ok help me out here. i [male] was talking to a woman i know in my friend group when we went out for food in the evening. i dont think either of us were actively flirting. i cant even remember all the steps that led to this point, it was nothing sexual nor did i proposition her, but eventually she said "im not having sex with you." to which I responded that she couldnt have sex with me even if she wanted to. well she didn't like hearing that, called me rude, and left the hangout at the restaurant. the rest of the group agrees that i am in the wrong and i really don't see why? either neither one of us were planning on having sex with each other, and therefore no one should have been offended. or she had the idea of holding herself/sexuality over me and that telling me she wasnt gonna fuck me was supposed to either make me feel bad, or something to manipulate me in the way she wanted. if that's true, then i think it's fair to play that right back to her. am i too literal-minded or autistic? again nothing at all was flirting and if it was flirting, telling me you arent gonna fuck me seems counterproductive? in a non sexual way if i give another guy shit, im not gonna get mad if he comes back with something. if it's even better or meaner or funnier, that's actually great and unless we already hate each other and are actually trying to insult each other, that's a fun bonding experience.

i just legitimately don't get why im in the wrong unless from a woman's perspective it applies differently. do you have any feedback or advice? is this like a gender version of certain racial terms where there is an unequal weighting? im looking to not piss people off as much as i can help it

probably they just like her better than you so they sided with her. try to laugh it off, probably the lighter you take it the chiller it’ll be. if it comes up just play dumb and be like what’s the big deal i thought we were joking around.
