A tweeter said something yesterday to the effect of "it's almost too late! Nats aren't playing well and the Barves are unstoppable". That struck me as about exactly the opposite of what you should take away. Look at how many things have gone well for them. (Hint: look at their pitchers) Look at how few things have gone right for us. (Hint: look at games played for the projected lineup). It isn't just that the Barves are playing with a horseshoe up their ass. They're throwing one right at our nuts. Bullseye! Ow! And after all that, they're up what? Four? Maybe five? All good teams have torrid stretches. We just don't notice those 17-7 runs when they start on June 21. Given that, the Nats treading water and being this close strikes me as an amazingly good thing.
