Forgetting the sea — detail from 'Cold Shore'
A thousand wishes
Drawing based on this photo my friends took:
Destiny 2 is a silly little looter shooter but also its a story about love and it did matter and continues to matter at every turn. Destiny 2 is the opposite of that post about the love being there but not changing anything. the love is there and it changes everything. we succeed because Elsie tells her sister that she's there and she loves her and she trusts her and she won't leave again. we get Mara back because Shuro Chi loved her. we defeat Savathun because she cares, because she feels betrayed, because she feels her sisters were betrayed with her and that care and love blinds her. we live because Mara learns to open herself up to love and refuses to walk away from her brother again and turns back for him this time. we win because Eramis loves her people too much to fully buy into the Witness and we win because Eido believes there's good in everyone and refuses to live in a world where people can't change. we win because Taranis loved Riven and their children and defied his own nature and starved himself to give them that love. we win because Rasputin loves humanity so much even though he was never meant to because Ana loved him so much she taught him every beautiful thing she knew. we win because despite their differences Ikora loves Zavala and Zavala loves Ikora and they couldn't live without each other. we win because Eris loved her fireteam too much to let phantoms of them ruin that love and she lived because Brya loved her enough to give her one last chance. we win because our ghost loves us. just because he loves us so much. and because we love him. and because Cayde loves Sundance and wants to spend eternity with her. we win because at every turn the characters choose to love and trust and forgive.

The Final Shape
Thank you all so much for all the love you're giving to my art recently. It means the world to me 🌞
Women in STEM (sorcery, thaumaturgy, enchantment, magic)
I love the Bad Kids so much. I’m so glad season two will finally be on YouTube in full. I really hope they do the full four years. I just finished rewatching season one. That nat twenty was actually insane. Can you imagine that moment? It’s your first dnd game. All but one of the main party members are down. Reinforcements might not make it in time. Anyone who could heal is out of commission. You’re the primary healer, the cleric. You are unconscious. This is a dnd play show. This is the finale. Every character, built over the course of 16 episodes, might die here. All of it would be for nothing. This is your first dnd game. What the hell. If I roll a nat 20 can I pop back up? You do.
my friend asked me to pretend to be her boyfriend because her parents are homophobic af but they ended up hating me so much that they were glad when she said she was gay task failed successfully
okay so
be a goth. conservative christian parents don't approve of goth men. show up to their house wearing all kinds of satanic symbols if you can
know more about religion than the parents. they'll try to introduce you to christianity because you don't exactly look like a christian but your dad's an ex priest and has a phd in theology so *cracks knuckles* you'll correct them on every little mistake they make
call your fake girlfriend every annoying petname under the sun. i'm talking about babu, shmoopie, snuffleupagus. when you run out of annoying english terms of endearment call her shit like "my liver" or "my little cabbage" (actual greek terms of endearments but the parents won't know this they'll just think you're annoying :3)
to continue this, talk to your fake girlfriend in the most high pitched annoying voice possible but talk in your regular voice to everyone else
stare at her older brother's ass for just a little too long
have an annoying laugh. think of sybil fawlty but a stereotypical villain playing a church organ in his castle
let them quote bible verses to you. then ask "so when were those two destroyed for sodomy?". it's very funny to do this when judas kisses jesus, and it's even funnier when you've just corrected them over a minor mistake in church history
ask WHY abraham was begging for sodom. it doesn't make sense to you why a good christian man would go and beg for tha-
be over possessive of your fake gf (dont really do this, it's just an act)
go and fuck her brother in an alleyway. the parents won't know about this so it's an optional step
use words no one knows the meaning of. do this without realising because you always talk like that
just be yourself! that's enough on its own to make them despise you tbh
Gonna get myself a fun little surprise I guess
This is better than I'd ever hoped for, I bet a rat could kill you with that thing by firing a laser back in time and electrocuting your grandfather
Just look at this thing
The rat gun is hereeeeee!
This is getting notes again so I will admit that "rat gun" was an autocorrect error and it was supposed to be "ray gun."
But it'll always be a rat gun to me.
The most expensive thing in these pictures was the cat, and he was $60.
I'll be honest--I forgot that the pump organ desk/bar was visible in the background, and it was NOT under $60.
It was actually $75.
The chairs, however, were paid for in human life. I inherited them; they were originally my great grandmother's. But they're not particularly rare-- you can find these exact chairs without a lot of effort, in reasonable shape, for not that much money. They made a lot of them.
your gazelle has a pearl choker
That's Hadrian. He's a bush buck and he loves fashion.
Every house post is legendary.
guys will try to school you on colors as if THEY were the gatherers
What color is this?

