“You know that better than anyone. Some people are greedy, are you greedy?” Leaving out a small giggle as soon as Nate flipped them over, she got comfortable underneath him. “Maybe.. later.. I mean.. you choose..” It was a question Sophie was having a hard time to reply, her mind focusing on the small kisses he pressed on her skin; back arching slightly. “You’re the man.. you decide.”
“I’m greedy when it comes you to.” He offered her with a cheeky smile, his eyes scanning over her features, thankful that she seemed to be happier than earlier. “Later? Not right now?” He asked between kisses, smiling against her skin as he felt her absentmindedly press up against him. “Later it is.” He decided, kissing his way up her neck and along her jaw. “Is later alright with you?”
His reply was exactly what she wanted to hear. With a wide smile on her lips, Sophie tried to forget about all the problems that were stuck in her mind for a while and nudged her nose against Nate’s. “You already have me, silly.”
“Then I must be the happiest man alive if I have everything I want.” He smiled, tangling his fingers in her hair and pulling her to him, flipping them over and hovering above her. “We going to go on our walk or..” He trailed with a questioning brow, grinning down at her and beginning to place butterfly kisses along her collarbone.
“Hell yes, you do..” She whispered, biting on her bottom lip once he pulled back from the kiss. “Mhm, yeah.. of course. Yup. Anything my boyfriend wants. This is your chance to add some stuff on the list, since I won’t be taking my word back..” Running her fingers over his jaw, she leaned to peck his lips softly. “Anything you want.”
“Hell yeah I do.” He agreed with a laugh, letting his hands slide lower down her back, squeezing at her sides as he did so. “Anything, I like that. What? No.. now you’ve put me on the spot, I can’t think of anything. I just want you.” He said sweetly with a grin.
“You love me for it.” Sticking her tongue out at him, Sophie wrapped her arms around his neck, lips pressing softly on his own. “Great. I don’t want to wake up swimming in a week from now. You can’t have everything in life, silly. It’s either that, or no baby. I’ll get you that peg, don’t give me that face.”
“Do I really?” He teased with a cocked brow before kissing her again only this time a bit harder. “Swimming around the apartment? That would be fun. Well I have you so you can’t blame me for thinking I can have it all in life. I’ll do whatever you want and need though you know that. I’ll give you that face if it’ll make you get me a peg when I’ll need it.”
“What? Stop what?” She teased, smiling wider at his reaction when she finally sat on his lap; hands moving down his chest. “Well, right now I think you’re the one overthinking everything.. when I just want my boyfriend to kiss me.” Sophie grumbled, straddling his lap gently when he finally sat up. “The dad is supposed to be also handy around the house.. we need to fix the shower tomorrow. no pegs for your nose, mister. If I go through labor and you faint, you’ll have to deal with the smell for as long as it takes.”
“You’re such a tease.” Nate laughed, hands pressed hard against the middle of her back as she sat straddling his lap. “Okay, no more overthinking then.” He chuckled, leaning in and catching her lips with his. “Yes m’am, I’ll get right on it. That’s not fair! You know I don’t do well seeing you in pain and then seeing that happen is most likely going to affect me. C’mon I need a peg to stop the smell.”
He said it was okay – but it wasn’t. She could sense how upset he was, his voice full of emotions and that made Sophie feel more guilty than ever. “You know what –” She mumbled, pulling back to look over at him. “Screw what I said. Let’s have a baby now.” Moving closer to press a sweet kiss on his lips, the brunette smiled slightly before quickly pushing him down against the bed and crawling on top of him. “And just so you know.. I’m not going to be on diaper duty alone.”
He pulled back enough to look down at her and smile. He started chuckling as she crawled on top of him. “Soph come on, stop that. It’s okay. Seriously. We’re not doing this just because you want to make me happy. I want to make you just as happy as you make me, so we both have to really really want this.” He smiled, kissing her quickly and sitting up with her in his arms. “Don’t worry, I know the dad is supposed to be on diaper duty at all times. You won’t have to worry, though I may need one of those pegs for my nose to keep the smell out.”
“I had something in mind.. maybe that would work a little better you know? Like.. how about we try once my Fall Semester is over? That way if it happens, I won’t be too far into pregnancy when I Graduate. Less stress for both of us..” Sophie told him, trying to meet somewhere in between with him – her mind thinking of how much stress she’d have to go through with the exams and projects to come. “Hey, listen to me. It’s going to happen. I’ll stop using the pill and we don’t have to use condoms. Sooner or later..” Her voice trailed off, sighing against the sigh of his neck. “But I am really not hungry. Don’t make me eat out of guilt..”
“Soph.. hey, no, it’s okay. School comes first. Finish your degree and your studies and we’ll see where we’re at once that’s done. If I could wait so many years for you, I can wait a couple more for this.” He told her, offering her a small smile before pressing a kiss to her forehead again. “Don’t go off the pill Soph, ignore this conversation if you need to, it’s okay. It’s okay.” He repeated, eyes staring over her head and at the blank wall behind her. “I’m not going to make you eat. We can just go for a walk.”
