A gentle puff of air escaped your lips in content sigh as you shifted, limbs flopping lazily in drag of your plush duvet. The subtle tracings of a smile painted your face in mimic of the euphoric dream which had encased your being. The vivid imagery envisioned in your mind ventured into an unexpected encounter with the disruptive blaring of your excessively upbeat ringtone. Groaning in annoyance, the melodic tune coaxed you out of your deep, slumberous state; eyes groggily blinking to reveal the luminous blur emitting from your phone screen. A reluctant arm reached beyond the warm confinements of your toasty bed, to grab blindly at the oak atop your bedside table. Your fingers finally encased the vibrating device, bringing it up into view of your readjusted orbs, characters fixating a name all too pleasant on the screen. A single swipe led the device to sit in the curve of your lobe, hushed greeting slipping delicately into the still atmosphere. The response travelled in symphonic fashion, gleeful in tone just as it always was, eliciting the questioning on how he could possibly be this chirpy at such a ridiculous hour. With your mind wandering, you left his greeting unanswered, drawing high pitched whines in adorable mould with your name, a single word never sounding more appealing. Breaking out into wide grin, you answered his coos with a question of his motive, the response startling you: āCan you come over? I want to eat cereal with you.ā Dragging the phone away from its temporary home, 5:04 waved in mocking back at you, disbelief melding with the sheer confusion in your hazed mind. He reasoned his early awakening with factual evidence of a morning rehearsal, before enticing you with the statement that he would even pour your bowl for you. Images of Sichengās panic stricken face hung heavy over puddles of cold, white rain sent worry, and slight humour coursing through your veins. With your boyfriendās clumsy nature hovering at mindās edge, you reached the conclusion that he must be rather desperate to see you. A satisfied grin made joyful pair with your agree to join him, the eruption of thrilled cheer resounding in the air before the young male hushed into a sudden shyness. Alerting him of your departure, you ended the call and slipped out of the heated lavish cage you resorted to every night, the crisp morning air attacking your exposed skin in vicious bursts. Hurrying to your wardrobe, you quickly exchanged the flimsy fabric of your pyjama shorts with some thick, grey sweats, before adjusting the hem of Sichengās hoodie until it was resting gently atop your thigh once more. The commute to his dorm was manageable, and you found your feet perched at his front door and tiny fist knocking lightly before you knew it. A disheveled mop of pale pink locks shot through the opening frame, before your eyes closed on his rich brown orbs, the gesture evoking smiles brighter than any light atop both of your faces. Following his lead, you watched with eyes laced with admiration as he skipped merrily to the kitchen, halting at the table to make a grand waving gesture to the two perfectly perched bowls, with cereal filled to the brim and silver spoons poking their greeting through the mountain of grains. Your distant stares prompted Sicheng to draw out the small wooden stool, motioning for you to sit. As you planted yourself firmly atop the tiny piece of furniture, you shared a look with Sicheng signifying that you could start eating. As you scooped miniature mouthfuls slowly into your awaiting cavern, you munched hungrily on the crunchy flakes, audible noises of enjoyment seeping into the deserted kitchen in dance with Sichengās own. The lack of conversation was combatted with meaningful glances and smiles from overfilled mouths, contents nearly spewing out with each new curve of the lip. The subtle glow of the rising sun splayed through the glass window, delicate orange hues surrounding Sichengās silhouette making you certain he was glowing. Time appeared to have stood stationary, your whole world seated solely in that one stool beside you; eyes fluttering over his figure in careful awe. Maybe he really did just want you to accompany him for breakfast, but a bigger part of you believed he just found an excuse to see you ā and you were glad that he did.
