the ambulance.”
Phoenix scowled. “He has to be the reason for the security alert we just heard.”
Edgeworth clicked his tongue. “He must have taken a cab to get there so quickly. And Maya?”
“She’s been with me the whole time, and I’m not leaving her side.”
“…Good. The police should be there soon.” The call ended. Maya, who’d listened to everything, tightened her grasp on him.
At this point, they reached the front steps and the elders motioned them inside. Muriel smacked his elbow as he passed. “Took you long enough. Draggin’ your feet, per usual.”
“Wait, is that why you call me Dragon?”
But the only response was a cackle, before they were sealed inside the most secure chamber of the compound.
***
Phoenix must have paced the sparse chamber a dozen times, until the adrenaline abated and he settled on the bamboo mat next to Maya. Without opening her eyes or breaking her meditative posture, she nonchalantly said. “Well, at least we finished the second ritual before the alarm. No bad luck for us.”
“Does it really cause bad luck?”
“About as much as the curse, but I think it’s because former lovers used to interrupt the rituals. In between each ritual was considered fair game though, just in case either the bride or groom changed their mind.”
“I guess that makes sense, in a way?”
“Yes, I know it’s complicated.”
“It’s not worse than state laws.”
That earned him a laugh and he smiled. Even in this stressful situation, they could enjoy each other’s company. It solidified the growing feeling he had, since her suggestion on that starry night.
“But speaking of the curse, it sounds like Delmar’s behind it all. So…that solves our reason for pretending to be engaged.”
“Do we have to keep pretending?”
Her eyes shot open and she met his gaze. Her eyes were filled with trepidation, her lips pressing together. “Nick. What are you saying?”
“What if I don’t want this to end?”
“I…you…” She was at a loss for words, and Phoenix gently held both of her hands.
“Of course, it’s not like I’m asking to get married tomorrow, but I want to date you with that in mind. You’re my best friend and my partner, Maya, I can’t imagine spending the rest of my life without you. I can go on and on about your kindness, your sense of humor, your adventurous spirit. But really, the crux of it is that I love you. You’ve been right here all along, with me, and I want you forever.”
Tears were sliding down her cheeks now, but she gasped and smiled. “I never thought I’d hear you say that. I thought it was going to be one-sided. I love you too, Nick. I’ve loved you for so long…”
And he couldn’t tell who moved first but he didn’t care. He was kissing Maya, and nothing else mattered.
Some minutes later, realizing they were sprawled on the mat, he drew back from her and exhaled. “As fun as this is, my back’s telling me otherwise.”
She snickered. “Are you sure? All we did was make out.”
He groaned, rolling over to ease the cramping pain. “There’d be more if we weren’t in lockdown.”
“Oh?” She perked up, obviously intrigued. “Wanna share?”
“Nope, not yet.”
“Well, you’re lucky I’m very patient.” She embraced his middle, and he ran his hand through her silky hair.
“Yeah, I am.” He pecked her forehead, watching her lashes flutter. There weren’t any windows in the chamber, and the day had already been hectic. “If you’re tired, we can take a nap. Just a nap.”
“Spoilsport.” But she cuddled closer. “Love you.”
Already, his heart squeezed. “Love you too.” If that exchange is what’ll happen from now on, I’m definitely lucky.
And an hour later, after Delmar was safely in custody and the chamber door was unlocked, the elders woke them to the raucous noise of a celebrating village.
Remember when some anti/s didn't like the idea of Maya pregnant with Phoenix's child? And how we mostly fw the idea~? What better way to end this wonderful week than with art of such that?
Cause remember, ~The Phoenix x Maya Love spans through generations! 💙⚖️🔮💜~
@narumayoweek2025 longest chapter yet! Up on AO3 already, tags will be updated shortly.
Prompt: Healing
“You should go home, Maya. I’ll be fine.”
Maya looked at his prone outline on the cramped white bed; Nick’s face was turned away from the dim overhead light, his vision was still sensitive. She insisted. “It’s okay, I’m not leaving you alone in the ER. You were in a car accident, right in front of us.” And the other driver had escaped, which stung. “Besides, I want to stay with you.”
Wordlessly, he held out his palm and she covered it with her own.
The wait lasted deep into the night, but Nick was discharged. Luckily, his CT scan was normal and he was given paperwork about concussion symptoms. Maya guided him through the hospital’s front doors, and immediately spotted Athena, hands on the steering wheel of a black car.
“Over here!” She called out. “Boss, how’re you doing?”
“Urgh…”
“He’s been nauseous, especially with too much light.” Maya explained. “But he has to take the next few days off. I’ve got your meds, Nick, just a few seconds.” She helped him into the back, nearly hitting her own head on the roof when she realized there was a fourth person. Simon was in the passenger seat, silent as a grim reaper.
“Both of the Linwoods have been arrested. The son was found in possession of the mask, but the car was registered to the father. Athena and I are assigned to the son’s trial, which will be at the end of the week. So, focus on healing, Wright-dono.”
“…Thank you.” He winced a little as he turned to Maya, but by his raised eyebrows, he was surprised by how much the prosecutor had just said.
“Everyone buckled in?” Athena asked. “I’ll drop you off first, boss.”
“Maya should be first.”
