CHRIS EVANS AVENGERS: ENDGAME (2019)
Voicemail -> Vero: Hey Vero, it’s me. It’s early and you’re probably getting a handfull or phonecalls but I know how much your heart must be hurting right now and I want you to know I love you. I’d you’re on your way here like I expect you are know that I’m here for a hug if you want one. I love you and I’m sorry that this happened. Vinnie was a good guy, a goofy one but a good one. He didn’t deserve to suffer and neither do you. If you need /anything/, /anything/ at all I’m here........and Vero I love you.
I know Diane was Hard. I know she was angry…Diane didn’t always thinks things through.
How many days had it been since Veronika had locked herself away in her office? Her mind was still reeling from everything that had transpired at Lara’s birthday celebration, if it could even be called that.
An untouched bottle of beer sat on the desk. Veronika sat, a photograph of her and her mother gripped tightly in her hand. Somehow she’d convinced herself that if she stared at it long enough, maybe some kind of answer would magically pop into her brain. What would Alessia do? It was the only question Ronnie had been asking herself since she’d gotten home after the fight.
A knock at the door drew her attention, Ronnie half tempted to ignore it. Instead, she placed the photograph back in its place on her desk, grabbing the beer bottle and taking a giant swig as she walked over towards the door. Opening it slowly, Ronnie’s chest heaved a giant sigh.
“Can I help you?”
The news of what had occurred in Porto had found its way to Launceston very quickly leaving the detective with no choice but to go and see Angelo. Fear of Veronika's safety was imminent and since losing Alessa, Nathaniel hadn't wanted to take any chances.
The Italian loyalist bid his family goodbye and did the one thing he knew he could do to help fix the situation. He went to go see the young woman he not only loved and respected but considered family.
"Sorella, I think the better question to that is what can I do to help you," Nate said as he let himself into the room. He had been watching her for about five minutes. She had been so focused on what he had made out to be a picture of her mother. "In my experience, you can't will a photo to talk to you. I've tried quite a few times. Come here, kid."
Nate said as he opened his arms welcoming for her to come hug him. He couldn't fix all of her problems but he damn well would try.

A Loyal Man. || Drabble
Alessia Auditore confirmed dead.
The announcement from TMI was still on his phone weeks later. There was something about it that made it so the Italian loyalist was unable to delete it. It wasn't just confirmation that Alessia Auditore was dead but that her life was taken. The other Detectives in Launceston PD seemed to be happy about it but it unsettled Nathaniel Zampella in ways he couldn't find the words to say. If Alessia Auditore could be killed then nobody was safe.
There had been no doubt in his mind about the decision that had been brought to the table by Angelo Morello.
Nathaniel Zampella stood on the porch of his Launceston house a black duffle bag and a set of luggage ready to be loaded into the car. Nate turned on his heels and took a step towards the raven haired woman with two children on her hips.
"So you'll take the next flight out with the kids. I'll get the house all settled and be ready for the three of you to arrive. I'll pick you up from the airport tomorrow night." Nate closed the space between them placing a kiss on both of his children's head before cupping Gracie's face. "I love you. You know that right? I know this decision wasn't easy for either one of us but it's important. Not only for Angelo but for her. She needs us."
Gracie Mancini offered Nate one of her famous smiles. There was no doubt that the man standing before her was a good man. An honest man and that was why she loved him. Why the decision to follow him had been easier. Never would leaving her home, her life, be easy but with Nathaniel it wasn't as heartbreaking.
"You're going to miss your flight, Detective Zampella. Now hurry up and kiss me so I can go finish packing."
Nate laughed took Katie from Gracie's hip and pulled her closer wrapping his arms around his family. Giving her one last kiss on her forehead before stepping back and grabbing a hold of his bags.
Six hours later he was stepping off a flight from Launceston to Porto Velho.
Nathaniel Zampella's black SUV weaved through the downtown streets of Porto Velho. A phone call or two later and he leaned forward and struck the blue lights of the SUV signaling the car in front of him to pull over. The man stepped up out of the driver side door letting it close beside him as he started towards the driver's door just as the tinted window started to roll down. Nathaniel Zampella leaned down into the window.
"Mrs. Auditore, my name is Detective Zampella I'm with the Porto Velho Police and I'm going to need you to step out of the car."
D.W.C || DRABBLE
They said he was born with a fire in his heart and a storm brewing in his soul. Yet he seemed to love those around him unconditionally.
Maybe that was why Launceston had been able to take so much from him.
Nathaniel Zampella took a knee on his sidewalk the young girl in the pink flowered dress ran down the steps and beelined in his direction. Nate’s hand lifted her into his arms before spinning her in a circle. Katie’s laugh made the smile on his face grow wider as leaned in to whisper in his ear.
“She looks beauty, daddy!"
As if on cue Gracie Mancini stepped out of the front door and onto their front porch. With Dominic on her hip, she paused a moment to reach down and lift the white dress off the ground.
"You know this is bad luck right? Us driving to the church together. You seeing me in this dress. It’s all bad luck.”
Nate took a step towards her holding his out for her to take as support.
“Good thing I stopped believing in bad luck when you came into my life.” He winked before pulling her and Dominic into his chest. He held them all a moment in his arms where they were safe and his family whole. He had never imagined this would be how his life turned out but suddenly here he was the happiest he could ever imagine.
Between the two of them, they had face trial and tribulation but had somehow managed to come out stronger together. Gracie had become Nate’s rock and he had become hers when all the baking in the world couldn’t mend her broken heart.
