â...No, that doesnât make any sense.â

Isak nodded in understandment. âI see.â he said. âIs there a way you could find out?â he asked him while looking at the young boy. âAnd most importantly, is there a way the spell could be reversed? Or am I free to live my life as I once did?â he wondered, it being the main question he had.
Nathan tilted his head slightly as he considered, cataloging similar magic heâd encountered, but in the end he was forced to shrug. âI could try, but I canât make any promises. Just knowing the spell exists doesnât tell me much about it. Is there anything else you can tell me? Even if it seems like useless information, it might help,â he asked, already running possibilities and materials heâd need over in his head. âI can you that more than likely it could be reversed,â Nathan offered, knowing that Isak wouldnât enjoy that news. âMagic like this...it needs a lot of power because itâs forcing something to behave against the natural order. Itâs a lot easier to return things to the way they should be, though youâd need enough power to break the spell,â he explained, trying to give it in terms someone unfamiliar with magic might understand. Not quite sure he trusted Isak, Nathan left out that it would take an understanding of the spell to be able to break it. That wasnât information he wanted Isak to be thinking about while Nathan was studying how the spell worked.

As Nathan showed a slight smile Isak relaxed a bit. He knew what was inside his heart or rather what was missing from it and the fact that the warlock reacted on something so dark in a positive manner only made him feel more drawn to him. âYouâre right.â he said. âI know the identity of one warlock.â he told Nathan. âMy sister has kept the other one a secret from me. Is that something you can sense my touch? Or would that take more?â he wondered.
Nathan nodded, his curiosity only growing as Isak continued to talk. He wanted to know more, as far as he was aware Isak was something completely unique. A marvel of magic unlike anything Nathan had seen before. âNo,â Nathan shook his head, a hint of regret in his tone. âI can feel the spell, and itâs too strong to be just one warlock. No matter how powerful they were,â he explained, sure Isak didnât know much about magic. âOtherwise, I canât tell much from just a touch. A feeling, but nothing specific enough to tell you anything you donât already know.â

Isak gave a short nod, pleased with the reaction of the young warlock. The boy even seemed to have a certain excitement about the whole thing. He watch his extended hand and then slowly but surely put his own in his. He could feel something the moment their skin connected, it was hard to describe the feeling and he wondered if Nathan felt it too. He watched his face intensely, to make sure he wouldnât iss a single expression or emotion that could tell him anything. âAnd?â he asked, curious to what such a short interaction would tell the warlock.
The rush off magic across his skin when their hands touched was familiar, and Nathan let himself smile. He could tell a lot about Isak just from the touch, his own magic prodding curiously back. There was something dark, an aura of death stronger than the one normally surrounding vampires, though Nathan wasnât sure he would have noticed if he hadnât known to look for it. Isak certainly wasnât lying, Nathan had no doubt now that he had been brought back, somehow. He drew his hand back slowly, frowning a little in contemplation. âI could feel the spell. Powerful magic, this was more than one person, wasnât it?â

âI was in need of a..âspecialâ warlock.â he said descretely, meaning one that was interested in dark magic. âI need someone to examine me so to say. Iâm the result of a spell and I need to know how save I am for the time being.â he told Nathan. âIâm actually not supposed to be here, if you understand what I mean.â
Nathanâs expression didnât change for the moment, waiting for Isak to finish before he let himself react to the request. His mind was already whirling with the possibilities, all the more intrigued as Isak continued to speak. âI think so. And itâs an interesting position to be in, I understand why youâd want to talk to me,â he nodded, trying to keep the sheer glee out of his voice. If what Isak said was true and he was from beyond death, then he would be the result of some utterly fascinating magic. Smiling, Nathan held out his hand to Isak. âMay I?â He requested, knowing he could get much more information from touch than just looking.

