strawbelina:
The time had passed, the sun had almost disappeared and the young woman had packed her belongings and was heading back to her family’s Summer villa. Privileged to have been born in such a family Adalina had no reason to search for another destination for her vacation. She had grown up here and it held a special place in her heart as well. Once at home and comfortable in her bathtub she could spend some time on her cellphone before continuing her book.
[SMS]: Hard to not miss you when this whole season has your name. [SMS]:You don’t sound like you missed me tho ( ̄ ^ ̄) . And here you had a chance of spending some days away from town, but you just lost it.
“Ah, I’m really an asshole aren’t I?” He mutters to himself. As much as he’d enjoy a couple of days in her company he’s getting worried of being too attached so quickly, Natsu knows how boring he really is, after all. Not to mention his constant excuses and how disgustingly transparent he’s become.
[SMS] >>> Lina: whaaaat? you really wanna spend all that time with me? i’m so flattered ♥ [SMS] >>> Lina: but i’ve got work and with me getting a bit of a promotion i’ll be just as busy! [SMS] >>> Lina: let’s meet up when you get back k?
At least he didn’t lie to her. Considering how he’s had to hold off on making any covers and even rarely having the time to enjoy music, the blond has seen himself going back to his smoking habit more and more as of late.
spiritpyro:
“…Lonely,” he repeated, snorting to himself. “Loneliness is fun. I could just text you instead of calling? Would that be alright?” Hayate pocketed the card, listening closely to his words. “You’d want to work here? Wouldn’t that be boring for you?” The pose makes him smirk, amused by such a small action. Natsu sure is quite the character. “Florist, huh. Never heard of Tsubaki. I might be interested. Although… I should probably stop getting jobs out of boredom; surprisingly this one isn’t bad because there’s rarely people here.”
He beckoned Natsu to the front desk to get him checked out. “That’s fine. I’m not all that interesting. You’re probably more unique than I am, Natsu. Besides.” Stepping behind the desk to sit down in the chair, typing something up on the computer. “I think being a florist is cool. You get to learn about flowers and their languages, right? Maybe I’ll stop by. Get a couple of pansies or whatever.”
“Of course you can text me.” There's a slight spring in his step as he follows, a soft hum as he straightens his clothes. “Boring? You don’t know that,” he pouts a bit, “Besides, the quiet makes it pretty relaxing. I wouldn’t mind sorting and documenting books since they don’t die so quickly after all, I swear every time I make a piece there’s always a late client and it withers away.” He eyes Hayate’s hands more in curiosity of what he’s typing since he can’t see the monitor, always the nosy one.
“Hm, I probably am but really I’m an average person. And it’s not all that great being a florist either. I got my fair share of the same ‘wanting to know the language of love’ types, but some pansies, huh? Coming from the french word ‘to think’ a flower meant to share remembrance or maybe nostalgia? They’re one of my favourites.”
Summer
Under the shade of a tree, Lina was in a daze. Half-closed eyelids staring at the trembling leaves while her mind was dancing around her memories. Natsu was coming up a lot in them, something that made her cheeks puff. Last time they had contacted each other was a few months ago and none of them had reciprocated a meet up. With heavy fingers she picked up her cellphone, typed
txt [Are you okay?]
quickly pressed the send button and dropped the device on the orange polka dot table cloth that she has been laying on, before turning to her side to drift in a light dream. / @natsumay
Between moving into a new apartment, taking up a higher position at work and overall life, it’s not a wonder he’s practically dropped off the face of the earth. That’s who Natsu was. The kind to leave you on read for long time before sending a text back as if no time had passed. So when his phone beeped he wasn’t too bothered on who messaged him at first, even leaving it there until all his chores were finished; although there was immediate regret when he saw the sender.
[SMS] >>> Lina: hey! yeah i’m totally great :) [SMS] >>> Lina: did you miss me that much? sorry i’m always so busy ♥
bclasaeg:
// Yuu plastered on a relieved expression that he wasn’t alone in being clumsy. Perhaps that was truly the case or perhaps he didn’t even care about plants in general. It was good he didn’t own a pet or he might’ve forgotten all about it as well.
“ That will really save me. Thank you very much.” He bowed his head again. “Would you like my account details so you can bill me an invoice or something when it is done? Or do I have to come pick it up here? ” If it was up to him, he would rather invite him over so he could treat Natsu to a meal or something.
Natsu nods and takes a seat on the counter’s stool, pulling out a separate book with empty spots. “This is what we can do, we can bill the invoice to you but before that we need to decide how many of these you would like. After that, we ask that you come in to see a demo of the piece and if you’re happy with it, you will be billed accordingly and we can deliver if that’s easier for you.”
He takes a pen and slides the book towards the other. “For now, just your name and phone number is needed. I’ll fill in what your order is and if you’re okay to come in tomorrow it should be done. Honestly it’s been so slow that I can get it done for then. ...A-Ah, I mean, if that’s okay with you.”
spiritpyro:
“We only call if you didn’t return your book. It’s mandatory. And I hate talking on the phone, so please don’t make me call you, Natsu.” He’s joking of course – but talking to strangers seemed like a chore. Trying to understand why they have an overdue library book. This has to be one of the most ass backwards job he has ever had. Not that he’s complaining though. “Other than that… we don’t really do much?” It’s pretty dead in here. As far as Hayate knows he’s… the only person working here other than two other people.