“I’m fine.” She said, before she’d actually checked herself over. She didn’t want anything to actually be wrong with her, so she willed it away. She’d do an inspection later when she didn’t have an audience for her ego to die on. “I just feel like the biggest loser in the world right now, but that’s okay.” She sighed, taking her phone from him, seeing the screen trashed, she blinked a few times in quick progression to stop the threatening tears. “Thank you.”
Nate continued to look over the woman, wanting to make sure she wasn’t bleeding from anywhere and no bone was sticking out where it shouldn’t be. “Good to hear. You didn’t hit your head on the ground did you? Concussions aren’t fun.” Nate muttered as he chewed on his lower lip, he knew from experience concussions weren’t fun. “Oh don’t feel like a loser. I’m more than sure at least everyone has done it once in their lives, including me.” He spoke smiling kindly down at her. “Is your phone alright?” He asked curiously hoping it hadn’t been too badly beaten up.
Sophie sighed heavily, rolling over her side to be closer at him. “It’s not that I don’t want a baby. You know better than anyone how much I want to have a family.” She told him, her hand moving to wrap around his large figure. “I’m just scared I guess. I always thought we’d take a step at a time. Get married, go on a honeymoon. Then have a kid. I’m just a year away from Graduating and I’m stressing over stuff.” The girl admitted, her head moving to hide into the crook of his neck. It was rare for Nate to touch that particular subject and it only make her wonder if he was bringing it up because he wanted to have a child now, yet he didn’t know how to tell her. “Can you please eat? Come on, for your bunny?”
“I know you do but you know what I mean. You can want a family but that doesn’t mean you’re ready for one.” He said simply, not hesitating to wrap his own arms around her and hold her close. “Then we’ll take it a step at a time. Blame Ser and her kids, they’re doing this to me.” He chuckled gently, eyes staring into space before taking a deep breath. “I will eat if you eat. You know I hate being the only one to eat.”
Rhys offered him a look that showed pure understanding, almost thankful for the reassurance. “Yeah, thankful for Google maps—” he remarked, laughing to himself. The fact being that he was being deadly serious, Google maps had gotten him around town the first few weeks. “She screams if she doesn’t get her own way. And I tell you, a three year old — she takes after her mother, a good set of lungs on her.” He shook his head almost fondly, teeth grazing his lip. “You get used to it, when you realise they think they have you wrapped around their little finger.” Truth told, Arielle got away with a lot, especially since he shared her time with her mother. “Hey, well thats cool. Theres the uh — that event coming up, isn’t there? Are you going?”
“Those poor people that had to live without Google Maps. Probably just wandered around lost for months.” Nate laughed, scratching at his head. “Screams? Wow, with that angelic face of hers you definitely wouldn’t ever be able to guess she screams. I know what you mean though, I swear kids have the biggest set of lungs on them.” He laughed again as he looked over to his daughter who was happily playing with the two dogs. “I hope I’ll get used to it, might have to come to you for tips when the time comes for me.” He replied with a chuckle, knowing he’d be running around asking all the dads he knew for tips on how to be a good father. “Oh yeah the one near the lake. Yeah I’m thinking about going, hopefully Soph can get away from studying for a bit to come with me. Are you two going?”
Listening to his words, Sophie felt a wave of happiness. This is what she liked the most about Nate, he knew exactly what to say to make her feel better. Knowing that she was doing a good job at making at least someone happy, Sophie tilted her head on the side to look at him. “Breathe.” She said softly, a half smile hanging on her lips as he kept rambling – the subject something serious but coming out from his mouth the cutest way possible. “I don’t mind having a baby. I mean, I always wanted to have a family and the boys are really making me think like I’m missing something I don’t have just yet. But on the other hand.. I don’t want to drop out of college. I have a year left before I graduate. I have no idea if I can study and be cranky at the same time.” Sophie exclaimed, her mind wandering around the possibilities of the future. “We did. Prom night, remember? You guys scared my possible date away and you made me promise you’d be the first one to get cuddled. We were watching Friends. Your memory really sucks.” Running a finger over his cheek, Sophie’s eyes looked into his. “Nathaniel, you are ten time bigger than me. You need more food, so you’re eating.”
Nate sucked in a deep breath as she ordered him to, knowing he was probably getting too worked up over the subject of a family or kids with her. He just couldn’t help but feel a little shy talking to her about it, not really wanting to push her into starting a family if she wasn’t ready but wanting her to know he was serious about the topic. “Yeah Soph I know you wouldn’t mind having one, but there’s a difference between not minding having one and really wanting one.” He pointed out, thinking that maybe he should’ve just let the subject rest because maybe he was inadvertently pushing her into something she may not want. “Your studies come first, you’re right, I’m sorry.” He smiled gently, reaching over to place a soft kiss to her temple. “I’m pretty sure I don’t remember because I had other things on my mind.” He shrugged, knowing that his memory wasn’t the best. “Not eating if you’re not.”
