neil hilborn, numbered days
I can’t, it fucking hurts.
There’s a certain something that happens to my body when I’m around you. I melt a little every time you hold me in your arms and kiss me. I cry a little more with every time we part our ways.
God, why does it hurt so much to love somebody?
Asako Narahashi - “Half Awake, Half Asleep in the Water” 2008
“Every transformation demands as its precondition “the ending of a world” - the collapse of an old philosophy of life.”
—
Carl Jung
“The worst loneliness is not to be comfortable with yourself.”
— Mark Twain
“Tell me you love me. If you don’t, then lie.”
— Coldplay / True Love
When in love, stay absurd!
That 19th phone psychoanalysing my father never came. You never stopped by to say hello, before I could even raise my hand to wave to you, you turned your back and disappeared.
I kept wondering how that happened. You wanted to video-call and then, you stopped texting me. It’s as if I was a dream for you. Something for the night, only. You and your nightly engagements felt so romantic, perhaps only to me and never to you. We were so close yet so far. Love was so close, yet so far.
I waited for you. Through everything. I went through two whole phases of my life hoping that you’d like me to share them with you but there it is, you never came. We could have lived for tomorrow but, Tomorrow Never Came.
The Future’s Memories
He liked taking pictures of me. In everything I did. Whether it was eating a large stake burger or putting lipstick. He liked what he saw and he wanted to freeze every moment.
Intimacy was freezing the moment for him. It was me letting freeze the moment and keep it as a memory. There was nothing better than watching him wanting to be so involved with my life. I love my life, there’s no way I wouldn’t share it with somebody like him.