He looks over at the business card being held out towards him. “I see,” hand raised up to take the card out of Natsu’s hand. “What type of work do you do? If you don’t mind me asking.”
He couldn't help but laugh at that bit. “Awwe, don’t say it like that. I get lonely pretty often so don’t hesitate to call me,” he jokes in retaliation although his days lately are becoming more and more dull. And he’s usually alone in the store. “Maybe if I need a part-time I’ll come by. If.” Natsu strikes a slight pose when asked the question as he takes quite a lot of pride in his work. “Among other things I am a full-time florist at Tsubaki, named after the lovely owner and cat babysitter. She’s totally the best and if you’re ever interested we’re always looking for part-timers.” Though his complaints about working are many, the blond genuinely cherishes how he speaks about his boss and appreciates all the work she does for her age.
“Aside from that, nothing else I do is particularly interesting, so forgive me for being rather boring, Hayate.” Even so, Natsu is trying his best not to be a pain in the ass considering he already needed help with his choice in literature.
tximidity:
“No–no worries.” Natsu’s enthusiasm would forever catch him off guard. Touch had never had a positive connotation growing up; nowadays he had to remind himself not to panic when he was so suddenly grabbed. His hands taken, fingers curled away for a millisecond before relaxing, nerves soothed by the genuine excitement displayed. It was a little flustering to think it was that exciting to see him–part of Sullivan doubted it was only for his presence. For composure’s sake, the was clearing his throat before speaking again. “I, um, work night shifts and only return in the morning. So you won’t be disturbing me. It is really nice to know a familiar face will be my neighbor though!”
“I have a few hours before I leave for work, s-so we can share a meal if you’d like. I can help you unpack if you need too.” Tiny feet still pattered on the old wooden porch, Sullivan’s eyes watching the departure of the cat before he brought his eyes back over to his friend. Things…Sullivan’s brows cluelessly scrunched. “Things? Here?”
Brushing his own hair out of his face, Natsu flashed another smile. At least the chance of his cat not being as lonely during his time away from home was something he no longer worried for, it was just at night. “Fair enough. I work during the days so he shouldn’t be too worried. ...But I do work some nights so I suppose might see each other on the way out or in.” Now that he’s moved there’s less chance of some uneasy clients or fans following him home. “Oh, no thanks! I can handle everything by myself, I guess you could say I’m a bit picky in how I handle my stuff.”
Funnily enough, Natsu has some enjoyment in keeping his utaite lifestyle a secret but due to all this moving he’s had less time to work n that hobby. He brings up a hand to his face and leans in slightly closer, “Yeah. Those raccoons digging in the trash. I swear they were waiting for me like a bunch of thugs. But no matter! How about I take you out to dinner, my treat.”
“Oh! Please don’t stop on my account ~.” Xime shimmied her shoulders.
“You sound good… that’s why I turned it down, sugarbee.”
She shifted in her seat until she found a comfortable position where she could still face her neighbor while she lounged.
Like a modern Renaissance painting.
“Cute kitty.” She pointed, while her other hand gradually brought the volume up again to where they could both enjoy. “What’s his name?”
Realizing they were still perfect strangers, she added, “What’s yours? I’m Ximena.”
“Thanks,” he chuckles, “It’s just a hobby though, nothing more than average.” Downing more than half of his hot coffee, tapping the cigarette butt in the tray, he can get a better look at his neighbour now as he pushes back his blond hair.
He holds up his cat with his free hand much to its annoyance. “This is Gene and my only baby. I’m Natsu, nice to meet you, Ximena. Haven’t seen you before, you just move in?”
spiritpyro:
“No problem,” he’s never one to leave people hanging that are in need. Maybe. But most of the time he just watches them come in here, making an ass of themselves on having a difficult time on finding the right type of books. Today? It’s different. He’s in a good mood; so there’s no reason for him to be mean to patrons. Not to Natsu, at least.
“You color your hair? Huh. I know my way around makeup. Been messing with it for certain things.” For cosplay, he would say, but Natsu doesn’t need to know that. It’s nothing important to him, it’s just something he does on his downtime. “It’s Hayate. You don’t have to be so thankful, I’m just doing my job. If I didn’t, my manager would probably have my ass. These books will help you well. Don’t read them all in one setting; words don’t come immediately to the brain sometimes.” Gazing at the shelves once more to check if there’s another big that he could give… actually, no, these should suffice just fine. “…If we have any more books that come in the store, I’ll be sure to call you about them.”
Natsu nods in acknowledgment a hand coming up to run through his own dyed locks, chances are he wouldn’t be caught dead with his natural hair. Again he’s ever grateful to get any help today or else he could have been rummaging the aisles until closing hours. “Ah, gotcha, thanks Hayate,” he piles them into his basket carefully to make sure none of the pages rip or fold on accident.
“Call me? Libraries do that? Sounds so advanced or maybe I’m just getting old. If that’s the case then chances are I won’t pick up most of the time, it’s a bit unprofessional but here.” Fishing into his pure, the blond pulls out his wallet and from that a simple business card. “It’s a bit far from here but this is where I can be contacted most of the time, but the boss won’t complain if I’m handing these out anyway.”
“Hm. I wonder if I would make a better host or hostess? Maybe both? But then I’d totally tire myself out.”
“Honestly, summer seems to be going too fast and I had just started getting more skirts. Maybe the world just doesn’t like my legs.”