âRight.â Isak agreed, very interested in this man. He hoped the rumors about him were true and that he had the right person. One of the benefits of being such an old vampire as he was that he could sense and tell certain supernaturals apart. Plus, he had been actively looking for this, apparently pretty, boy. âSo do you wish to adress the elephant in the room?â he offered. Assuming that since he was a warlock he would probably have a certain sense of what Isak was too.
âI would love to know what you wanted to see me about. Normally when someone tracks me down, itâs for a reason,â Nathan agreed, taking a sip from his own cup as he watched the other vampire.

âYouâre not wrong.â Isak answered while sipping his coffee and taking in the charming young man in front of him. âI thought New Yorkers werenât the generous kind.â
âNot normally, but whatâs a coffee between friends, right? Plus, Iâve always been the curious type.â

âThank you, I appreciate that.â Isak said polite while taking the just offered coffee. He briefly smelled it as if he were checking it for vervain before taking his first sip.
âNo problem. You look like you could use one.â
âCouldnât be happier.â Oliver smirked after watching the whole scene play out, eyes lingering over the body as he just leaned back on the side of the pool. âI told you you would like it. Itâs fucking hot. And itâs only going to keep getting hotter.â He hinted at him back, lips curling.
âAt least someone is,â Nathan joked, rolling his eyes for dramatic effect, though a small smirk played at the corner of his lips. âHopefully. Though, I think youâre going to miss most of the heat. Someone has to watch the kids.â
âYouâre loss I suppose. And donât worry. Iâve got my fair share of fights to pick with people.â
âIs that so? Let me know when, sounds like quite the show.â
She shook her head, âWhen has that stopped me from having fun at a party?â she scoffed. She knew that she was underage, everyone would remind her at every chance they got. As he watched him get a drink for her she smirked at him, âMy brother thinks that Kaden is doing the right thing and wants to help her. I told him that I wanted no part of it, and of course were a house divided now.â she said as she took a drink.
âYour brother is an idiot sometimes,â Nathan told her plainly, rolling his eyes as he took a rip from his own bottle. âAnd what do you think, is Kingsman the right of way? Or would you rather the person chosen to represent us knows something about magic, and didnât train their entire life to murder us.â
âBeen there, done that, got the t-shirt. Seriously, is that all you warlock boys care about, throwing a few punches and leaving a few marks. Reallyâ you oughta be ashamed. If youâre really trying to start a fight, youâve got to break a few bones.â
âNot all of us heal that quickly! Maybe that means itâs your turn to start a fight, every party needs a little bloodshed.â
âNo particular reason. Just that I like to have fun, and what better way to achieve that than throwing a party?âÂ
âAre you sure you werenât just trying to stir up a fight? I did see the Kingsmans here, after all.â
đ» do you believe in ghosts and why?
âSure. Though I think it would take some pretty powerful magic to make them strong enough to interact with.â
She shrugged, âI donât even know but I honestly need a drink.â she said as she looked back at him. âIâve been better, fighting with my brother doesnât help either.â she shrugged once more.
âArenât you under age?â He remarked, entirely teasing. Glancing around, he caught sight of a cooler of drinks sitting open, and with a grin and an small tossing motion, a bottle squirmed itâs way free of the ice, then arced as though tossed over a half dozen heads to land in Nathanâs hand. He turned to hand it to Isabel with a smirk, a little too pleased with himself. âWhat is it now?âÂ
âLook, itâs fucking hot, and anybody who claims otherwise is lying. Now get your ass in here, and enjoy a drink in the cool of the pool.â
âWell, since you asked so nicely,â Nathan rolled his eyes, setting is drink down mid air to pull off his shirt, leaving it on a chair before retrieving his drink. He jumped into the water beside Oliver, ducking his head into the water, the sudden cold bracing but pleasantly so on the hot day. âThere, are you happy now?â He asked, wiping water out of his eyes.
âYou donât have to I was just making an observation. Jeez, Nathan. I missed you where have you been? And I donât know maybe in a bit, still trying to see if I can avoid my brother longer.â
âSorry, busy few weeks,â he apologized with a smile. âIs he here?â Nathan asked with a laugh, raising his head to glance around. âHow have you been?â
