     Remember how I said I’d be here yesterday? Well, I was going to get on and do a couple of things when I got home but it turns out, while on vacation, my AC broke. It was set to 78 fahrenheit and it was 89 and counting when we got home. It’s humid and just... mind-frazzling. I’ll be here and do a few things on the sporadic times where I’m sitting in the one room that has a separate AC system cause it was a later addition. The AC guy is coming either today or tomorrow and will tell us how much it’ll be to get a whole new system and I’m already cringing knowing it’ll be more than I want. So, wish me luck, and please stay hydrated! Which is something I’m doing more of, so don’t worry! I’m keeping myself healthy!

boy, if she had a nickel dollar for every time she’s heard that (or an iteration of the same) she would have enough to pay for a new, hard-covered book. thanks to her powers, her mother and father would have to remind her that the easy way wasn’t the best way. that, or something telling her that she wouldn’t learn anything by taking the easy route to a final outcome. granted, this wasn’t her parents trying to give her a lecture, it was in the field in the middle of a battle. the implications were more strategic based, working towards an outcome that would have ladybug getting the akuma and doing her thing.

     Walking back to campus was always an adventure. New York never slept, and kept giving surprise after surprise. One time when she was at Central Park sketching whatever interested her most, she had someone confuse her for a cousin and she got to catch up on all the ‘family gos’ that she missed while at... University of Michigan, oh she’s not actually the cousin but just looks like her. Violet found the whole ordeal amusing, but the woman--who was not much older than Violet herself--was quite embarrassed. She ended up noticing Violet’s sketchpad and the two started a conversation about art and the doppelgänger phenomenon. 

Today it seems, the city had a surprise unlike any other Violet had witnessed before. While walking by what appeared to be a condemned apartment, she saw the flashing lights of raw electricity light up one of the lower windows. Now let it be here stated and known that Violet Parr is not a trespasser. She doesn’t get thrills from sneaking into abandoned buildings, she actually finds it rather dangerous and thinks it could get people killed, but there was something pulling her towards the building. So, with a sigh and an apologetic look sent to the heavens--in hopes that her mother’s mom senses wouldn’t go off just because Violet was doing something illegal--she snuck into the building. What was she met with inside? A girl, generating electricity between her hands. 

Not looking where she was walking, her leg hit a discarded chair, making a loud scraping sound. Busted. 

“Hey now, I’m not going to get you in trouble.” She knew better than anyone the gift, as well as the burden, that came with having powers. To prove her point, she held her hand out in front of her, palm splayed out so the girl could see it clearly... and then she made her entire forearm and hand disappear. “See?” Returning her arm to its normal visible state, she hesitantly took a step towards the stranger. “My name is Violet. What’s yours?”

            did she say digging a hole? she meant digging her own grave. never before had she owned a pet, let alone a dog. people who are dog owners seem to talk about their dogs in a way only dog owners know, something that was hard to emulate on the fly like she was forcing herself to do now, but it was all in the name of her cover.  ❝ named after my... grandmother. she looked a lot like her. ❞  oh gosh, she was really bad at this. pausing momentarily, tongue darted over her lower lip before teeth nipped at some dry skin, her nervous habit rearing its ugly head as her gaze moved to anywhere but back to the masked man.

    “ Who was-- What was that? ” She fumbled over her words, finding it hard to discern if she was speaking full French or if it was coming out as a mixture of English and French due to her frazzled state. Sure, news had quickly spread about the crimefighting duo in France when Ladybug and Chat Noir first appeared and Violet had been quick to follow all the stories and speculations that surrounded the two. She followed the Ladyblog and had seen news footage of previous villain attacks, but it was so different experiencing it in person. If only she had her super suit with her and hadn’t left it locked in her suitcase back at her host family’s home, she could have possibly helped. Now, she was just a concerned civilian, and was probably making a fool of herself.

   It was a slow process, incorporating Supers back into the public eye. Possibly it was actually quicker than it seemed, but not having lived in a time when things were different, the whole thing felt like it was going at the pace of a snail. When her parents informed her and Dash about a meeting with some military personnel, set up by Agent Dicker, to try to make headway into bringing back Supers, she thought it was a great idea. Now, standing in front of the very intimidating Military Sergeant, it hit here how real this was. She and her family had saved the city. She was a superhero.

   Lips pursed as she puffed out her cheeks in a mixture of concentration, confusion, and exasperation.        Let me start off by saying: Hello followers of my blog! Thank you so much for deciding to give Vi and I a chance! This, if you couldn’t tell, is a new blog. I’ve been neglecting it the past two days because I’ve been getting ready for a trip I’m about to go on to see the eclipse! I will be here tonight hopefully, and definitely tomorrow (seeing as I will be in a car for 7 hours). I want everyone to know, my voice for Vi is a bit iffy, because it’s always hard when starting out writing new characters. I’ll be getting to replies, starters, and memes soon!
