Who is "Null" and Why Do so Many People Follow Him?
An article featured in the popular Lunoran educational magazine "What in the Who?!"
There's been a growing question amongst our reader base, filling up our inboxes... Who is "Null"?
Well firstly, "Null" is the Late God of Order, the big guy who would rule over the lands of Leineen. "Null" was a God big on the status quo and complete and stasis, forcing his citizens to never change.
For example, imagine Lenton Berry* cake is your favorite dessert and deciding one day that you don't like lenton berry cake as much anymore and now cheesecake is your new favorite dessert. Then your God shows up and forces you to keep your favorite dessert as lenton berry cake. That is essentially what "Null" did with everyone who followed him.
From an outsider looking in it sounds a bit strange but honestly, I can empathize with his followers, they must be all people who struggle with change and find the idea of "Null's" eternal stagnation comforting and supportive. This isn't a very good way to cope though... Well what do I know, I only have a PHD in Mithan Theology* so I've decided to broaden my horizons and interview an expert in in the field! Doctor of "Null" Theology, Jelita Flion!
Fleen: Our readers are eager to know, who is, the Late God of order, "Null"?
Dr Flion: Well "Null" was the God of order, he ruled over Leineen with an iron fist in the hopes of keeping the nation stagnant, for eternity.
Fleen: Dr Flion, can you propose any reasons why "Null" would do such a thing?
Dr Flion: Well many people speculate that "Null" was once a mortal, just like you and many, there are several pieces of evidence supporting this conclusion, including several authentic artifacts found in Fetta, believed to be from "Null's" birth village.
Fleen: Here's a question from one of our readers: "Why do we always have to write "Null's" name in quotes?"
Dr Flion: Well I'm happy to answer that question, simply put, "Null's" name is cursed. Only true followers are able to even utter his name. Using quotes around "Null's" name is a nice way to circumvent this curse.
Fleen: Last Question, Why did you decide to study "Null" Theology? What interested you into pursuing such a career?
Dr Flion: Well, "Null" and his secrets are kept tight under wraps by the Followers of "Null", I've always been curious as an ex-follower myself. Despite not agreeing with the values and virtues upheld by "Null", I've always been fascinated by the how little we know about him. Thus leading me on my journey to study "Null" theology as my career.
Fleen: Well, Thank you for joining us Dr Flion, it was a fun time learning a lot more about "Null" and his followers, not only for our readers but for me as well!
Dr Flion: Well thank you for having me, Dr Fleen and the all the staff behind "What in the Who?!" I had a blast answering all your questions and I truly hope I get to come here and chat again!
Well know you know more about "Null" and his folllows, I hope you all continue to stay curious!
*Lenton Berry, a popular flavor within Lunora and Brovanoy. The berry is described as tart and sour with a sweet after taste. The surface of the fruit is described as fleshy and full of juice. The berry is derived from a common shrub called the Lenton Bush.
*The study of "Mi" theology. The more popular theological study option amongst scholars.
This was a very fun piece to write, I love trying to figure out how media in all the nations would look and sound like. I tried to make this article feel very "cool" (considering the magazines main demographic) it was a blast to write! Thank you all for reading! - K
