He does not hesitate in interacting with the pony, running up to her as if she's the most normal thing he's seen. Oh, he's certainly a stranger to the wonders of Equestria, but being at an age where one hopes that ‘Santa Claus’, and ‘fairies’, and all that make believe nonsense is real, he can't help but want to meet her. And, she seems nice, right? Besides, he needs help, and a pair of wings will work just fine!
❝Um, miss, if you don't mind. My hat got stuck in that tree over there, could you get it?❞
Of course the kid had to wear one of those silly propeller hats!

— [ ✪ ] — ❝Hmm-- Hmm--❞ The boy, small and plump that he is, offers an overly curious eye towards the female. If he were older, he would swear that his mind be full of mental cobwebs, yet now, he is just instilled with a heavy helping of déjà vu. He can't for the life of him imagine where he's seen her before ( even if her colouration is completely natural in his world ), just that he has.
And then she has to go ahead and turn around, looking right at him. ❝Oh! Ah! I'm sorry for staring at you! You just look really familiar to me for some reason!❞

.: [ 🐙 ] :. The curly hair above this man’s lips made him look something like a catfish, but no matter the species, if they wore that uniform, that automatically made him an enemy in Octavio’s eyes.
“You… You aligned with Cuttlefish?” Impatience crept beneath his words. No more hiding, no more lies; someone better give him a straight answer for once.
— [ ✪ ] — One does not usually expect to be visually assaulted, not even Oleander. A trip to the supermarket is considerably and suddenly an unpleasant thing, when just before he arrives, his path is crossed by a peculiar individual. He does not wish for pleasantries, but begrudgingly respects the soldierly aspects that reflect the other.
❝The hell is Cuttlefish? I know what a cuttlefish is, sure, but don't know any guy with that name.❞

— [ ✪ ] — There’s a fair number of shady types in this city. Even around the main streets there’s dealers of illegal or counterfeit goods. And when there’s shady goods, there’s shady buyers. Still, he doesn’t expect this strange bodied, young boy ( ??? ) in a trenchcoat to waltz right up to him asking for gems.
❝Excuse me– what? What the hell is a little guy like you going to do with gems?❞ He narrows his eyes, shifting his weight to peer at the small being closely. ❝You ain’t thinking ‘bout doing anything shady, are you? Because, trust me, if you intend to look suspicious– it’s working.❞
“What? No! It’s not like that!” Spike discarded his hilarious disguise, he wasn’t shady! He didn’t need to look the part at all! What would Twilight say? Spike bit on his thumb claw. She’d be so disappointed in him! She’d kick him out!
“Nooo, I’m not doing anything shady! I’m just hungry and you looked like you could part with a ruby or two?”
— [ ✪ ] — A pang of guilt courses through him when the young dragon gives up so easily. If he knew ahead of time that he was speaking to a child instead of someone who is merely -- ahem! -- vertically challenged, he wouldn't have spoken so harshly. Maybe.
❝A ruby or two? Do gems grow on trees where you come from? Boy, I can't remember the last time I've seen a ruby that wasn't attached to a woman's finger.❞ His eyes narrow. ❝Please tell me your diet isn't just gems.❞
— [ ✪ ] — ❝You'll learn soon enough.❞ He twists his empty threat into something somewhat credible if still weak.
As easy as it is for him to manipulate others, Oleander is likewise easy to goad, himself. In his own anger, the shorter male is unable to grasp a good sense of logic. Yet, his strategic mind still formulates plans as well as always. He isn't entirely a lost cause.
❝Isn't that exactly what a high-level demon would say? Make me think you aren't worth my time and then stab me in the back when I'm off fighting other prey.❞
Disgruntled as usual, Oleander refuses to give in to the monster standing before him. He is well aware of the fact that the city's structure can change at the slightest provocation. The city may repair itself and citizenry revive after death, but even so, scars run deep.