One of my favorite tricks for designing alien species/cultures is to take a real animal with an interesting lifecycle and think about what that biology would translate to if they had human intelligence
Example: silk moths as a base species
Because the moths themselves don’t eat and only live long enough to mate and then starve to death, the entire culture is made up of children and adolescents. The older children raise the younger ones, with families being made up of hatchmates from different years.
Because molts and eventual transformation into a short lived adult happen on a set schedule, families have a cycle— when your oldest set of siblings cocoon to become adults, you wait at the mating grounds and try to adopt their newborns after they pass. If that fails, you take any ‘orphans’ you can find.
Because death and birth are nearly simultaneous, they have a religion based around reincarnation, and infants with markings similar to a parent are often given their name. Claiming the offspring of a beloved family member is vitally important, because you want to be able to protect their soul and keep them close.
Because it’s hard to track the offspring of your male family members, there are sometimes major fights when a family sees an infant with familiar markings in another family’s clutch.
Between mating seasons, their culture is extremely food-oriented, because everyone is growing and silkworms eat nigh constantly. They spend most of their lives outdoors but sleep and shelter from bad weather in large family dwellings made from wood and the remains of the silk cocoons of prior generations.
everyone is really vibing with the silkworm aliens I see
a kiddo with a basket of goodies for the hatchlings back home!
This is the post that first introduced me to your worldbuilding. In honor of both this and silkworm aliens, I have drawn some art. also because caterpillars can be quite cute.
I imagine a more effective form of carrying things would be something like saddlebags on a caterpillar horse blanket for their rear halves. flying moths would likely symbolize rebirth- this might be a mourning/celebration of rebirth cloak that the older sibling here is wearing.
The young one is holding a green silk doll that likely belonged to a recently-passed elder sibling.
the little one is so cute i am going to CRY, they're so tiny and precious. i too would hold their little buggy hand. i also love the idea of practical horse blankets, very practical!!

Szulitya, Wolf of the Court
Illustration of a character from The Wildercourt, the graphic novel I’m (slowly) working on. Szulitya is a tertiary character, but she’s a lot of fun to write and draw.
Godzilla, Mothra & King Ghidorah: Fluffy Monsters Best Friends Forever (2023)
I am BEGGING you to watch Otter Dynasty on HBOMax.
Imagine someone took high budget documentary footage of otters, asked George R R Martin to write fanfiction about the otters, then spent a ton of money producing it into a tv show where British people voice over the first-person narrative of the otters to put on HBO.
I am literally only on episode one and so far the exposition has included high society otter queens talking absolute royal smack about each other, musing their plans for war, and worrying about their territory and linage, all whilst praying for guidance from their otter ancestors and gathering information from their TURTLE SPIES.
TURTLE. SPIES.
It is positively UNHINGED.
sometimes i think about narnia and i vibrate out of my skin like...
you walk into a world you cannot understand, frozen and dying, and it is you who thaws it. you who kills the witch, you who breaks the stone table, you who slays the wolf. it is you who is crowned and it is you who wails for two worlds when the wardrobe doors shut behind you.
your skin never sits quite right and your teeth are too dull. there are wars in your bones and decades in your eyes before you can reach the telephone on the wall.
you are king. you are queen. they won't let you read the newspapers at breakfast.
it calls you back from beyond a train and from within paint. begs with bloody palms and salt-crusted cheeks. takes from you all that you can give - and sends you back.
you watch your sister fade.
you are a child twice and an adult once. and when you stand in your home again, with crushed bones and the smell of coal still in your nose, you watch them sneer at your sister.
your sister is the sun above you. she is, beautiful and stone-cast, alive in a world you could never stomach. she smiles, still, and stretches her skin over human bones.
she is no longer a friend of narnia. do you tell them it is her who has to bury you all and the stars that are falling from the skies in shards?
