☾ ☠ ☽ — His grin only widens seeing the way she’s looking up at him. He’s seen that look more than once and from more than one person. He knows it well. She wanted to kill him and if looks could kill he’d be on the ground right now , but that simply wasn’t how it worked.
His lips are pursing together seeing the way she’s looking at Lucille. He’s sure it was a painful reminder of what happened back on the line up. He also knew one of the men he killed had been her husband. It sucked , ‘cause honestly he didn’t want to kill the second one. Hell , for that matter he didn’t want to kill the first one. But when they attacked his outpost and killed dozens of his people in the most cowardly way possible , they’d left him no choice.
He lowers himself down in front of Maggie. ❝ I need you to know me. ❞ His words are sort and simple … sweet and to the point. ❝ You see , I need someone like you on the inside. Someone to see how things really work around here. I need YOU to HELP me with Rick. I know he’s got something cooking and it’s going to get EVERYONE you care about killed. ❞
Maggie was confused. Why was Negan asking her of all people for help? It didn't make any sense. She watched him as he crouched down next to her, her gaze going back to the bat for a moment before looking back at him.
How was she supposed to know about what Rick was planning? She hadn't seen him since the lineup. She went back to Hilltop to get medical attention and then when the Saviors showed up, Gregory turned her over to them. Then she was brought back here. This place was terrifying despite the familiar feel. It reminded her of the prison.
❝ I don't know what Rick's got planned. ❞ She said plainly. Though that was something of a lie. She knew Rick well enough to know he wasn't going to play this game for very long. ❝ Ya made your point with them that night. You don't got nothin to worry about. ❞