“That’s my job – to keep you out of trouble. That.. and well, to make you happy.” Patting the empty space next to her for him to lay down, Sophie took in a deep breath. “I like kids.. I always wanted a family.. I don’t see why not.. I mean.. if you want to..” The corners of her lips tugged into a small smile at the expression of Nate’s face. “We’ve already agreed on that when I was sixteen, remember?” Sticking her tongue out at him, his question thought about the latest events and the smile soon faded away. Keeping secret from Nate wasn’t something she liked doing at all, but Sophie didn’t have an option right now. “I.. I have a lot in my head. Nothing to worry about though. And.. a walk sounds nice. Really nice. I’m not hungry but we can stop by and you can have a bite.”
“And you do both those jobs oh so well. Especially the happy part.” He replied with a sweet smile in her direction, lying down next to her as she motioned for him to. “Yeah? Yeah. I mean you’re the only person I want a family with and I guess hanging out with Ser and the boys has made me think about it all a lot more. But I don’t want you to feel pressure or pushed into wanting some, I mean I guess just let me know when you’re ready for them? I don’t know what I’m even talking about.” He groaned, scratching at his head and sighing. “We did? I swear I would remember agreeing on something like that.” He laughed rolling onto his side and draping an arm over her. “You study too hard Soph, you need to relax more and stop studying so much or you’ll fry that brain of yours. Well a walk it will be. If you don’t eat, I don’t eat.”
@sodaniels
“Well, that’s a little comforting because I still need someone to make me feel embarrassed half of the time and to remind you that you can’t go around punching people.” Wiggling her nose slightly, Sophie couldn’t help but giggle. He always had a way to make her feel better. “You want a kid.. now? Like.. now? Because I don’t think I’d have a problem with that..” She exclaimed and bit her bottom lip. Did he really mean that or was he just.. messing with her? “You’re always going to get the first cuddles, that’s how it works.” Pushing herself back, Sophie laid down on the bed; eyes looking over at him. “Honestly? My mind’s all over the place.. but it’s okay, I survived. Sadly, I’m out of ideas.. but you can think of something.. you’re better with these stuff.”
“Making you feel embarrassed is his strong suit, I don’t think he could stop if he wanted to. Babe you’re the one that reminds me not to go around punching people, not David.” Nate laughed, sighing happily as he watched her laughing, thankful she seemed to be in a better mood. “What. You wouldn’t? You– d’ya want a kid Soph?” He asked cautiously, not wanting to freak her out with the subject but not wanting to play it off as a joke either since the subject was a serious one to him. “I like that rule. Can we make that a rule for life? No matter what kind of kids, animals or human, we have, I always get first cuddles.” He proposed with a cocked smile. “Soph is everything okay? You’ve been quieter lately. Well we could go for a walk.. without the kids. Some fresh air should be good. We could also stop for some pancakes or something, be rebels and have breakfast for dinner.”
“He does? I’m going to cry, this really ruined my night. Who else is going to make inappropriate stupid comments about my butt now?” Sophie asked, making a dramatic face for him to see. “I can’t handle another dog for now. Maybe a cat, those don’t need walking around – and they like cuddling with you.” She told him, thinking about a kitty running around but having no idea how both of their dogs would react to another animal. “I just sit there.. and not pay attention I guess. You do? That makes me happy. What does my wonderful boyfriend have in mind?”
“Oh I’m sure a girlfriend won’t stop him from making inappropriate comments about your butt. I’m sure things won’t change that much. I’ll still want to punch him and he’ll still be the little shit he is, it’ll just be even more inappropriate now.” Nate laughed, kissing the tip of her nose quickly. “I’ll be happy with a cat. I’d be happy with a kid too you know.” Nate teased, though a part of him being serious. The more he hung out with Ser and her kids the more he wished he had some of his own. “But hey, if we get a cat, promise me you won’t only be cuddling the cat. I still need you to cuddle me.” He spoke, looking at her seriously before frowning. “That sounds.. really boring? How did you spend all day doing that? Well it makes me happy that it makes you happy. I don’t have anything in mind. You can decide as long as I spend all my time with you.”
“All the stress must be gone and you should enjoy your time out of practice together. Bonding with them is nice, they’re all amazing. Even David.” She told him, her whole body relaxing into his arms slowly. What would she do without him, she had no idea. “I don’t know about my kid, but Dexter is seriously hiding when I tell him it’s time to go for a walk. I think we scared them.” A small smile formed on her lips, nuzzling her face against the side of Nate’s neck. “No.. not really. I wasn’t paying that much of attention. Anyways.. are you tired? Hungry? Should I make you something?”
“We’re a pretty close team compared to others, it’s why we do so well. Lucky for him, David wasn’t there tonight. Apparently he has a girlfriend now. Do you feel betrayed?” Nate laughed, pulling back slightly to smile down at her. “Maybe we should get another dog to take on walks while these two recover?” He teased, giving her a small nudge. “You were watching but not watching TV? How does that work? I’m not tired or hungry. I am however in much need of a big dose of you. I feel like we rarely see each other other than when one of us is asleep.”