“We’re going to be late.” She laughed as she took a step back from him.
“Not that late, Angelo hasn’t called to yell at me yet.” He smirked before nodding towards the car. Katie was already there standing at her side. Her small feet bouncing along with the song from Beauty and The Beast that she was singing. Within moments, Gracie was singing along with her as she loaded them both into the car.
“Shit,” Gracie whispered softly under her breath. Low enough that only Nate had heard her as he climbed into the driver seat. “I forgot my purse."
"I’ll get it.” Nate leaned over the driver seat and pressed a kiss to Gracie’s lips. “And here I was worried about forgetting the rings.”
The unamused look on Gracie’s face caused Nate to laugh as he slipped out of the car and jogged up the cement driveway towards the front door. The Mancini loyalist let himself back into the house and up the stairs to his and Gracie’s room. A laugh passed his lips as his eyes set on the white clutch that lay on their bed. Taking it in his hands he started back towards the stairs. He had just reached the top when his cellphone started to ring.
“Angelo…I know.I know! We’re coming,” Nate assured as he hurried down the steps to the front door. He paused a moment. “I still haven’t told her that I paid off those guards to let Salvatore out to walk her down the aisle.”
At the sight of Nate coming towards the driveway, Gracie leaned over in the passenger seat to start the car. The explosion sent him flying backward. The in his hands falling to the ground as his head bounced off the pavement rendering him unconscious for a few minutes. Slowly he rose. head spinning. Blood coming from his ears.
There was glass, smoke, flames. Lots and lots of flames. As if he was watching from the outside it all started to piece itself together.
They’re inside.
The realization sent Nathaniel to his feet and towards the car. Where there were no screams for help. The only screams that were heard were his own as he desperately tried to get inside the car. A strong hand gripped a hold of his shoulder and attempted to pull him backward. Nate fought against them as he tried to move back to the car. They were all inside.
Gracie.
Katie.
Dominic.
All of them. They were inside the car and Nate had to get to them.
“There’s still a chance.” He cried in desperation as the sirens boomed down the street. His neighbor shook his head the words ‘they’re gone’ leaving his lips. Nathaniel shook his head turning quickly he punched the man in the face sending him to the ground before attempting to enter the car once more. He hadn’t seen the black SUV barreling past the emergency personnel. Hadn’t seen as it made an abrupt stop at the curb.
“Nathaniel,” It was the voice of Salvatore Mancini that had halted him in his steps causing his heart to skip a beat. The man was a father figure to him and he had let him down.
A firefighter pushed him out of the way as they quickly got to work. Nate stumbled towards Salvatore who hadn’t even needed to ask the question. The look of devastation on Nathaniel’s face was clear.
His daughter was in there.
“They’re gone.” Was all Nathaniel Zampella could muster as he walked past Salvatore Mancini. What was he expected to say? He was sorry? He had failed? They were both true, but he hadn’t felt any of those things in that moment. Nathaniel Zampella felt nothing. Angelo reached out to grab a hold of him but he roughly pulled away.
Salvatore Mancini had lost his daughter.
Nathaniel Zampella had lost his everything.
Launceston had taken everything from him.

natexzampella :
I leave you alone for a few minutes to grab your six bags. Six. One of which was just baking supplies…know how I know… it busted open while I was trying to get into the lobby. Gracie, you do know we aren’t staying that long right?
Nate, it’s an entire week. Do you have any idea how much baking I can do in a week? Do you know how much baking I’ve actually done in a week? Now, how is the baking supplies? Did they survive the fall? Should I buy replacements while I’m here?
Dio. I know how much baking you can do in one day. Let alone a week! Need I remind you that we live together. The baking supplies is good. Scouts honor. After we check in where do you want to head first? Better yet where are we getting food? I’m starved.
natexzampella:
“Phew. We got a live one here. Wait…didn’t you die?”
“Nah. I definitely got close enough that I could’ve said hello to all of your lady friends, though.”
“Not all."
natexzampella :
“Would it help if I threw a croissant?”
“No more than it would help if I threw another wife at you.”
“I actually have a gluten allergy, so…”
“I’m almost proud of you for that. You think that’s the first time I’ve heard such a line. The Irish have have said wittier things. "
“Now that’s the face of someone who can stand in front of me all day. How’s it going stranger?”
“Much better, now that you’re here.”
“God, I’ve missed you. How have you been? How are the kids?”
“I’ve been good! Great, actually. Things are going really well and I…we couldn’t be happier. The kids are amazing, growing. Katie misses you and your tea parties by the way. They’re currently visiting Jess or else they’d be here. How are things here? What’s been going on? I want to know it all!”
natexzampella:
“I could be wrong but I’m betting your father wasn’t a glass maker. So, why don’t you take a few steps to the side.”
“Well, you can absolutely fuck all the way off.”
“Phew. We got a live one here. Wait...didn't you die?”
“I could be wrong but I’m betting your father wasn’t a glass maker. So, why don’t you take a few steps to the side.”
“Huh…was that supposed to make me move or something?”
“Would it help if I threw a croissant?”
“I could be wrong but I’m betting your father wasn’t a glass maker. So, why don’t you take a few steps to the side.”
… that definitely wasn’t his occupation. But I think everyone knows that already, don’t they?
“Now that’s the face of someone who can stand in front of me all day. How’s it going stranger?”
“I could be wrong but I’m betting your father wasn’t a glass maker. So, why don’t you take a few steps to the side.”
So I guess Cávado is Porto’s Ainsburg?
Not that I want to sound like I just walked out of Ainsburg but what is Cávado?