“Or I can stay with you.” Realizing how bold that was, she was embarrassed but kept going. “I can take your couch, just for a few hours. It’s already two o’clock.”
His mouth pressed into a thin line, yet his gaze softened. “Okay. But I’ll call Gumshoe to give you an escort in the morning. Or later today, I guess.”
Satisfied with the plan, they set off. After Nick swallowed his meds, he dozed off; his fingers had found hers in the dark and even after they slackened, she didn’t let go.
***
The following week was actually quite busy. Maya and Trucy alternated caring for Phoenix, Pearl having to return to Hazakura. The elders also wanted an update, not just on the double Linwood arrest but their relationship too. The magazines were rife with their date photos, including the beach ones of Nick. She had put those aside, not that she’d tell anyone. Meanwhile, Athena was running across town, preparing for the trial.
“I think I have an alibi for Wymer.” She shared. “He wouldn’t tell me who he was meeting but Ema found the surveillance footage. It’s not great though.” She flipped a grainy picture of Wymer, and a young woman with braided hair.
Maya studied it and gasped. “I know her. That’s Maeve, Marlene’s daughter. She’d be a good witness, and she lives in the city for her textiles work.”
“Gotcha! Thanks so much!”
As for Nick, the worse of his concussion had passed, but now, the muscle aches were his biggest concern. It was expected, he’d been hit pretty hard. Whiplash had impacted his neck, and he grumbled when he had to pivot his whole body instead.
“I feel like a zombie.”
“Aw, if I give you a massage, will you not eat me?”
“I’d only eat you if you asked.” He snorted but flopped onto the couch. He grimaced, he had to be hurting badly.
“Let me know if anything is too much.”
She eagerly worked on his neck and shoulders, and he groaned, a low thrilling sound. She felt warm as she kneaded the tension out of his muscles. When she found particularly good spots, he tilted back into her touch, and she couldn’t resist grinning.
“How’s that?”
“The best I’ve felt in days.” He looked up at her, a broad smile on his face. “Thanks, Maya. I know I’ve been through worse, but my body’s not what it used to be and it’s been a while since I felt this crappy.”
“That’s what I’m here for. In sickness and in health, after all, like in the vows.” She said, half-jokingly, as she went to grab the medicinal patches from the counter.
He stared at her, the intensity startling. “Right. Speaking of vows-”
The door flew open, Trucy bursting in with a large bag. “I’m back, and I picked up noodles! Oh…am I interrupting something?”
They hurriedly assured her otherwise, and ate lunch together. Then, they went to the courthouse lobby to support Athena. She was occupied, talking to a tearful woman who Maya realized was Maeve. She was a couple years younger than Maya, but had always been mature and reliable, with a stubborn streak. Her break in composure was very atypical.
“Wy’s innocent, you have to believe me! He’s got a foul mouth and he’s too concerned with his dad’s approval, but he’d never hurt anybody!” Then, she saw their little group and paled. “Master Maya.”
Maya stepped forward. “Don’t worry, you have a wonderful attorney representing him today. Keep believing in Wymer, alright?”
Trucy gave her a handkerchief, and then, they took their seats in the gallery. It was kind of refreshing to watch from this perspective. Athena and Simon were in full force, hurtling objections and picking apart the testimony from Maeve, Wymer, and Delmar. The truth emerged, that Delmar had been the driver and had told his son to hide the mask. However, Wymer couldn’t, and after a grueling cross-examination, he admitted that he hated to betray his family but couldn’t let the masons’ reputation be tarnished any further.
“I never wanted to marry a Fey anyway, that was all a masonic plot since I was little. It’s Maeve I love, and I’ve been saving money from what I sold, to leave Hidden Valley. I’m not sorry for those things, but I apologize for not stopping my dad.” His gaze lifted to the gallery, and then, he bowed his head.
He was declared not guilty for the assault charge, but he’d be tried later for obstruction of justice, which he was already accepting of. Back in the lobby, Maya shook his hand.
“I’m sorry too, as the Master. It’s clear there’s old pain that needs to be addressed in the valley, and I’ll do my best to restore understanding.”
“That sounds great, but shouldn’t you have your ceremony first?”
Maeve swatted his arm. “Forgive him, Master Maya. But we are looking forward to a Master’s wedding!”
Maya hesitated, pondering if she should clear things up. However, a hand slid across her shoulders, and she turned to look at Phoenix. He simply said. “We wish you two the best.”
After they left, she asked. “Hey, you didn’t object?”
“Well…I was thinking, Maya…” He seemed nervous. Then, he glanced around at the people in the lobby, especially the expectant faces of Trucy, Athena, and Simon. “Technically, we don’t know who wrote the curse? Wymer denied it, but we haven’t found out who the writer was.”
“Oh, um, that’s true. So, we’ll keep at it.”
“Yup.”
“That means we have to return to Kurain Village, for the rituals.”
“Looking forward to it.” His ears were red again, even though she wasn’t touching him.
They filed out of the lobby, and as they descended the courthouse steps, Trucy squeezed her hand and whispered. “Daddy took the easy way out, but just be patient a little longer!”
And before Maya could question what she meant, the girl was already striding over to Nick. He turned her hat by the brim, a familiar habit, and she giggled. Maya’s curiosity didn’t fade, but beside it, a spark of hope awakened.
