L&L Classic Auto (Wendell, Idaho): In June 2026, the human-caused Median Fire swept through this beloved family-owned salvage yard. The fire scorched 8,600 acres and destroyed an estimated 9,000 of the yard’s 10,000 classic cars, wiping out a collection that had been accumulating since the 1960s.

Rancho Cordova, California: A rapidly moving grass and brush fire in June 2026 entered a local salvage yard, destroying approximately 30 cars before fire crews were able to contain the blaze.