❝What makes you think that I'll want to join you in your ‘fun’? What makes you think that I like trouble?❞
✪ ; grudge match
— [ ✪ ] — And he nearly, just nearly sighed in relief. Unnecessary conflict is not high on his list of things to be done that evening, especially with someone who may not be able to fight back. He definitely loves a good fight, but facing off against innocents head on isn’t fun or morally sound.
❝‘Course I wouldn’t mind,❞ he says cheekily, choosing to ignore the insinuation that he isn’t being genuine. If they keep arguing, things will go nowhere, to the point that some legitimately awful individual may pick them both off. Okay, he’s being a little paranoid, but that kind of thinking saves lives! ❝Can’t let people take advantage of others.❞
The irony of the situation is not lost on him.
He didn’t really pay this man much attention. Of course he would accept his offer. One did not turn down a god. More importantly he spied another couple walking down the street. He had spent enough time conversing with this man. He could help him keep innocents safe and do his job at the same time. After all, love can happen anywhere.
He took an arrow from his quiver and notched it into his bow. He took quick aim at the man’s chest and, as always, hit his target. The man grabbed at the suction cupped arrow stuck to him. Though he seemed to be in pain, Eros knew it must have been the pang of love running into him.
The woman let out a scream and turned to run. How many mortals tried to run from their hearts he would never know but she would not escape. Eros costumed Kyoko grudges poured from him and tied her up, preventing her getaway. He took aim and again hit his mark. Another happy ending.
“Very well. Let’s protect those that can’t protect themselves,” he said to the mortal that was standing next to him.
— [ ✪ ] — Predictably, the ‘god’s’ attention does not hold, and to be honest, Oleander prefers it this way. By now he's realised that nothing is quite what it seems, and whether this young female is really defenceless or not, she is still undergoing changes. Much like when he dealt with the inmates at Thorney Towers, it is best to tread lightly and delicately. And the more time his companion spends focused on other things, the greater likelihood there is of his temper being in check.
Groaning inwardly at the arrival of a soon to be very unlucky couple, Oleander takes a few steps back, under the pretense of giving ‘Eros’ space. He's worried about what may happen in the immediate future, though he's briefly seen the effects of the other's work. Nothing screamed of danger, but nonetheless, he stands, ready and attentive.
The humans affected by the ‘power of love’ look a little pained, and definitely bewildered. It isn't until a plethora of ghost-like figures intervene that he nearly breaks his cover of nonchalance. Stay cool, stay cool…
❝Why don't you two turn in for the night. You know how crazy this city can be.❞ He speaks pointedly, considering this an unfortunate lesson learned. Then, he returned focus to his companion. ❝Indeed, but first, I'd like to know what that was. Those ghostly projections. They could be useful in protecting others, not like I need to tell you that.❞

— [ ✪ ] — Something about the opposite individual seemed a little glum about this, but Oleander is pleased to see that he is willing to help without complaint. No questions being asked is exactly how Oleander hopes this situation to go. Gets things done in a quicker fashion, and with no added fuss.
❝Thanks, kid.❞ He responds curtly, but not without appreciation. When he continues to speak, he masks embarrassment in indifferent tones. No need there is, to sound coddling or worried. ❝She’s small and very fluffy. All white, and long floppy ears. She’s smart, so she knows how to stay out of danger.❞
“I’m no kid.” He retorted, but without the typical sarcastic tone the words were associated with.
“I’ll get to looking, then.” he replied curtly, scanning the area for the creature. He’d get an allergic reaction if he found it first, so the Oracle Knight was hoping that the other found him first. If not, then his secret was out. “And as long as she stays out of danger, we’ll find her quick. What’s her name?”
— [ ✪ ] — He's never understood why younger people get offended at being called kids. There's nothing wrong about youth; as experience doesn't necessarily come with age. Of course, the ‘kid’ in question could be immortal; stranger things have happened in Hive City. At first he seems ready to press this question further, but when the ‘kid’ starts his search in earnest, Oleander realises that he cannot be allowed any distractions.
