My roman empire is that Russel T Davies picked David Tennant to play the 10th Doctor because he liked how he played Casanova, in the mini series he wrote

And that David got the part of Casanova because Michael Sheen, who was supposed to play the part, was busy

So there must be a parallel universe where Michael wasn't busy, played Casanova, and then went on to play the 10th Doctor

A painting based on the episodes Human Nature/Family of Blood from Doctor Who, MAN did those episode destroy me! The whole tragic John Smith arc, how he couldve had happiness and love but couldn't let himself, Martha's struggle in those episodes, everything else. They're my favorite episodes so far, so I had to draw them!

And I hope ya'll spot all the details in this excruciating painting ;)

Random writing thought: the best stories are often the ones that only you could have written — but also the ones that you could only write at this one moment.

I couldn't write All the Birds in the Sky from scratch now if I tried. But the me of 2013 couldn't have written The Prodigal Mother either.

When people ask if I'd change anything about a book I've already written, I want to explain to them that I'm not the person who wrote that book any longer, and even if I tried right now I'd write a different one. Everything you make as a writer* is a combination of what you want to say and who you are at the time you are telling that story.
