Lowell Bailey and Tim Burke, from Lake Placid, anchored the mixed relay team in Pyeonchang this morning that finished in 15th place. Burke struggled to make up time after his team fell back against the competition in early legs. “The strategy once I got tagged was to try and make up some time and try and get in contact with at least one other team so that Lowell could have someone to chase,” Burke commented, in a statement released by US Biathlon. “That’s the way biathlon goes. Some days go your way and some days don’t,” Bailey added.
"This was an incredible ice-dance event," Maia Shibutani said, of a competition marked by high scores and high drama — and an electric program by Canadian legends Tess Virtue and Scott Moir.

With no NHL players eligible, this US team brought together college and minor league players for the games.