❝Her name's Snowball.❞ He hides any embarrassment over owning a cute and fluffy animal when he searches underneath a parked vehicle. And he decides that now is a good a time as any to reveal his name as well. ❝My name's Morceau Oleander.❞

The zebra was one for exploring, having traversed much of the dangerous forest back home. It wasn’t much different from there, so she felt at ease for the most part in District MU. Though, she hadn’t seen many others wandering around so coming upon a human surprised her and she approached him.
“I was looking for a place, you see. To set up shop inside a tree.” She scraped at the ground with a hoof for a moment before glancing around. “This place is perfect, it reminds me of home. The Everfree Forest was quite overgrown. But why do you come here? Does it also keep your home as near?”
— [ ✪ ] — Mu is one of his favorite locations in the Hive. Sector oo6 is wonderful, but nothing feels most like Whispering Rock than a massive forest filled with nonhuman life. Apparently his sole companion during this trek feels the same way, for he has been wandering for hours and has only noticed the presence of a peculiar zebra. Smaller than what he remembered the creatures to be, and evidently more friendly. More like one of those ponies than a wild beast of the savannah. For better or for worse, he mentally prepares himself to be on the receiving end of unwanted advice.
❝Can't imagine getting much business here. Guess if you don't expect much,❞ he speaks as if that be a simple fact. Some small talk mingled in with his thoughts. ❝But, to answer your question, yeah, it does remind me of home. Can't stand the city, to be honest.❞

GLaDOS watched what appeared to be a human building what also appeared to be a tank. Artificial synapses clicked together, thinking of the immediate ways she could use this contraption, and human, to the best of her abilities. Wouldn’t that be just fun to use in a test?
“A tank? I can only hope it’s at least half functional. If it doesn’t have a weapons system then it’s probably useless. Worthless. Are you worthless too? Or are you capable of much more than just creating ineffectual shells of excrement.” The android thought for a moment, placing a hand to her chin. “What were you going to use this for? Don’t tell me it’s just a recreational vehicle for moving your pathetic human body around this city. That would be a shame.”
— [ ✪ ] — Working on and developing military grade weapons makes for a decent living. It isn't something that he can do often or regularly, and in truth, is a rare moment for him. In fact, it is something to note that he is only in this position because of the fair sum of money being offered to him. It would be almost silly if it weren't for his odd luck with jobs.
❝Can't fire anything yet. You know the so-called scientists who run the place like to keep everything that can kill all locked up tight. Give me proper ammunition and you can bet your ass it works--❞ A little too late he realises that someone has nosed around a place where she doesn't belong. He scrutinizes the woman and slams his palms against the surface of the weapon. This abandoned building was supposed to be, well abandoned. ❝Of course this ain't just for transportation. Have you seen this fuckin’ city? Sure, you could eliminate traffic with this thing, but it ain't quick or efficient. Better off taking the bus if there's someplace you need to be. Now, where the hell did you come from? Don't tell me you've been squatting in here.❞

Before he could even realize, Hozuki’s daily routine in Hive City became very busy. Not as busy as Hell used to be, but still ungodly in comparison with the average resident. His free time was scarce, but he would rather live like this than spend idle days and nights until return home eventually. Honestly, at this point oh his life he didn’t know how to live any other way in any place.
But even a workaholic demon has personal needs, and he was feeling bad for a while due the scattered attention towards Kuro, the Shiba puppy that literally fell in his arms long ago and now was pratically an adult dog.
And with the parlour running well after the first adjusting weeks and the city in peace for a considerably long period, was a perfect moment to have a quality time with the faithful pet in one of the Sector 6 parks.
Many people would do the same, and that was how he caught a glimpse of other pet owner taking care of his own fluffy ball, a rabbit so cute that Hozuki couldn’t just watch from afar.
“Your bunny is really huggable. Congratulations, sir.” He said sincerely to the unknown man, holding Kuro in his arms to prevent any incident.
