The objects that make up this piece are the results of experiments with materials and molding processes. Looking at the body as a found object, the experiments tried to capture the alluring characteristics of this object. The smooth, porous, subtly detailed texture of its surface. Soft indentations. The structure underneath. Shapes and forms that are only insinuated. Escaping the reproduction or representation of a body. The process and its evidence felt more like the tracing of an object.

FECUNDITY
New growth. I was thinking about cellular reproduction. It reminded me of my mother. Her womb. The cellular reproduction that lead to me, similar to the tumorous growths she held before me. Benign copies of her. My origin story. It made me think about humankind created from clay. Throughout religions, all the same. I found out that clay could have been an important component in the creation of RNA. Our origin. Holding and bending metal used in the production of cities. New growth. Plastic ball filled of clay. Materials of production in relation to forms of reproduction.

First I made a table. Then I thought about a table. Thought on a table. I ate on a table. I worked on a table. This common object became bigger and more obvious within my surroundings. I saw pictures of tables and read about extravagant dinners, political drama. The Silent participant in historical events and in our homes. A stage.
Then I add a seesaw mechanism. Two people must sit and the table becomes an active participant in a conversation without words. The dynamic nature of relationships is highlighted by the performance of a dinner.