Your limbs settled lifelessly in excessive sprawl across your leather sofa, the shutters of your eyes struggling to stay open at the mundane series of pixels presented on the small screen of your television. The loathsome shrill of your doorbell sent itās song bellowing through the narrow hallways, alerting all your senses in sudden jolt. Discarding your body from the temporary mould it had made, you approached your front door in shuffled steps, socks collecting dirt from the tiled floors with each drag made. Unlocking the hatch, you twisted the knob to reveal the all too familiar face of your awaiting boyfriend. Not expecting his company today, your jaw dropped slightly in surprise, the soft giggle in response sending you spiralling back to reality. Tilting your head in silent question, Sichengās large hand found nest in his strands, rubbing the smooth skin of his neck in habit he always did when he was reluctant to say something. Coaxing him with a small smile, the young male eventually found the confidence to spit out āI ran out of ice cream and was wondering if you had any?ā As soon as the question fell from his lips in the rich tone of his voice, and registered inside your head, faint giggles erupted in response. The whole ordeal felt rather odd, and the curious ponders of why he didnāt simply go to the grocery store baffled you, but knowing Sichengās behaviour all too well, you failed to let any of these queries slip aloud. He followed you like a lost puppy into the foodās quarters, watching intently as you pulled open the freezer door and the tub of heavenly contents came into his field of view, light beams escaping in angelic manner in his mind. With a smile you opened the tub, the metal scoop making contact with the creamy substance in a single strike. The perfectly shaped spheres made leap into the bowl, one after the other, until three lay stacked in symmetrical pile. Sichengās tongue made subconscious swipe against his lip, mouth watering at the thought of the icy treat. Handing him a spoon, you watched as he dug in fondly, slurping the dessert without a care in the world. Lost in thought, you failed to notice the spoon which was outstretched invitingly before you, a cough having to draw your attention. Opening your mouth, you allowed Sicheng to feed you, the glacial texture burning at your wet muscle, before it burst into sweet strawberry flavour as you consumed it. You never used to purchase a tub of the frozen treat on your regular grocery trip until Sicheng came into your life, the visionary of his excited grin never failing to send your fingers subconsciously into the freezer, placing the package into your trolley week after week. Maybe he really was just wondering if you had any ice cream, but a huge part of you was almost certain this was just an excuse to see you ā and you were glad that it was.
Climbing the final flight of stairs, the seemingly endless cardio workout had reached its glorious conclusion, your mind making mental note to take the elevator from now on. With heaved breaths and eyes fixated on the worn canvas of your shoes, your head collided into the torso of another, pulling away with apologies firing on rapid repetition. As your eyes trailed up the tall figure, it didnāt take you long to figure out who it was. He stared at you with a sheepish smile, followed by mumbled apology for startling you. You couldnāt help but notice the small plastic casing he was carrying, decorated with Ā vibrant animated characters in radiant palette. Noting your curiosity, Sicheng held up the flimsy packaging and informed you that he had rented the movie this morning, as he thought you wanted to see it. With the case further in view, you were able to decipher the title and observe the frontal imaging. Your eyebrows made swift meeting with each other in tight knot as you wracked your brain for any knowledge of the film in mention, seemingly unable to recall the title at all. Your eyes darted frantically between Sichengās and the case, the hopeful glaze over his rich orbs convincing you to simply play along with his proposal. Hands acting as the hook, you fished inside the deep canal of your handbag, fingers closing in on their prey before fumbling with the lock to your apartment. Swinging the door open, you motioned for Sicheng to enter before you, perching your coat neatly atop the hanger and discarding your shoes. Joining your awaiting boyfriend in the living room, you assisted him with inserting the disc, large arms cocooning your waist in strong drag in direction of the couch, limbs flinging reluctantly atop the supple fabric. Settling in his warm cage, rich scent enraptured your senses and coursed through your veins, lulling you into peaceful euphoric state. The single press of a button sent thousands of pixels on their merry journey across the screen, dancing together in perfect visual matrimony; two pairs of orbs intently trained on their every jitter. Tilting your head slightly, Sichengās delicate features entranced your being, each curve and crevice so gracefully illuminated with subtle glows ā purely angelic in appearance. With each added thump of the miniature hand upon its time snatching ventures, the further your conscience convinced you that he was the most beautiful man your eyes had ever had the pleasure of landing upon. Nimble fingers clasped in tender motion the cotton fibres of his shirt, clutching the fabric as if striving to be as close to him as you possibly could. Maybe he really did believe you wanted to view this film, but this time you were almost positive it was just an excuse to see you ā and it was then you discovered that you would always be glad that it was.

iām doing well!! i just started at my first job, so thatās pretty hectic & exciting, but iām happy to say that i have begun writing my next fic~
heyo~ itās me! along my wandering journey into adulthood, a few hobbies of mine which i held so dearly to my heart, slowly dissipated into bittersweet memory. iāve always still been on this blog, scrolling through the odd tag and clicking the little heart on posts which brought a fond smile to my face, but have failed to produce the little heartwarming tales like i used to.
with nothing much to do today, i found myself absentmindedly sifting through my previous work, and revisiting the nostalgia which came with writing them. it was then i realised how strongly i missed the passion i once had for writing, which makes me pleased to announce my strong desire to return to this blog once more.
you may have noticed, but i did a little theme revamp also - as a mini celebration of my return & i hope you are just as excited as me for the future!

'oceans apart' is probably the most beautiful thing i've read in my entire life. i absolutely love the phrase "you wished so dearly for the oceans to close", everything was worded perfectly but this part left me in awe and i'm just! fan fiction is fun to read, but your work left me emotional and with tears in my eyes as if i was actually in the storyā you are so so talented.