— [ ✪ ] — Oleander is similarly left in a vastly different yet still blissfully busy situation. While he hasn't yet found a comfortable job ( yet again ) in the Hive, at least he has his belongings right where he wants them, and a pet lovingly returned to his arms. After weeks of working part-time and looking for some higher purpose or whatever, he's decided to dedicate a day just for him and his pet.
Finally in position for a relaxing day, the coach takes his pet with him to the park. With his little rabbit comfortably nestled in his arms, Oleander risks possible embarrassment. He is long past risking something for the sake of his furry friends, instead deciding firmly to put them first.
This is exactly why he's here. The park is nice and comfortable, and somehow cleaner than the rest of the city. Somehow a scene of purity, Oleander supposes it must be the appeal of cleanliness that leads others to torch this sector. Ha, as if burning down an entire sixth of the city is easy.
Thoughts are interrupted as a gentle nip from Snowball brings him to attention. Eyes snap open, not in any aggrieved motion, but warily. A curious, demonic appearing individual with a pet of his own has also decided to make the park his roost.
❝I- well--❞ He is torn between being completely honest about his pet and responding in a completely indifferent manner. Like many pet owners, Oleander is proud of his pet, but finds it a little weakening to speak so honestly about cute, fluffy beasts. Naturally, he chooses a third option. ❝Well, your dog also seems to be quite huggable.❞
“Forgive me…”
“I feel like we’ve met before, once upon a time. Please, tell me your name once more.”
— [ ✪ ] — ❝Believe so, too. Aren't many talking lions running around.❞ Predictably enough, he's only seen the one. He thinks he may have remembered the cat's name, but instead of bringing that up, he simply answers his query. ❝Morceau Oleander.❞

— [ ✪ ] — Well, that didn’t end too badly. Sure, he’s more than a little bloody, but he survived. Much better off than the other guy, in any case. Sure, the encounter wasn’t as smooth as he’d like, but in the end, it’s better than any alternative he’s had in mind.
He’s starting to patch up his wound ( hardly back on his feet after the conflict, really ), when a familiar, though not particularly welcome figure enters his line of sight. The pony isn’t a terrible individual; she’s much preferred to the fellow who thought it wise to shank Oleander, anyway. She has a big mouth, but honestly, as a friendship princess, how much damage could she honestly do?
❝Hello, Twilight.❞ Tiredly he snaps at her. Of course she can’t resist another verbal jab at him, even when his life has been threatened. ❝I’m alive, because I’m damn good at what I do. You should have seen the other guy.❞
Even now, he keeps himself smug. Shooting a glance towards his bag, he continues to address the pony, ❝Yeah, how about you dig my bandages out of my bag. Since you’re kind enough to help.❞
The pony had to stop herself from rolling her eyes. It was hard but she stopped herself since he was injured. Out of everyone here she had to run into him specifically. She couldn’t actually justify the fighting in her head, but honestly people had to do what they had to and she didn’t know the full story anyway.
“Nice to see you too.” She bit back, trying her hardest to stop. “I don’t…think that’s something to be proud of, if I’m being honest. I’m glad you’re alive but you shouldn’t be boasting. I’ve learnt that that generally ends badly for everypony involved.”
Giving a short sigh, she trotted over to the bag, fishing the bandages out with her magic and floating them over to him. “I don’t know why that was so pointed. Kindness is a good element to have, you could probably learn a thing or two about kindness. But that’s not important right now.” But she was definitely picking up on that topic later. “What…happened exactly?”
— [ ✪ ] — ❝Boasting? Hon, if you're calling that a boast, you're going to be in a right mess of trouble.❞ His nose crinkles upwards in a form of genuine surprise. While embellishing the facts is nothing new to him, he knows to tiptoe the lines carefully. This? This is just a little white lie in the scheme of things.
