“How can I answer if you’re kissing me, Otis?” She murmured. Arms raising to wrap around his neck as she gave him a quick kiss back.What she had said was more of a joke, really. Although it was a rather serious matter. When growing up Nelly had planned everything. What would happen, how she would become a nurse, when and where. Then she’d learned to make plans around those plans when taking on a secret bigger than herself, then taking in Vladimir, then- she wasn’t sure where her childhood plans had stood.

Even if all these things had been happening over the years, including the fights, the wars, Vladimir almost dying, meeting and falling for  Otis.. it  all blended together, and time moved fast over those years.  Questioning if things would really be alright this time. If this do-over of a do-over would end with happiness instead of blood like the last one had.  “Nothing is making me unsure.. it’s just hard to see the future here. It’s always been what’s going to be best for Vladimir, how do we  need to hide this time, who’s life is going to be sacrificed.. it’s odd to just stop and think about my own emotions- about us.”