He hates how she intends to teach him, as if she knows everything. She is no hypocrite about boasting, yet, she constantly digs under his skin, as if she's superior to him. ❝I don't need to learn anythin’,❞ he mutters, pulling back his sleeve to reveal his unfortunate wound. Even now he intends to be rebellious in the face of the purple pony.
❝I bet that no matter what my answer is, you're going to lecture me.❞ He nearly raises his voice, yet it is the sound of soft breathing that calms him. No more words are spoken to the pony, not the slightest bit of attention is upon her. Instead, his eyes are wholly focused upon the pink nosed little rabbit peeking up from under his jacket. Though his arm still aches, he still offers a small, yet genuine smile. ❝–I took care of some of Hive City's bully population.❞
Owl Be Needing That Back [closed]
— [ ✪ ] — Unamused, he raises a brow of his own. No need to mince words around, he doesn’t intend to speak in a particularly arrogant way. Her pet was acting out of line. End of story.
His telekinesis keeps the pet at bay. The gentle, glowing orange palm, releases the owl, yet remains held for a few moments longer. Perhaps as a warning, it is held in a universal ‘stop’ gesture. A few seconds pass before the hand fizzles into nothing.
❝Likes me? Now that can’t be it. Probably smells something edible on me.❞ Blustering on and on, the pony keeps talking and the coach keeps tuning her out. Instead of just leaving him alone, she seems intent on what? Teaching him a lesson? She’s the one that bothered him. No need to let her get in the way of his shopping excursion.
❝Magic? Ha! That ain’t magic.❞ Yeah, as a flying unicorn, she’d know about magic. Nothing like what he can do. ❝That was achieved with the power of my mind. Nothing magic about it.❞
Though his arms be laden with bags, Oleander raises a forefinger to tap against his skull – right where that little door of his would go. His pride in himself manages to eclipse his annoyance towards the little horse. If there is anything the diminutive man holds about himself in high regard, it is his skill in psionics.
❝What I just did is called telekinesis. Now, if I actually had the rest of my abilities, I could have done a whole lot more. Not that I would have, mind you.❞
“Yeah, you’re right.” She flat out rolled her eyes, rolling her head slightly with it. “I’m not letting him eat anything you have anyway.” She snorted again.
Eyes narrowed about his comments on magic, like magic wasn’t powerful or was something to laugh about. Maybe if he’d seen what she could do, or any number of the other princesses for that matter, he wouldn’t take it so lightly.
“Oh, well, that’s easy! That’s just like what I do with my magic. Actually, that’s probably just about the lowest spell any unicorn could do. You don’t even need a cutie mark dealing in magic to do that. The hand is new, though.”
She trotted proudly next to him, her horn lighting up as the pinkish glow transferred to the bags he was carrying and lifted them up. Did he ask for help? No, he probably didn’t need it. Did she feel the need to show off and waste one use of her magic today? Yes. It was important, obviously. It was probably spurned by the comments on magic.
— [ ✪ ] — ❝Oh, so you think being a psychic is easy, huh?❞ His pride in his own abilities eclipses all else. No, it is not as if he thinks magic to be simple parlour tricks, it is just that being psychic is more important than anything. And he doesn't think about the arrogance in his previous actions. When he snaps back against the pony it is because he thinks she's belittling him. Pun not intended.
Thus, he forgets common sense for a moment. The hand rematerializes, digging into the ground and producing a sizable chunk of asphalt. About the size of an average chair, it is still admittedly more than a little impressive that earth separates from earth with such ease. And it is with precision that the clump returns to its rightful position as if nothing at all has changed.
❝I could have tossed that thing about like it was a mere baseball, but I wouldn't want you to drop my bags in surprise,❞ he smirks. ❝Besides, believe it or not, but I ain't soulless enough to cause needless property damage.❞
Despite knowing fully that her kindness is merely a side effect of her pride, Oleander isn't one to look a gift horse -- alicorn, in this case -- in the mouth. He sticks his now freed hands in his pockets, and continues walking. Oh, she's so easy to goad, she'd follow him over Olympia's edge if he taunted her long enough.
